I enjoy being here. I think the staff are very nice and the meals are ok. The room is kept clean. I've been here just over 6 years and enjoy myself. I can do as I please and come and go when I want.

Each time I visit my dad I am really pleased with all the staff who work there re- care, kindness, politeness, cleanliness and helpful I could go on. I know my dad is in good hands and if any issues we are always informed.

Halcyon Court is an excellent care home for my elderly mother. The staff are outstanding in the work they do and the high level of care of my mother. They have adapted for her care needs as they develop. We live abroad and are not able to be in the UK as much as we would wish but we have grown to trust
and have a high degree of confidence in Halcyon Court, their staff and their care. A good-humoured, professional, sensitive and attentive team.

Halcyon Court provides good care for their residents. However, certain elements need attention. Cleaning:- resident's rooms are not thoroughly cleaned. Their toilets need better attention. Repairs:- rooms/toilets need decorating. Training for new staff:- new staff can't make a bed correctly and don't
know how to dress the resident. Washing: - the clothes are lost, not ironed and not put away carefully (just pushed in the drawers/wardrobe).

Very disappointed in the care for my friend who had respite care in the dementia section. The room was spartan and far from clean as was the bathroom next door. The bathroom was not en-suite as advertised ("71 rooms 71 en-suite"). Very little stimulation for residents and it gives the appearance of
being understaffed.

The staff at Halcyon Court are caring and responsive. Mum was unhappy at having to move into residential after becoming too frail to live at home.
Staff have taken time to talk to Mum and get to know her.
They have kept to her routine and made sure she has food choices she likes.
Any concerns have
been promptly and efficiently attended to by the manager.
Within two weeks Mum is happy and feels safe.

Very professional yet very caring towards our friend. Could deal with his foibles and strange habits. Staff were friendly and welcoming.


He returned from the hospital under continuing care - end of life, for his last 7 days and was cared for with love, concern and respect. He was comfortable, clean

and treated with so much concern.

My mum seems to be very settled at Halcyon Court. She loves the food and the staff seem to genuinely care about the residents - my mum says they would do anything for you. Her room is lovely and cleaned regularly. She has a group of friends and enjoys some of the activities. It is very easy to communicate
with management - they are approachable and friendly. My mum doesn't shower or change her clothes as often as we would like but that could be down to her not wanting to and I appreciate the staff's hard work and are short of time.

My mother was a reluctant resident in the home. The staff and administration worked very hard consistently over her first six weeks to make her welcome and address her needs. They really tried very hard to win her over. The quality of catering varies. There was a disappointment with the time it took
to address some maintenance issues but not the fault of this home or staff, more the policy fo the Anchor Group.
Care needs are being continuously assessed and addressed. Hospital appointments are well arranged and organised. This is an excellent care home.

We were very dubious about putting Mum in a care home. After visiting Halcyon Court we were very pleased. The staff are very helpful and caring. Nothing seems to be too much trouble. Every query I have had has been dealt with promptly and efficiently. I couldn't be happier with our choice of care home

The overall standard of care is good although the home is sometimes hampered by staff sickness and lack of back up. More care could be had with the personal effects of the residents. Food is good and as is the dignity the staff give to residents.

Thank you for your comments; we welcome feedback and always use it to improve the service we provide. Our regular staff can often help out when there is staff sickness and we also have dedicated bank staff who will step in and cover when needed. I understand that recently, there was an unusual situation whereby several staff were sick at short notice and it took some time to arrange full cover. Due to room vacancies, staffing levels were adequate but we accept that this made staff extremely busy. This was an exceptional circumstance but in light of this occurrence, we are currently recruiting more bank staff.
