From the first time we visited Manorcroft Care Home, we were impressed by the professional approach and caring nature of all the staff and the support they gave to both my father and the whole family.

The home is clean, the food is excellent and the rooms are of a good size and well maintained.

Whilst

my father only stayed a short while at Manorcroft, I would not hesitate to recommend it to others looking for a caring, safer environment.

Mum was unable to care for herself and Manorcroft Nursing Home has become a home from home. She is well cared for. All her needs looked after and the staff are all friendly, caring and approachable. I would recommend this care home to anyone.

Agency staff can be very rude not speaking! I don't always get out of bed everyday especially on a weekend. I should get out daily for one to one and a half hours. Food is very good and lots of it. The staff are very friendly and always helpful, my room has become very cluttered with pads/dressings
etc.

Reply from Neil Booth, Registered Home Manager at Manor Croft Nursing Home

Many thanks for the review, the home now has the full staff quota in place and agency significantly reduced, we have now removed all clutter and have a daily plan in place to respond to your daily needs, this has been shared with all the staff and you review is very much appreciated.

I feel that there has been staffing issues at Manorcroft Nursing Home in the last 3 - 4 months nursing staff have left and not sure if all have been replaced. The staff structure seems to have changed and I don't think it is for the better. The one thing that has always been outstanding is the staff
at Manorcroft Home and I hope this will not change. My mother-in-law's bedroom now looks like a store room?

Reply from Neil Booth, Registerd Home Manager at Manor Croft Nursing Home

Many thanks for your review, there has been a few staff changes but are now fully staffed with very experienced staff throughout the home, the issues with storage have now been resolved and we really appreciate your valued opinion. Please do continue to feedback your comments which are highly valued.

My mother has been in Manorcroft about 6 weeks now and I can't fault the care and attention given to her. The care home is clean and very presentable. The meals are excellent and entertainment provided is very good. Overall I would recommend Manorcroft to anyone who is looking for a care/nursing home.

Very happy with this care home mum seems very comfortable and cared for. The staff are long and they are like an extended family. If she could thank them I know she would. I would recommend it to anyone in our situation, it is not a modern home but that is what it is a cosy home and caring.

On our very first visit, we were greeted extremely cordially and shown around the home. We were able to look at all the facilities and ask questions. Residents queries were dealt with most sympathetically, gently, and in a very caring and understanding manner. I quickly formed the impression that this
was a place which would cater for all my friend's needs in a dignified and respectful manner. My friend died yesterday and the help and understanding which I received was outstanding. I cannot thank the staff enough for their many acts of kindness.

The care given to both mum and dad has been very good. Dad was very poorly when he came to Manorcroft in November. He was looked after very well by everyone.

When it became necessary for my mother to have 24 hour care in a nursing home it was a difficult time. We felt guilty, anxious and fearful as a family, mother was very ill and the services we had were inadequate.

The manager of Manorcroft Care Home was very empathetic to me (I'm an Registered General

Nurse) and understood the emotional trauma.
The staff, both registered and unqualified were kind, understanding and patient with all our questions and anxieties. They took great care of my mother, nothing was too much, they were compassionate, sincere and maintained my mum's dignity always.

My parents have just moved to Manorcroft. The home has been very accommodating in letting us decorate their rooms to make them as homely as possible. Within just one week we notice a big difference in the way their nursing needs have been addressed compared to their previous homes. Staff are all
very friendly and welcoming and there is a really nice atmosphere at Manorcroft.

We visited our family member who was admitted to Manorcroft for respite care. Having visited other homes that smelt strongly of urine e.tc. it was a lovely surprise to visit on that smelt fresh and clean. The staff were lovely and very helpful. Our relative feels safe, comfortable and happy. She also
told us the manager was a wonderful and caring young man who really put her at ease. We left feeling much less concerned about her. Thank you Manorcroft.

My mum in law has only been in this home a few weeks. She is happy and is eating well. She likes all the staff and family feel the same way. They are always very friendly and are caring. All in all we are very pleased with the care mum receives from this home.

Current Review Score: 9.4 (9.405)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.4 (9.405) out of 10 for Manor Croft Nursing Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.5 out of 5 from 9 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.9 out of 5 from 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.505 for Manor Croft Nursing Home is calculated as follows: ( (55 Excellents x 5) + (48 Goods x 4) + (2 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 105 Ratings = 4.505

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 4.9 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Manor Croft Nursing Home is based on 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.9

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 40 registered maximum number of service users is 8, which has been reached with 9 Positive reviews. Points = 1

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
