Mallard Court provides 24-hour nursing care and personal support to older people, older people with disabilities, older people with sensory loss and older people living with dementia, offered expert support in a dedicated Memory Lane Community. The home also offers respite care and short breaks.

Set in its own extensive, wheelchair accessible gardens, located just a mile away from Bridlington town centre and half a mile from beautiful blue flag beaches, the home is sited on a quiet residential estate and is easily accessible by road.

Care and support at Mallard Court is delivered through personalised care planning, a process that begins with an assessment, carried out before admission where possible, and completed with the individual concerned, together with relatives.

Information is built upon admission and at regular reviews. It covers areas like needs, risks, likes and dislikes, so it provides a basis for areas as diverse as deciding about activities programmes and external contacts, looking at any rehabilitative medical needs and discussions with the chef about diet (who will tailor meal choices to the individual).

The team and any relevant health professional are an important element of the system when carrying out regular reviews and updates with the individuals and relatives.

On visiting my step mum I find the staff welcoming and supportive. The staff during sensitive times ie Covid have put health and safety protection in place as I arrive.
The home is very spacious and homely including the lounge that looks onto a lovely garden area. As is my step mum's room, which has
her personal effects/belongings available either in the bathroom or bedroom having her own wardrobe/drawers/television/pictures all around her.
I have witnessed regular varied activities organised to entertain the residents to suit their individual wishes and needs, which I sometimes join in with.
I love the openness of the rooms and that doors are open if no personal situation is in place which means I can say hello/engage other residents putting a smile on their faces.
The home is situated in a lovely area on the edge of Bridlington which has easy access to Carnaby/Driffield/Beverley/Scarborough and the East Coast.

We required emergency care for my parents after a nasty fall, by my Mother who was the primary carer for my Father, everything was sorted within a couple of hours, Dad was admitted that day and settled in straight away, he loved the staff, food and surroundings.
When Mum left hospital, she joined
him in the same room, again no issues at all, from management, admin, catering and care staff. Everyone cared and looked after them.
We as visitors were always welcomed and cared for. I think special mention should be made for the night shift who went above and beyond when a couple of medical issues occurred.

My husband was in the dementia unit. The carers were lovely and tried their best to help my husband. There were not enough of them however and they were run off their feet. Some carers did not know how to do stoma bags or convene attachments. There were sometimes difficulties when agency staff came
as they were not knowledgeable about the patients. The regular staff, however, were all very friendly and warm hearted and the food was good.

The manager, unit manager and lifestyle coordinators have really helped my mum settle in and all the nurses and carers are so good and help my mum and give her the best care possible.

Mum began her stay at Mallard Court, Bridlington, in early January 2024. Sadly, but not unexpectedly, she died in early April 2024. Although fiercely independent and so somewhat resentful of the fact that she now needed full-time care (as she had a terminal cancer diagnosis) Mum soon settled into Mallard
and began to appreciate that she was safe, cared for, warm and well-fed. She had many visitors and most afternoons were busy for her. As her son, I was a frequent visitor and soon got to know the staff and formed an opinion of Mum’s new home. We could not have wanted more - Mum was so well looked after in what we felt was an excellent and very well-run care home. There were nurses on hand for any medical problems, she was kept scrupulously clean and her favourite foods were prepared for her as needed. There was daily entertainment provided by the home and her relatives and friends were welcome 24 hours a day. Thank you to all at Mallard - five stars plus!

Barchester Mallard Court Care Home is a really lovely place with a good standard of modern facilities. The atmosphere was warm and the staff are all very friendly and helpful. They try to make the residents feel at home by making their bedrooms homely with their own belongings. They also do their best

Mum has been extremely well cared for and looked after in the home. She has had a new lease of life. She has enjoyed crafting, watching films and dining with her new friends. Mum went in for respite care so I could have a holiday. We realised that she would be better cared for and enjoy more social

After looking at numerous care home facilities, we were so happy to visit Mallard Court and immediately felt it was the right place for our mum. The manager immediately did an assessment and helped immensely getting everything into place for Mum to be moved in on August 2nd. Even though it’s only been
a couple of weeks, we have been more than happy with the care and support given by all the staff and very impressed with the activities offered every day and how they try to involve Mum in all that is going on. This last Saturday was super fun with the Summer Fair! Thank you to everyone for making one of the most difficult decisions, made easier.

We, that is my husband and myself, visited my step-mum at Mallard Court yesterday, 6/8/23 and we were very pleased with the whole setup, the staff were friendly, welcoming and helpful. We enjoyed our visit with her spending time in the quiet room enjoying a cuppa and chatting with her and a member of
staff who put our minds at rest. Thank you so much, we went away feeling confident that she will be cared for unlike the last place she was in that had no safety aspects about it.

Always a pleasant experience to visit Mallard Court. Aways a friendly welcome from residents and staff alike. Super communal and break out areas that can be a comfortable and cosy one to one area or suitable for larger family groups. Plenty of games and activities to keep us occupied when we visit and

We were all very emotional about how much care, love, time and support had been given to ensure his birthday was so special. We
love visiting our friend and all our new friends we have come to know. Our friend is having a wonderful and amazing time. Last week he was able to visit war memorials and speak to a fellow engineer at a local garage, then fish and chips, all with some of his new friends. My father received both dementia and palliative care for the last four months of his life. During this period all the staff, particularly those of Memory lane (dementia care), provided thoughtful and caring support to both my father and my family. I would have no hesitation in recommending this care

My elderly mother (99-years-old) went to Mallard Court early in December for 3 weeks respite. However, after 2 weeks she became even frailer and died. The care and attention she received was absolutely fantastic. The staff from management to the entertainment officer could not be faulted. I already
knew that the home was good but not that good. If you have any doubts about one of your loved ones staying in Mallard you need not worry. To be quite frank, she was looked after so well I was glad that she was not in busy, overcrowded hospital. Well done to all at Mallard Court.

My beloved mother passed away in Mallard Court Care Home last week. She had been there for respite care for just over two weeks. All the staff without exception were kind, caring, friendly, cheerful and helpful in every way to my late mother and us, her family. I cannot praise the carers highly enough
for what can only be described as the love with which Mum was treated. If we had paid a million pounds we could not have found better, kinder or more loving care for Mum. Any problems we had with obtaining essential medication for Mum were dealt with by Mallard Court staff with the utmost speed and courtesy. The professionalism of each and every staff member is a shining light of perfection for which I shall always be grateful. Thank you, everyone at Mallard Court Care Home, for what you have done for my mother in her time of need. God bless you all.

Job Title: General Manager

Hi, my name is Ange and I am acting General Manager here at Mallard Court Care Home. Welcome to our website!


Thank you for taking the time to look further into what we have to offer to you or your loved one. Here is an opportunity to look at some of our staff team in the home, who all play a vital role in day-to-day life.


I started my career in care as a volunteer in day centres for adults with learning disabilities. I have looked after people with learning disabilities who lived with me in my own home and also provided respite for children with learning disabilities as well.


I moved over to Bridlington from Bradford over a number of years ago and applied for the position as a carer at Mallard Court. I was promoted to senior carer and eventually to the position of Care Practitioner before progressing to Unit Manager.


I work with a dedicated and supportive team who aim to achieve the best for the home. I look forward to welcoming you to our home.

Amy has worked in care since she was 19 years old and has been employed at Mallard Court for several years. Amy held the position of Senior Carer NVQ Level 3 and has now been promoted to Unit Manager on our Memory Lane.

Hi, my name is Steve, and I have been a Lifestyle Coordinator at Mallard Court since 2006, and have achieved the NAPA (National Association of Activity Providers) Level 2 Award in Activity Provision in the Care Sector.


We provide a wide range of activities for the people we support, as well as for their families and friends. I also love to have one-to-one chats with residents who like to reminisce about their lives over a cup of tea and some biscuits.


We have our own minibus and have fun days out sightseeing, having a picnic or going to a local pub for a drink and a meal. We also arrange for local artists to provide musical entertainment for everyone at Mallard Court.
