Croft House Care Home is part of the Countrywide Care Homes Group - one of the UK's leading care home providers.

The home is located in Ossett and specialises in the provision of nursing, residential dementia and nursing dementia care for 66 residents.

The 4 units at the home have been fully refurbished in April 2021 and Croft House has a number of communal areas including spacious lounge and dining areas, quiet lounges, sensory room, garden room, hairdressing salon and beautiful gardens.

The majority of bedrooms have en-suite facilities. There are bath and shower facilities available on each floor.

Croft House Care Home has a dedicated activities coordinator who provides a varied programme of activities. Outings are also arranged on a monthly basis to local places of interests including the garden centre, White Rose shopping centre and parks.

Very pleased with all the staff at Croft House. My father is well looked after and cared for...nothing is too much trouble. Just a couple of settling issues, but that is because my father has moved from Liverpool to Croft House.

It's always hard when we entrust our loved ones into the care of others, but I am so happy I did. Dad moved into Croft House in mid-October and settled from day one. The whole team are amazing people, so genuine, extremely caring and passionate about the difficult job they do. Dad is so happy and is
always nicely presented, treated with respect and dignity with plenty of activities to join in with. Even in this short space of time, he has made good friends with other residents. The food is outstanding! All staff I have met have been very approachable and seem to go the 'extra mile', and this is shown in the lovely, warm, friendly, family environment within the home. I cannot thank all these wonderful individuals enough and look forward to meeting the rest of the Croft House team.

Since my mum moved into Croft House Care Home in August 2020, during lockdown, I have not even seen inside so it is difficult to give an accurate review. However, all the staff I have dealt with have been friendly and helpful. My mum seems to be settled there and has a good relationship with the staff.
Weekly Zoom sessions are good, but could do with more staff doing them. In summary, I am very happy with my mum's care.

My husband has received excellent care and I have been well supported throughout the difficult process of letting your loved one move into care. My husband has been treated with respect and dignity. Nothing appears too much trouble for all the staff in every department that I have come into contact
with. When I’m emotional, they are prepared to listen. They are willing to listen to any suggestions I make. They are quick to respond to emergency health situations. They keep me informed of any changes in my husband's health. On the phone they appear genuinely interested in my husband and his life history. In this time of COVID 19 it is difficult to only be allowed only one visit a week, however, through their dedication and restriction measures, they have protected all the residents in the home. I feel I have a long way to go before fully accepting the process of my husband going into care. But, I am certain that the process will be less difficult as I will be fully supported by the staff.

We wondered why our father doesn't get taken on any outings anymore. The first couple of years he was taken out on various occasions. He hasn't been taken anywhere for at least 18-months. Yet we pay for raffle tickets and other things that were meant to go towards outings, but the money was spent on
a bench for the village.

I am so happy with the care my mum has received since moving here in August 2018 that I have asked if my brother can be moved here from his current care home. It is friendly, clean and the food is excellent. All the staff from laundry, cleaning, kitchen, carers, nurses, volunteers, admin and the manager
are always friendly and helpful.

Great care, all questions answered. Well looked after, you know when you can't visit that you don't have to worry at all. Can't fault any of the staff in care or food, beautiful food, and Birthday cakes are provided for the resident's to share between them. Lovely atmosphere.

Croft House Care Home has looked after my friend for the past 10 months. He settled in very quickly after he was released from hospital. Staff very friendly and helpful some more than others. Some staff don't have answers to questions when asked and don't appear to be bothered that they can't help you.
When senior staff are asked they explain the problem I have by checking records etc. Staffing levels are always low. His clothes are marked with name and room number but now and then he wears clothes that don't belong to him, other male residents can be seen wearing his clothes. Underpants and sock disappear never to be seen again, ladies trousers have been found in his drawers/wardrobe. The home is kept clean and tidy all residents are well cared for and respected. The food is good and he enjoys all meals (had no complaints so far). More training for junior/ younger members of staff may be helpful.

When you arrive at this establishment there is always a welcoming smile on the faces of the staff, who are also very hardworking and very caring. My sister was welcomed here with open arms and it is always a pleasure to visit her here. As a family, we all have peace of mind knowing that she is safe,

Croft House Care Home has looked after my father for the last 6 months. The staff are very professional and are brilliant and always friendly. They look after dad very well (not always easy). The food is good and he enjoys most meals. Staff at Croft House Care Home always keep us informed if dad is
unwell or if he needs hospital care. This allows us to attend hospital with him. Dad is safe and secure. My brother and I are very happy with the care dad receives and would recommend to others. A big thank you to all the staff.

My mother entered this wonderful care home after having broken her pelvis, hip and knee. Mum was transferred from a hospital in Manchester to come and live near my family. The hard-working staff are so welcoming and helped mum to settle into this private home. The nursing care is exemplary and has dealt
with my mum's health in a dignified way. The manager is always on site checking on her staff and residents which is a very good thing. Plus there is an excellent entertainment programme for residents but relatives are always welcome to join in.


The food is homemade and always warm. The rooms are kept clean and tidy and Mum was provided with an air flow bed which has prevented bed sores. The care workers are absolutely amazing and work so hard to ensure all residents are cared for in an efficient and kind manner. When I leave, I feel confident that Mum is safe and well cared for.

My mum was a resident of Croft House from December 2011 to April 2015 after having a severe stroke. The care she received was very good. She enjoyed her meals and was always made comfortable. Her was room kept clean. She enjoyed the banter and one to ones with the activity coordinator and stuff. Mum
related the staff as her extended family. Some days the nursery suite was very short staffed but the carers did their best. This is what persuaded me to do voluntary work after mum passed away in 2014. To give some care and kindness back. The staff make me very welcome. The home is kept clean and the carers do their best, even when staffing levels are low.

My sister was admitted on Monday 13th August 2018 with end of life care.
From the moment I walked in, the staff were amazing.
So compassionate and caring.
Nothing was too much trouble, and that went for every single one of them.
It was a very clean place with nice décor.
A lovely conservatory was
at the back which I used for quiet contemplation now and then.
I even took a brochure to look at with a view to admitting my mum, when the time comes, who has Alzheimer's.

My Mum went into this Nursing home for Palliative Care, she spent 3 weeks in here. The staff are amazing, caring and go out of they're way to make you feel comfy.
The care my mum had was brilliant. I would definitely recommend this nursing home 100%. Thank you.

During the time my mum was a resident at Croft House Care Home we never had an occasion to show concern or complain of any aspect regarding the care and wellbeing of my mum. After our visits and on returning home it was safe in the knowledge that my mum was very well looked after. The patients of the
staff was exemplary and never at any time did my mum make any comment to the contrary. I cannot see how you can improve on this.

Rob Ashton

Job Title: Care Home Manager

Hello and welcome to Croft House, my name is Rob, and I am the Home Manager, I took up this position in May 2022 after moving from down south to North Yorkshire (Scarborough) in November 2021.


I have worked all my adult life in health & social care starting at 20 years old as a healthcare assistant. I have worked in many varied roles during this time and gained my NVQ Level 4 Registered Managers Award in 2005. For the past 15 years, I have been a home manager working for a number of large care home providers.


Croft House is a lovely home with a super team of staff who really care about the people who live here. It has been a real joy working with people who have shown such enthusiasm to enhance the lives of those living with us and be able to provide the best care in the most dignified way. I believe it’s a team effort, and encourage all of the staff to share ideas to continually improve how we care for and support the people who live here, their loved ones and family.

Hello, I am Adam Deputy Manager at Croft House, I took up this position in June 2022, but have worked at the home since 2005 at the age of 18 as a Carer. I have progressed with the support of the company and before taking up the role of deputy manager I was a care practitioner. My knowledge and experience are working with people living with dementia, I get great satisfaction from seeing people thrive in our community and supporting them to live their best life possible.


I am enjoying the new challenges that being part of the management team brings and I am looking forward to making a positive contribution to the smooth running of the home.


Outside of my busy role, my hobbies are walking my dog, Henry, and spending time with my family.

Hello, I’m Cath the Business Administrator at Croft House.


After many years in the legal sector, I decided it was time for a change and joined Croft House last year. I enjoy working at Croft House and love that my role keeps me busy and that no two days are the same. The home is very welcoming which has helped me settle into my new role.


I enjoy getting to know all those who live with us as well as meeting all the different family members who visit their loved ones. I am always happy to help, and if there is a problem I will always do my best to find the best and most suitable resolution.


My personal hobbies include listening to Bruce Springsteen and anything ’80s related, walking my dog, Marlene and spending time with her grandchildren.

Julie Collier

Job Title: Receptionist

Hello, my name is Julie and I’m the receptionist at Croft House, I’ve been working here since December 2021.


You will find me sitting at the main entrance to the home ready to greet you with a big smile and a warm welcome. I am usually the first person to answer any telephone calls coming into the home and, will do my very best to help you or point you in the right direction.


Part of my job role is to show people around the home, and this is something I really enjoy, so if you are looking for a care home for yourself or your loved one, I would be very happy to have a chat and show you around our lovely home.


We work as a good team together and are all very conscientious about our roles within the home.


I used to be a care assistant and loved my job, but unfortunately, I had to give it up due to a car accident, but it is lovely to be able to work within the care community again in a different role.


I have had a varied career path since I started work in 1975, from a Shoe Shop Assistant, Asda Wines & Spirits Supervisor, licensed Public House, and a catering assistant, as you can see, I’ve always enjoyed working with the public.


This is a lovely, rewarding job to be in and a happy home too.

Job Title: Lifestyle Coordinator

Hello, my name is Siobhan and I am one half of our lifestyle team here at Croft House.


I came to Croft House as a carer back in 2017 and then moved into the domestic team in 2020 after showing I had a passion for the environment and attention to detail worked in the domestic team during the Covid pandemic.


In June 2021 a position of Lifestyle Coordinator came up at the home and realising how much I missed the interaction with the people who live with us so I applied for the position and was delighted when I got the job.


This has to be the best job in a care home. Every day there is laughter and fun at home and Terri and I enjoy putting together some great activities for the people who live with us and arranging trips out.

Terri Miller

Job Title: Lifestyle Coordinator

Joined: 2017

Hello, I am Terri, the other half of the lifestyle team at Croft House. I came to the home in 2017 as a carer where I worked until September 2021 when the position of Lifestyle Coordinator came up. I had worked with Siobhan in care before she went to the domestic team so I knew we would make a good team and enhance the lifestyle offering we currently had at the home.

I love how much fun we have at the home with the people who live with us Siobhan and I spend time together planning activities but as our home is person-centred if the residents decide they don't want to do the activity, we have to quickly put our thinking caps on and come up with something else. There is never a dull day here and seeing the residents happy and enjoying themselves is the part I love the most.
