Colton Lodges Care Home, situated in the historic town of Colton, near Leeds, supports older people to lead their best lives with personalised residential, nursing and dementia care.

Colton Lodges offers a comfortable home for all residents. There are many areas for residents to relax and unwind as well as engage in hobbies and interests. The onsite café and conservatory provides residents with areas to socialise with one another and their relatives.

Nurses, staff all extremely helpful and caring. Residents are cared for and helped first class, plenty of activities for residents and visitors. Office staff willing to help and advise if you have any issues. Excellent.

During our mother's stay in the nursing unit, she received first class care. Professional, respectful, sensitive, caring and friendly, are all descriptive of the level of care she received. We never had any worries about her well-being during her time there.

My sister has been a resident for 5 and a half years.
At all times with the odd exception, her needs have been dealt with. Concerns have been there, I have had a sympathetic response and management have endeavoured to correct them.
All in all, I have found things generally satisfactory.

The staff and carers are exceptionally dedicated people who have consistently helped and cared for my mum. The facility is well kept, clean, bright and airy, and being all single storey, all residents can see outside with grassed areas, trees and gardens all around. Meals are basic but appetizing with
ample portions and choices of menu items offered, which I know is not always the case in other homes. In summary, I am glad we found Colton Lodges to look after Mum.

I cannot praise the nurses and carers highly enough for the wonderful care my mother received in Whitkirk House at Colton Lodges. She was always shown great respect, kindness and affection and I felt she was safe and among friends. The staff also showed great kindness to me, particularly during my mother's
final days and it was a comfort to feel how loved she was. Thank you so much!

Staff very friendly and polite but overstretched. Not enough carers for the volume of residents.
Good variation of meals/food but hot meals sometimes barely warm.
Generally room clean and tidy but there have been occasions where I've had to pick things up, tissues etc.
Residents room looking tired,
a fresh coat of paint needed.

The staff and management are very friendly, supportive and caring and nothing ever seems too much trouble for them. The food is very good and there is a good selection of meals to choose from. There is also a variety of drinks hot or cold they can have. The room my wife is in is ideal for her and is
kept clean and tidy as is the rest of the building. I consider the home to be excellent and would recommend it to anyone.

Very good experience, lots of things to do and people to do things with. Enjoyed all the games we played, just wish there were some more outdoor activities. The staff were all very experienced in their different fields.

My mum has dementia.
The home and carers have been so kind. The manager has been very professional and has always been available which has helped our experience. We would all recommend the home.

My gran was in this home for a few months. She had been poorly for a while. I think the staff were very kind and the manager who I saw a couple of times was always friendly.
We didn't have any complaints and I would recommend the home to people living nearby.
The home could do with some money spending
on it but it was the care that was more important and we were happy with that.

Danielle

Danielle Longthorn

Job Title: Home Manager

“For me, kind care is treating everyone with respect and dignity, while offering choice and promoting independence.”


As a Registered Nurse, Danielle has gained a wealth of experience in providing care and nursing support to elderly people, to enrich their lives. She is a knowledgeable and dedicated leader who is passionate about delivering the highest standards in care and quality of life for Residents.


Danielle chose to become Home Manager at Colton Lodges as she closely shares HC-One’s vision in aiming to provide the kindest care for each and every Resident. She extends this caring approach to her Colleagues and works closely with them to deliver care and support to Residents in a way that they gain the most benefit, in a warm and welcoming home.


When asked what she enjoys most about her role, Danielle remarked:


“Making a difference to people’s lives, it’s a pleasure to see our Resident’s living happy and fulfilled lives.”


Outside of work, Danielle is a devoted wife and mother to two boys who enjoys travelling to America, she hopes to visit all 52 states in her lifetime. In her spare time, she is a big supporter of football, rugby, American football and ice hockey.
