My father came into the home. The care and support he has received has been very good. The cleanliness of the home and my father's room is excellent. The staff have treated my father with dignity, which to me has been very important. Staff have been understanding and supportive after making the decision
that my father needed to be cared for in the home. The meals that my father has been offered is good and he is enjoying the meals that he has had.

I am very happy with my mother's care, she is well cared for. The staff are all lovely and I know that they really do care for her. She is well presented, clean and well fed! If there is a problem of any kind I am informed (telephone or when I visit).


My only concern, and it is a very small one,

is the rooms could be updated and more modern, but other than that, all is fine.

In general, the care provided to our relative is good. The only issues we have had are the attitude of some of the older members of staff. They show lack of compassion and come across as impatient. The younger members of staff seem to have more time and explain what they are doing try to put our relative
at ease.

A very welcoming friendly home. All staff are wonderful and genuinely kind and concerned for their service users. My Mum has had the best care that could be possible. Everyone is well trained. They are very down to earth and full of good humour. Sympathetic at the right moments. A joy to visit.

We are generally happy with the care my mother receives at Hemsworth. The staff appear to care about the resident's welfare and are friendly to visitors.
The provision of stimulation for dementia sufferers appears to be difficult.

My husband and I have been happy with the care given to my mother in law. She well cared for, clean and looked after physically.
The staff at the home are friendly and welcoming but I feel they could interact more with the residents. Some activities are provided by an activities coordinator but on
a general basis, I feel that a member of staff should always sit with the residents in case any fell or just to provide conversation.

I know the staff have a lot of paperwork, but I really think there should be someone around to deal with everything that happens.
Don't think there is enough supervision/staff presence in the lounge. We saw a man fall. (I have seen bullying).
I bring magazines and take the old ones home.
Residents
say there are not enough activities/interaction. I have brought crossword books. No one helps to complete them.

Horrible from day 1 of my sisters stay. Not helpful staff underfed, and left to her own devices. Pet name was given and used. Always strong odour of urine and patio now has private homes overlooking it so not private at all. Residents just left on the bed no activities ever done with my sister who is
very abled. Complained before to staff and just got looked at and talked about. Horrendous food, my two year old eats more. Sisters room freezing as radiator turned down very low not just now, every visit

Seconded from Pinderfields Hospital for approximately 5 weeks. As a short time resident I have been well treated. Amenities in the home are good and staff do their best with very tight schedules to keep.
