I was very apprehensive of my uncle going into a care home after being so independent. However, I can honestly say he is very happy. He says the quality of care is brilliant as are the staff and I am really happy with all the support they have provided. I would recommend Priory Gardens Care Home to
anyone considering care for their loved ones.

The staff here is remarkable- nothing is too much trouble for them to do. The home is impeccably clean and odour free, not like some other nursing homes I have been to. If ever I got any complaint where I might need to be in a nursing home I would have to be here. It is perfection in this home. The
staff is pleasant but professional at the same time.

My Uncle came to Priory gardens for end of life care. Throughout his final weeks, he was treated with care and compassion by all the staff who he came into contact with. They saw the person, not just the patient. He was joking and interacting right to the end and that was due to the connections that
the staff made with him. This is a fantastic place. A real home from home.

The home and staff are excellent. Mum seems happy so we are happy too. The only negative is the telephone system. Sometimes it takes a long time to speak to someone. Overall, we are very happy with Priory Gardens.

Overall I think the home does a good job. The only slight fault is my Dad has to ask for a shower or bath and sometimes can be two or three weeks between which I feel is too long.

My father in law is being looked after so kindly and whatever time we ring, nothing is too much for them. I went for my first indoor visit on the 11th of March and it was such a wonderful atmosphere. My wife can't visit as she is critically vulnerable. Improvement to what they do is impossible. Well

My Gran has been here since the pandemic started and the staff here have been great at helping us keep in touch with her. Sometimes it's hard to get to video call but the window visits have been amazing. All the staff have a smile on their face and my Gran tells us that everyone is nice. Such a welcoming
care home.

Mum needed 24-hour end of life care in 2019. We visited all the nursing homes within the area unannounced on a Saturday morning to try and get a feel for one that was right for mum. On arrival at Priory Gardens, a carer welcomed and chatted with us to see what we were looking for. She then took us for
a tour of the home. First impressions were, very clean, tidy and most important, it didn't feel like a nursing home. Upstairs, lovely rooms, clean, the visitor's kitchen and restroom are spacious and comfortable with Tea and Coffee facilities. All the staff cared for mum and was made to feel at home like one of the family from day one. We had an issue with the food being served to mum and made an official complaint. This was dealt with promptly by the home manager and she resolved the issues we had. As mum approached the end of life, we cannot thank the staff enough for the care, love and compassion they showed her. We would highly recommend Priory Gardens.

I was very anxious when our Nan decided she wanted to go to a care home, especially as she had always expressed she would hate it and I have seen some that are not so great. We took her around a few and could tell immediately she liked it at Priory Gardens, we got a warm welcome and a cuppa, always
a good start. She has been there for a year now. The staff are amazing. She has mixed dementia and is very prone to urine infections, but they know her so well, they see the smallest change and get her on antibiotics. Her room is lovely, looking out over the garden and trees. It is clean, and we have been allowed to make it her own sanctuary. She tells us the food is good, especially the cakes! We are always kept up to date with her plan of care, and if anything changes, this is reviewed. It has been a tough year not being able to visit her as normal, but we know she is in safe hands and that reassures us. She likes the staff, and they can have a banter which is important to her. Thank you!

The staff are most welcoming to visitors as is the building itself offering a clean and warm pleasant ambience. The range of activities are impressive. Foods offered to residents looks wholesome, tasty and varied. The staff appear to have a good rapport with the residents, in my opinion, are doing an

Old people enjoy 'traditional' food (e.g. Roast beef and Yorkshire pudding) rather than things like pasta and other savoury food. Most have been brought up on a diet of meat and potato pie, stew and dumplings etc.

Mum went to Priory Gardens needing 24/7 care, after badly breaking her leg, which is in a brace, non-weight bearing. From the moment mum arrived, she felt at home, all the staff from the managers, carers, nursing to the chef are always smiling, friendly and very very caring. Holding residents hands
and giving them cuddles are a daily occurrence and is lovely to see and means a lot to the residents. Mum's room has a nice garden view and like the rest of Priory Gardens, it is spotlessly clean. The equipment mum needs to move her, were all there and in place, special mattress, rotary stand etc. Mum is not a big eater, but the chefs delicious meals have tempted her and she is eating really well, she tells me his homemade Yorkshire puddings are like her own. There is regular entertainment from Bingo, Bollywood Dancers, Sing-a-longs and that's just in the last two weeks. I feel so lucky mum is in Priory Gardens because I know she is in a safe and very caring place, this is a really good feeling for family members to have. Many many thanks to everyone at Priory Gardens.

What does ‘kindness’ mean to you?


“Kindness to me, means being generous, helpful and caring at all times.”


As a Registered Nurse, Allison has gained a wealth of experience in providing care and nursing support to elderly people, to enrich their lives. She is a knowledgeable and dedicated leader who is passionate about delivering the highest standards in care and quality of life for Residents.


Having worked at Priory Gardens for over a year, Allison now closely shares HC-One’s vision in aiming to provide the kindest care for each and every Resident. She extends this caring approach to her Colleagues and works closely with them to deliver care and support to Residents in a way that they gain the most benefit, in a warm and welcoming home.


She also works hard to arrange events and activities with nearby schools and clubs and is always keen to include the local community in life at Priory Gardens.


When asked what she enjoys most about her role, Allison remarked:


“I get huge satisfaction out of making the Residents lives at Priory more fulfilling and bringing a smile to their faces.”


Outside of work, Allison enjoys spending time with her family, especially her two new grandchildren, and enjoys reading a good book.
