After viewing various care homes we came across this home, my father spent the last 8 months of his life there and he was so happy. All the staff and carers go above and beyond to make your loved ones feel as if they are one of their own, food menu and activities are high on their list to see what could
be done better as the staff and management are very forward thinking. They have meetings with the loved ones of residents in the home and also arrange cocktails and quizzes and barbecues. A big thanks to all at Harewood Court.

My dad has been a resident since June 2023. I could not begin to thank the staff for all the care and support he and our family receive. All his needs are met, even down to the food which he really enjoys. The peace of mind Harewood Court gives us is unbelievable. I could not thank them enough.

Hardwood Court is a lovely Care Home for any family members. The care home is of a high standard, very clean and very welcoming, it's just like a hotel or home from home. The staff are absolutely amazing and so is the management. I have never had any complaints about anything to report because everything
is as it should be. The staff cannot do enough for you, they are all amazing. My friend has been in the care home for three years now and I always look forward to going to see her. I have been in other care homes in the past, visiting my friends and the care home hasn't been as nice as this one. Hardwood Court is the place I would like to live in should I need care in the future.

Although I am pleased with certain aspects Harewood Court has, trying to arrange visits and access the building is difficult. Also at weekends staff numbers seem depleted. The staff are friendly though and the nursing staff are helpful as is the manager.

Current Review Score: 8.2 (8.245)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.2 (8.245) out of 10 for Harewood Court Nursing Home & Specialist Dementia Unit is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 2 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.4 out of 5 from 2 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.870 for Harewood Court Nursing Home & Specialist Dementia Unit is calculated as follows: ( (20 Excellents x 5) + (3 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 23 Ratings = 4.87

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 3.375 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Harewood Court Nursing Home & Specialist Dementia Unit is based on 2 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 = 3.125

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 40 registered maximum number of service users is 8. 2 Positive Reviews ÷ 8 = 0.25

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
