My father has recently been in Aberford Hall Care Home. All staff were so conscientious and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble for them. They carry out a very professional service at all times and at the same time having the individual touch. Everything was excellent including all care, food, drink
and very great cleaning standards. I would highly recommend to anyone. They were kind to all the family too.

My mum has now been in Aberford Hall for over 4 years. Throughout that time her care has been excellent and she has been very happy. The staff are very friendly and have gone out of their way to engage with her. Her room is comfortable and kept clean. I am now able to visit her in her room but when
this has not been possible they have facilitated skype calls. Overall I could not have wished for a better care home.

I would like to thank all the staff for the wonderful and loving care they have given my mum during respite. My mum has stayed there for 2 weeks respite and has been well looked after by all staff. My mum suffers from Alzheimer's. The staff and manager are caring people and make you feel welcome, they
can't do enough for the person staying with them and the families. Thank you all so much.

During her time at Aberford Hall, my mother's needs were well administered. She had been in and out of hospital during her stay; the home were very supportive to me and my mother during these occasions and management and staff have been more than ever the last 18 months of my mother's stay.

During the sad times of Covid-19 and unable to see my father, the staff were always there to answer the family calls, and always without fail, let us speak to my father. Their Covid procedures have been excellent, making sure everyone is safe and well and have done a great job. The staff are lovely
and hardworking. I genuinely cannot praise the carers enough. The home is well run and very clean. I can honestly say my dad is very well looked after, and it's such a great comfort to the family. I would like to thank all the working staff and definitely recommend the home.

My mum passed away at the end of March. Everyone at the home showed my mum and all her family great respect and kindness. The staff always have a smile on their faces and nothing was too much effort for Mum or her family. I was able to spend a lot of time with Mum over the last few days which I was
so grateful for. Everyone at Aberford Hall Care Home treated Mum and us as though they had lost a family member too. Words can not describe the affection and gratefulness I have for them all. There could not have been a better place for Mum.

My mum has been a resident at Aberford Hall for six years and in that time her health and wellbeing has improved immensely, this is due to the care and dedication of all the staff. In the past year not having been able to visit mum I have always known she is being well cared for via staff communication,
they have been excellent at keeping me up to date. I have no hesitation in recommending Aberford Hall to future residents.

My mother became a resident in January 2020. The day she moved in she was warmly welcomed by everyone she came into contact with. She has settled well, she loves a chat and is treated with great respect and dignity. As a family, we are extremely happy with the care Mum receives. Whenever we have telephoned
the office we have always been met with friendliness and a prompt response.
Coronavirus has caused great anxiety for all of us. We have been kept up to date regarding the current situation in the home by both telephone and letter. We could not have asked for more. It has been lovely to have the opportunity to Skype Mum and see how well she looks.

Although there is not a person in the country whose life has not been adversely affected by lockdown, none have been so severely restricted than residents of care homes. All have missed their outings and visits from family and friends.
My family has been meeting 'across the world' using video conferencing
and, when I realised that the well-being coordinator could facilitate my mother joining us, on a weekly basis, I was pleased to give it a try.
This has been successful and now my mother looks forward to meeting her grandchildren and great-grandchildren on a weekly basis. We all benefit from the joy on my mother's face as she watches the little ones playing.
Thank you to those involved in making Mum's confinement a little bit easier for her to bear.

My husband has been in Aberford Hall since November 2018. He was very poorly at first but with the care and attention he receives on a day to day basis, his health has greatly improved.
I used to visit on a daily basis but since the COVID crisis, of course this hasn't been possible. At first we kept
in touch by the home's mobile phone and then with the help of the manager, we had the pleasure of seeing each other using Skype on her IPad. Since then, the IT co-ordinator has been great in facilitating regular sessions using Zoom. This has allowed both our children, in London and in Leeds to see their Dad virtually on a weekly basis, this has made a tremendous difference to us as a family. It has also allowed my husband to see our two granddaughters. Without help, my husband's incapacity would have made this quite impossible. During these difficult months he has been able to enjoy seeing them grow and change.
A big thank you to the staff at Aberford for all you do.

I can honestly say that myself and family feel very lucky to have got our mum into this superb care home. Every single one of the Carers are so helpful and nice to our mum and can’t do enough for mum or us. In the middle of the Coronavirus lockdown and all the staff are handling the situation very well
and anytime we call they can’t do enough for us. If you are offered a place here for your loved ones snatched their hand off because they really can’t go into a nicer, better run home.

My mother was a resident from April to October 2019 when she passed away. During this time myself and the whole family were impressed with the care and attention that my mother received during her stay.
Towards the end of my mother's life the staff were extremely kind and caring, not only to my mother
but to any of the family members who were visiting at a very difficult time.
I can't praise the home and its staff highly enough and would not hesitate to recommend Aberford Hall to anyone looking for a rest home.

Since my Nana has left the St James's University Hospital Beckett Wing and come to Aberford Hall Care Home she has become more happy and cheerful and is more active. It is the best place she has been to.

“Kind care is always showing kindness and dignity, respecting others, being friendly and approachable and showing empathy in all aspects of care.”


As a Health Care Professional, Michelle has gained a wealth of experience in providing care and nursing support to elderly people, to enrich their lives. She is a knowledgeable and dedicated leader who is passionate about delivering the highest standards of care and quality of life for Residents.


Having worked at HC-One for many years, Michelle closely shares HC-One’s vision is aiming to provide the kindest care for each and every Resident. She extends this caring approach to her Colleagues and works closely with them to deliver care and support to Residents in a way that they gain the most benefit, in a warm and welcoming home.


When asked what she enjoys most about her role, Michelle remarked:


“I like to make a difference to my Resident's lives and ensure they are getting the best care they possibly can.”


Michelle has also achieved much outside of work, with her proudest achievement being becoming Home Manager at Aberford Hall having worked at the home for 18 years progressing through various roles.


Outside of work, Michelle enjoys spending quality time with her family.
