My aunt was a resident at Aberford Hall Care Home for two years. During that time, the standard of care was excellent. She was treated with love, care and dignity throughout. We as a family visited regularly at all times of the day and night. We also were treated by all of the staff with love and care.
Aberford Hall Care Home may not have the opulence of 5* facilities, but it does offer 5* care and attention to its residents. End of life care was exemplary.

Came to a coffee morning. Everyone enjoyed the tea and cakes. A nice photo was taken by the carer of mum with cream on her face!

Our mum went there from hospital, we went to look around without an appointment and were welcomed in straight away. The home was very clean and well kept. The staff very welcoming. Mum spent the last five weeks of her life there. The staff encouraged her to join in, bent over backwards to make meals
she could eat by pureeing them and doing small recognizable portions. All the staff were very attentive, always popping into the room whenever passing to check on her. Most importantly they made her feel welcome and special. We were very happy with everything.

I feel that my sister is getting all the attention she needs. When she goes to any activities she fully enjoys them and gets involved as much as possible, this helps with her movement and I am so very pleased about this. The trips outside the home have been great for her and she has enjoyed these too
to the full. I am so very pleased we have chosen Aberford Hall and I've told others about it.

From the start the person in question was treated with care and dignity. The building inside was fresh and clean no odours or smells. The staff have been so helpful and kind and we could talk to them any time within reason, not disturbing them as they work their duties. The staff were so polite and
friendly asking if we needed a drink for my friend. For the short time my friend was in Aberford Hall it made the difference. As a family we are grateful for the way she was treated and were not judged by anyone. Thank you this does ease pain for the loss of my friend.

The home is very good. The staff treat my mother very well, the food etc is always very good. The major problem is there is a lack of space and access to the outside world without going out ie. a sun room to the garden where when visiting it would be possible to sit in some privacy and space with relatives.
Also for the residents to enjoy the outside world in summer without sitting in the breeze.

My father was moved into Aberford Hall directly from hospital. The transition was as smooth as it could have been and the staff and management were helpful and reassuring from the start. Dad has settled in quickly and full thanks to the efforts of the staff. He is both cared for and stimulated. Aberford
Hall has regular social events for the patients. The premises and room are clean and tidy and the food and drink is both regular and of a high standard. The benefits to dad from being in Aberford Hall are clear to see.

I am very pleased with the care and attention my mum receives, she is very happy there,
the only thing that my husband and I would like to see is a sun-room or conservatory to the back of the building adjoining the sitting room, where family and friends can sit together when visiting, when more than
two visit it is too cramped in the bedrooms, and sitting in the lounge we don't get any privacy.

When my mum reached the stage where we had to accept that mum could no longer manage her own house, we looked at several care homes for her. Some we could not have contemplated letting her move into. On an initial visit to Aberford Hall appeared to be by far the best available over the next two and
a half years until mum passed away, our judgement proved to be totally correct. Mum was very happy and made new friends. All levels of cleanliness, staff attitudes, activities for mental stimulation for residents and support by staff for both mum and ourselves was excellent. I would have no hesitation in recommending Aberford Hall to anyone who requires this type of facility for a relative.

From the moment we arrived at Aberford Hall, we just knew it was the right place for Dad. So much so, it was the only place we viewed.
It had a real feeling of belonging, right from the start and staff soon felt like extended family members.
The place was warm, welcoming, clean & fresh and the residents
looked happy.
The rooms are adequate and kept clean. They have their own laundry, so clothes are washed and returned quickly.
The meals are exceptional. We know because at times we also ate them (all freshly prepared) and very much appreciated, Thank you.

The entertainments lady is always busy organizing sing-a-longs; bingo etc and they have regular themed events throughout the seasons.
Dad was only there for a short while but the care he received in that time was above and beyond, all the staff were wonderful, not only did they take great care of Dad but they also cared for us as well. Thank you so much.


We would not need to think twice about recommending this HOME from HOME.

What does ‘kindness’ mean to you?


“Kind care is always showing kindness and dignity, respecting others, being friendly and approachable and showing empathy in all aspects of care.”


As a Health Care Professional, Michelle has gained a wealth of experience in providing care and nursing support to elderly people, to enrich their lives. She is a knowledgeable and dedicated leader who is passionate about delivering the highest standards of care and quality of life for Residents.


Having worked at HC-One for many years, Michelle closely shares HC-One’s vision is aiming to provide the kindest care for each and every Resident. She extends this caring approach to her Colleagues and works closely with them to deliver care and support to Residents in a way that they gain the most benefit, in a warm and welcoming home.


When asked what she enjoys most about her role, Michelle remarked:


“I like to make a difference to my Resident's lives and ensure they are getting the best care they possibly can.”


Michelle has also achieved much outside of work, with her proudest achievement being becoming Home Manager at Aberford Hall having worked at the home for 18 years progressing through various roles.


Outside of work, Michelle enjoys spending quality time with her family.
