My mother-in-law has been in Roberttown Carehome due to her dementia for a while now, and she is very happy there. She is looked after very well and has made lots of new friends. My wife is also much happier now her mother is in the home which she loves and is not stressed about her anymore. All the
staff are very caring and conscientious and look after the residents as if they were family.
They have lots of entertainment, including arts and crafts, pampering sessions and games.
Would recommend this care home to anyone looking for a cosy, caring environment for their loved ones.

I'm always impressed by the professionalism and friendliness of the manager and all her team either when they contact me directly or I'm calling for updates. Nothing seems too much trouble for the team and they genuinely seem to care about the residents. Prior to lockdown I witnessed some great interaction
between colleagues and residents and know that the team at Roberttown have been working extra hard in lockdown to keep everyone connected.

My mum had been in care at Roberttown on and off for the last few months, starting in respite but is now there permanently. At all times the staff have been brilliant with Mum. They have looked after her and made her feel welcome. This has been so reassuring for my family and I to know that she is in
a happy, very hygienic place, with great staff around her.

The staff in this care home provided our relative with outstanding care whilst staying with them. Support was shown to our relative and us as a family going through an extremely upsetting time. I cannot thank the staff and manager enough.

A very welcoming, friendly and professionally run care home. Our dear sister appears to have really settled very well into the home and feels secure and comfortable. She appears happier than she has been for a long time. Many thanks to the dedicated team (new family to our sister) led by the manager.

When we visit, we are always made welcome, and the staff are very friendly. They provided us with drinks and a blanket and chair for my elderly mother when we did an outside visit (window). If they give this sort of attention and care to the residents, I am sure that they will be very happy and well
looked after.

Our mother recently moved into the care home after a spell in hospital/intermediary care. The manager was extremely helpful when we were making the choice for her new home, especially given that we could not visit due to covid. Since moving in the staff have been so kind and caring, making the transition
as easy as it possibly could be. Nothing is too much trouble. Communication to the family has been excellent both verbally and by email. All in all, we feel that our mother is going to be very happy in her new home,

My mother was admitted to this care home through social services, she never settled in the six months she was admitted of her residence, I'm sure it was down to staffing problems. She was in this care home for six months and during this time she (had 3 falls and had to be taken to hospital) care orders
were put in place by ambulance staff etc during this period, my "mother was diagnosed with Dementia" prior to her admittance to the care home. We did note that all the staff were agency staff and had no permanent staff leadership at this time and also feel that dementia patients should not be accepted at this care home as it is not suitable for them.


Since my mother has been transferred to a suitable care home she has now settled with her environment and is at ease and no longer has "falls" and along with wonderful staff who seem to appreciate her circumstances who care for their patients please appreciate this it's written with experience and hope no one else has to go through this.

My mum has lived in this home now for three years and loves it. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff and the manager ensures I am fully informed of everything that happens with mum. Thankfully this home is a little jewel in Roberttown Care Home my mum thinks all the staff are her children!

My Dad was placed in the home in an emergency, but it really was a Godsend. He enjoyed it so much he requested to stay permanently. All staff are first class. Born to be in that job. Poor Dad has dementia but he has thrived in Roberttown. Excellent all round.

Excellent all round!
I have lived at Roberttown for 2 years. I wish I had moved in earlier, they even let me bring my budgie Gorgie. The staff are marvellous and treat me like family now I don't have my own. I feel very lucky I chose to live here. The manager spends time to call every day and they
take me to sit out too, the puddings are too nice to say not to!

These carers are the best. Very good meals. I stayed whilst my kitchen was fitted. Second time here. I slept so well. Very good activities/fun and games. Manager lady is lovely and kind, spoke to me every day, always lots to eat and drink. Looking forward to coming back when I do my lounge.

Roberttown Care Home has beautiful grounds, grass lawns with paths suitable for wheelchairs. A fish pond with a fountain, five hens and cockerel. The hens have a little house made of new wood with a slide inside for them to walk up and down. There are seating areas with comfortable chairs some in shady
places. There are trees, bushes with flowers and foliage. Flower beds of daffodils and other colourful flowers. It is sad that I have rarely seen the residents in this beautiful place.

Respite needed after a fall - beautiful home, excellent staff - pure Angels! They knew all about me and what I needed prior to me even arriving! Nothing was too much trouble. The Manageress is an Angel and made me feel so wanted and my needs were very important to her. I'm not quite ready for a home
yet but I hope I can come here when I do. 1st class treatment all round.

The staff at Roberttown are absolutely fantastic from the carers, laundry, reception, kitchen, cleaners, maintenance - management. Always polite, friendly, helpful, supportive and compassionate - under difficult circumstances. Definitely, deserve a medal and pay rise, cannot thank them enough.

Adam Calverley

Job Title: Home Manager

It’s a great privilege to be the Home Manager here at Roberttown and it gives me great pleasure to work with such a fantastic team of dedicated and caring staff.


My 15-year career in care has included specialist management roles within learning disabilities, dementia and elderly residential care.


The resident’s well-being is my main priority and delivering high-quality person-centred care in a safe and happy environment is paramount to this. Building good relationships with resident’s families is also very important to me and my door is always open.


In my spare time, I love travelling and visiting new places. I’m also a keen motorcyclist and a bit of a movie buff. I’m married with four children and am also now a very proud grandad.
