My mum has been in Manor Park for seven years, first, in the downstairs dementia unit, she was in the unit for five years and moved upstairs two years ago. My sister and I would see mum almost every day. The staff are lovely and kind people always smile and say hello and always there to offer help or
give advice. I have had experience of other care homes, but this is the one I would recommend to anyone who was looking for care for their loved one. We have not had many problems over the years but when problems have occurred the staff were helpful and always helped solve the problems. My mum is 77 years old and in the last stages of dementia. Thank you.

My Mum is a resident on the EMI nursing unit The carers and nurses look after her extremely well and are very friendly and very approachable. I have peace of mind my Mum is being looked after to the best of their abilities. This is very important to me, being able to trust carers to look after my Mum
in a responsible and professional manner. My Mum has been a resident since March 2016 and as her needs change her care is reviewed.

When my father stayed at Manor Park, it felt that many of the staff did not care about their job or the residents. There were no activities (they did not have a co-ordinator). Access to care plans is not readily available, and requests for information were treated as an inconvenience. My father was
not treated with dignity and we could not wait to move him out.

Reply from Keely Robinson, Marketing at Manor Park Care Home

Manor Park welcomes all feedback both positive and negative. We have a dedicated team of professional nurses and carers and continually strive to provide excellent quality of care to all our services users. Our residents are at the very heart of everything we do and we were deeply saddened that a family member felt we had failed to do that in any way. We have introduced several new initiative this year including new spring/summer menus, activity programmes and electronic care plan & documentation systems. Our residents and their families are encouraged to attend care plan reviews and regular meeting to promote partnership working and inclusion. We will continue to seek improvements, promote person centred care, reflect on practice and educate our team in order to provide them with the knowledge and skills needed to carry out theirs valued roles within the Home.

  • a) The Average Rating is 1.9 out of 5 from 1 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 0.0 out of 5 from 0 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 1.917 for Manor Park Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (2 Satisfactorys x 3) + (7 Poors x 2) + (3 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 12 Ratings = 1.917

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 0 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Manor Park Care Home is based on 0 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) =

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 75 registered maximum number of service users is 15. 0 Positive Reviews ÷ 15 = 0

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
