Mother has been at Mill Lodge for over 4 years. Did brilliantly during Covid. We have never had any concerns. Staff are caring and the home is always clean. Management is open door and willing to discuss any issues.

My dad has just entered the nursing home Mill Lodge. As with any end-of-life care it's hard to take a step back and leave the emotional attachment to one side. At this time I know they do their best for my dad and all at the home. It's getting the balance right and on that front, I cannot complain.
The management and staff have all done their best to help me understand. As long as my dad is looked after to the standards that form part of their daily routine, I am happy to recommend this home. No problems.

Really caring staff. Good office staff. The food is very good.
It doesn't smell and is nice and clean. I know my husband is getting the best care. They always inform me if my husband has anything wrong - can't fault Mill Lodge.

I went to see my aunty for her birthday, the staff made sure we were following government guide lines as regards PPE. My aunty looks well, the staff all seem very friendly. The place seems clean and tidy.

Absolutely outstanding care with Mill Lodge, if you are looking for options in Bradford you do not need to look any further. My dad has been a resident here for 2 years and the quality and service of care is fabulous. He is well looked after, always clean and tidy whenever I speak to him but most importantly,
he often tells me he is happy and comfortable at Mill Lodge.

My father was placed in Mill Lodge on palliative care and was given no more than 13 weeks to live, nine months later, he has passed. The support and care given to him have been way beyond my expectations. This has given him extra time and improved his well being. The team has gone through extreme difficulties
with COVID, but have done a fantastic job of looking after him, making him happy, comfortable and supported.

Mum came to Mill Lodge for palliative care. I had been recommended Mill Lodge by a family member and spoke to the manager who was very helpful and we arranged the admission. We have a very large family and the home accommodated all the visits we needed to make. The staff were so friendly and made us
feel part of the home and the process in these difficult times. We had many conversations with the nurses and staff and we always felt like Mum came first. Sadly, Mum passed away but we cannot recommend Mill Lodge enough. All of the visitors said what lovely staff the home has.

Our aunt was a permanent resident at Mill Lodge Care Centre from March 2021 until she passed away in December 2021. We visited her about 4 times a week and always found her to be very contented and happy with her lifestyle. She frequently commented: 'I couldn't have wished for a better place to stay
and the food is lovely !'. We thank the management and all the carers for their loving care, attention and thoughtfulness given to our aunt during her stay.

After spending time in hospital and in care homes that were poor and not very caring, I looked at some homes in the area which were terrible, I tried Mill Lodge! Best decision I've made. The atmosphere was homely, the staff were lovely and the management were fantastic. My wife was a lot happier and
pleased to be at Mill Lodge. She only had 5 weeks there before she passed away, but she was happy and well cared for.
Thank you Mill Lodge. I would recommend to anyone.

My dad was fast tracked here in July from hospital requiring palliative care. We cannot praise the staff enough at Mill Lodge for the way they looked after him with care and compassion. We were kept up to date and included in his caregiving us peace of mind. Dad was welcomed with all the care and attention
he needed, and the staff did everything they could to make him comfortable. We can’t thank them enough for what they did for him and us they have such a dedicated wonderful team and run the place so well? I honestly wish Dad's care had been like this from the beginning with the spirit, devotion, warmth and sheer competence of Mill Lodge. I would highly recommend the home to anyone wanting the best care for their loved ones.

I cannot praise the staff at Mill Lodge highly enough for the way they looked after my father in the short time he was with them. He arrived from hospital with only a few days left to live, and he was welcomed with all the care and attention as if he was a new member of a family. I don't know how they
did it, but every member of staff I ever spoke to in that short week knew his name, knew who he was, and showed they cared.


Maybe because they have such a wonderful team that the head nurse and manager are able to run the place so well? Or maybe it's because the head nurse and manager run the place so well that they have a wonderful team? Who knows which way round it goes? But, honestly, the world would be a better place if everywhere operated with the spirit, devotion, warmth and sheer competence of Mill Lodge.

Safe, caring environment. Mum was admitted as an emergency measure after a hospital stay. Staff enabled a smooth transfer and from that point onwards her care has been great. The staff who have cared for her have engaged with her and she feels happy and content. Communication with staff is good and
I know I can rely on them to keep me up to date and included in her care.

We, as a family, would like to take the opportunity to thank Mill Lodge. Dad was only with them for a short time. The manager, nursing staff, and all the staff behind the scenes made Dad's transition seamless.
The time Dad was with Mill Lodge, he received excellent care and compassion from all the
staff; nothing was too much trouble for them no matter how many times Dad buzzed for them.
The respect they have not only for Dad but the other residents are second to none; they always respected that Dad just wanted to be on his own, in his room, but often taking time out to go and sit with him for a chat.
We cannot thank them enough for the care Dad received, and also the compassion they showed us as a family. We would like to say thank you so much to the manager, the nursing team, and the staff behind the scenes, a special thank you to one lady, who had the time to listen, Dad enjoyed her chats; she has been an absolute treasure! I would highly recommend Mill Lodge.

My dad came to Mill Lodge following a massive stroke, after two days was put on end-of-life care. The staff, all of them, are fantastic and very supportive towards me, mum and dad, they offer time, which is all we needed, time to talk, time to ask questions. We never get told two minutes when staff
are with us; they make us feel we are the most important people here. Thanks for everything.

I have put July 2019 for my review date but my mother-in-law has been at Mill Lodge for around 4 years now.
When she moved in the home was under Care UK and has at the end of 2019 been taken over by Zenith.
They have already made massive changes. The home has been redecorated and has now got social
media so family can speak face to face with relatives when unable to visit. Staff numbers seem to have risen also which is good.
The manager is a lovely guy and all his staff are fabulous. The staff are on everything and ring up to make sure family are kept in the loop so to say. The team in the kitchen have always made lovely meals. From full Sunday lunches to buffet lighter meals. We went for Christmas dinner 2019 and it was lovely.
As a family we are always made to feel welcome when visiting (even with two young children who do, on occasion, get fed up and run around and have to be told not to)
The staff are great they always offer drinks and ask the children if they would like juice.

My sisters and I are so happy with the high level of care my dad receives. The manager and his team are efficient and thoughtful. He and the nurses are very good at keeping us informed of everything with my dad. His good days and his not so good days. They made him a cake for his birthday and sang happy
birthday. It’s the little things that matter as well as the big stuff. Overall I can finally sleep at night and not feel worried as my dad is in very good hands. Thank you so much to the team.

I started my career as a carer in the UK in 2009 and got my nursing qualification in 2012 and worked my way through the ranks. I became a unit manager in a 42 bedded nursing dementia home in Cheshire East before relocating to Leeds and eventually landing my feet at Mill Lodge. I started as a bank nurse in Mill Lodge in 2017 and became home manager in 2019.


I am very passionate about the delivery of high standard care, dementia care, and end of life care. I love walking through Mill Lodge at the beginning of the day, seeing colleagues and having a chat, and getting the day off to a good start. I enjoy catching up with residents during the day, talking to them and finding out what they’ve been up to.


On my day off, I love to go on walks with my labrador, Dexter, who is now becoming very popular at Mill Lodge.

Hello!


I'm Dexter - mascot/bacon eater/toast thief! I'm the manager's dog. Even though he is the home manager, I run the home. I am more well-liked by both residents and staff than him.


I have been coming here since I was 14 weeks old and I have been to a lot of mischief, too! I try to behave sometimes especially when my human is around.


A lot of the residents find me amusing and a lot of them also find me therapeutic. My human told me I seemed to have a knack for comforting other humans, easing their loneliness and boredom. I know which rooms I can go to for treats. Crumbs on the floor? No problem!


Anyway, I hope I get to see you here at Mill Lodge soon! Please bring some treats!
