I am pleased to find that following the respite care that your dad received you have made the decision to make him a permanent person in the home. It was lovely to read that on all your visits you find the staff always friendly, kind and that our people in the home are treated with respect. Our staff at Castleford will always support in any way that they can. It is nice to read that your mum well looked after and that she is happy at the home, I will pass your kind words on to the whole team. I will also pass on to the kitchen staff that that the meals are always nice and that there is plenty of choices. I see that your mum enjoys the puddings and the home made cakes but I cant blame her. Thank you for your review for Castleford Lodge Nursing Home. I am sorry that the experience that both you and your mother had while she was staying at the home was not an enjoyable one. Following your mum's stay the home has a new manager in post and is focused on ensuring that the people that are living at Castleford are safe as well as looked after with a high equality of care, dignity and respect being delivered. The home also is focused on ensuring that the people in the home are involved in activities that have a person-centred approach. New activities are in place and regular resident and relative meetings now take place once a month allowing people to have their say on what they wish to be achieving while living in the environment. The new manager has an open door policy and welcomes families to come and discuss concerns that they may have as well as positive feedback

My name is Sarah, and I'm the interim Home Manager for Castleford Lodge Nursing Home. Since joining Orchard Care Homes, I've been lucky enough to work in several of our Yorkshire care homes, including Lofthouse Grange & Lodge and Nesfield Lodge.
