Our mother was admitted in June 2016 when she became immobile and needed 24hour nursing care.
The nursing staff were always kind and supportive of her wish to remain in bed. As the months progressed she required more assistance with personal care and feeding, her dignity was preserved at all times.
During April 2017, her condition deteriorated resulting in her having to have thickened fluids and pureed meals, within a short time she was unable to swallow, she also had a recurrent urine infection.
The staff acted quickly in gaining medical opinion and a week later she died peacefully, with her dignity and family around her.
During that week, we as a family were treated with kindness and sympathy and will never forget the care we as a family received.

Ings House is a very caring nursing home and has a homely environment. Staff are wonderful, friendly, kind, caring, helpful and always have the resident's wellbeing at heart. The staff should be proud of the job they do as should the management on how well the home is run.

My grandma has been a resident for the past two years, the staff have been brilliant and constant in providing her with the ability to feel safe and secure while maintaining her dignity at all times. They give her choice and respect her encouraging and guide her where possible. It has provided us as
a family in piece of mind that he is safe, happy and contented in her final years.

Both my parents became residents of Ings House in 2013 after my father had a heart attack. I can say that my father and mother's care was superb. Sadly he passed away the same year, but my mother is still there, now in her nineties, she is well cared for, comfortable and happy. The staff really do take
their time to look after them. I have no complaints and would be glad to become a resident myself when the time comes!. Not for a while yet I hope. My wife and I have come to know the staff well in the past three years and we are treated as friends, after looking at several care homes in this area, this one stands out as a proper home.

My parents went to Ings Home for a week respite care following surgery. The residence is spotless, the staff are attentive and attuned to the needs of their residents. The home has such a positive feeling, despite the seriousness of the care they provide.

I cannot find anything negative to say

about the short time Ings House looked after my parents, only praise.

Thank you all for the care you give your residents, you set a benchmark which should be aspired to by all care homes.

'Ings House' is the most friendly and caring home I would want my mum to be in. You are made welcome whatever time of day you visit. The nurses/carers are all local ladies and have plenty of time for you!! My mum is well cared for in every aspect and is very happy and settled. I have total peace of
mind while she is there.

Current Review Score: 8.9 (8.884)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.9 (8.884) out of 10 for Ings House Nursing Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.6 out of 5 from 5 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.3 out of 5 from 5 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.603 for Ings House Nursing Home is calculated as follows: ( (37 Excellents x 5) + (19 Goods x 4) + (2 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 58 Ratings = 4.603

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 4.281 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Ings House Nursing Home is based on 5 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 = 3.5

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 32 registered maximum number of service users is 6.4. 5 Positive Reviews ÷ 6.4 = 0.781

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
