When I first brought my mum in I received a very warm welcome and the staff/carers provided her with what she wanted to eat, although she was tired so sadly couldn't eat it all, but it was very good.
The carers are kind and willing to do their best in taking Mum's thoughts into consideration and making
it easier for her to adjust to her new circumstances. As for myself and my wife, we have been treated with kindness and empathy under circumstances that you never thought you would have to encounter. So thank you.

I found all the staff to be very caring and kind to my husband and kept him comfortable during his time there. The home is very clean and well maintained. I couldn't find fault with anything with anything within the care home.

I feel very fortunate to have found Mill Lodge for my elderly father. They provide a full range of activities for residents, including the odd excursion. The food and care are very good, including the cleaning and laundry. I've got to see my dad wearing someone else's clothes, something all of us would
find important. I've come to realise that the job of a carer, in particular, requires a greater deal of care and skill than I ever thought.

My mum sadly wasn't in Mill Lodge for long but the care and compassion she received from the manager and his staff was the best I could have asked for. I wish I had made the transition from her last care home a lot earlier, I would highly recommend this nursing home for your loved ones.

My mum has been in Mill Lodge for several years, she suffers with dementia. On my recent visit, my mum was happy and contented. It was great to see how well the staff interact with her.
All the staff are friendly, caring and always happy to help you. Every room is clean and laundry is constantly being
done throughout the day. All the meals are home cooked and it's a great environment.
There are activities happening every day of the week, and it's lovely to see how the staff care for the residents and involve them.
I am extremely happy with the care my mum receives.

My 92-year-old father spent the best part of a year at Mill Lodge. Throughout his time there he was consistently well cared for. He began eating regular meals, put on weight and enjoyed the company of the other residents who, like the staff, were friendly and welcoming. I was kept informed about my
father's welfare by phone and email and was able to visit at any time. Thank you for caring for my father in his final year. The quality of care he received whilst at Mill Lodge was excellent.

My mum has been poorly now for a week in bed. The carers (all of them) have been so nice and caring and attentive to Mum and my family. Mum's room has been kept clean every time we come back. The staff come in and have my mum smiling and checking she is comfy. The kitchen staff are very accommodating
too nothing too much trouble which helps us as a family cope with what is going on with Mum. So big thank you to all.

Mum has only been here a week, having come from another care home. Can’t believe how much better she is, more chatty and eating better. The staff seem lovely and caring, and Mum seems more stimulated than in the other place - so glad she is here!

My father recently passed but has spent nine years in the care home in which he was very happy. I too was extremely happy with Mill Lodge Care Home, it is always kept clean and tidy to a high standard and the staff go above and beyond in their duties. My father was quite demanding but they dealt with
his every need. I would 100% recommend Mill Lodge to anyone looking for a care home or a relative.

My nan is in Mill Lodge Care Home, she’s been there since August 2019. She is happy, fed, clean and cared for. Over Easter, there were lots of things for residents to do. Even though Nan doesn’t leave her room much, she was still included. She was left crayons and pictures to colour, so she did it with
my daughter. She had snacks brought in and she got an Easter egg.
Everyone is kind and they really care about all the residents. The home is always clean and fresh smelling. There’s a daily menu for meals each day out on the notice board and information of loads of events for the residents and families. It’s a brilliant place for anyone wanting care and contentment in knowing their family member is properly cared for.

Mum has been in Mill Lodge for 3 weeks. In that small amount of time, she has allowed showers and personal care. More importantly, she is eating again. She has dementia so it's difficult but she really is at home. I cannot praise the staff enough for the way they have cared for her and understood her.
She is no longer distressed. She is calm and settled and I can sleep at night. What a wonderful bunch of nurses and carers. Their manager is fantastic.

We were so impressed with the quality of attention she received from all of the staff at Mill Lodge - the cleaners, nursing assistants, nurses and particularly the care home manager. He made my mum feel very special. In return my mother formed a bond of friendship will all of the team at Mill Lodge.
She would sing "You are my Sunshine" as the staff brought her morning papers, she called them all angels as they dressed her, changed her bedding, brought her medication and meals and spent time with her, listening to her stories. We were particularly inspired by how the care home manager and senior nurse worked with his staff. He was always patient, calm thoughtful and attentive to my mother's needs, as he was with all the residents, and was able to give them time and help, as was needed, in a timely fashion. My mother's final days were spent without distress or pain with family members sitting by her bedside until passed away quietly.

The staff all care and I love that.

I started my career as a carer in the UK in 2009 and got my nursing qualification in 2012 and worked my way through the ranks. I became a unit manager in a 42 bedded nursing dementia home in Cheshire East before relocating to Leeds and eventually landing my feet at Mill Lodge. I started as a bank nurse in Mill Lodge in 2017 and became home manager in 2019.


I am very passionate about the delivery of high standard care, dementia care, and end of life care. I love walking through Mill Lodge at the beginning of the day, seeing colleagues and having a chat, and getting the day off to a good start. I enjoy catching up with residents during the day, talking to them and finding out what they’ve been up to.


On my day off, I love to go on walks with my labrador, Dexter, who is now becoming very popular at Mill Lodge.

Hello!


I'm Dexter - mascot/bacon eater/toast thief! I'm the manager's dog. Even though he is the home manager, I run the home. I am more well-liked by both residents and staff than him.


I have been coming here since I was 14 weeks old and I have been to a lot of mischief, too! I try to behave sometimes especially when my human is around.


A lot of the residents find me amusing and a lot of them also find me therapeutic. My human told me I seemed to have a knack for comforting other humans, easing their loneliness and boredom. I know which rooms I can go to for treats. Crumbs on the floor? No problem!


Anyway, I hope I get to see you here at Mill Lodge soon! Please bring some treats!
