Craven Nursing Home is situated in the picturesque market town of Skipton, in its own grounds that have wonderful views over the countryside. They offer permanent Nursing and Dementia care, plus palliative care and respite options.

The modern, spacious, safe and friendly environment enables residents to relax, socialise and live as independently as possible whilst receiving the very best person-centred care.

Each of the 63 rooms has en suite facilities and is light, spacious and stylishly decorated. Residents are encouraged to personalise their rooms and make them as homely as possible. The home's lounges and day rooms are large and comfortable spaces that have been created with social interaction in mind.

Very clean and well-equipped nursing home.
Meals are plentiful and varied.
The rooms are modern and really nice.
Views are by the canal at the back and gorgeous.
As for the staff, outstanding.
The nurses on duty are highly professional and know exactly what to do at all times.
The carers are handpicked
I imagine for their caring nature.
They looked after dad through his latter stages of dementia like he was family.
Palliative care was given with great dignity and lots of attention.
A true credit to nursing and caring.
I felt welcome always and part of the whole big family.
My gratitude will be eternal.
I never worried about dads care and thank god I could sleep at night, unlike a previous care home.

My mother has been resident in this care home for over two years and has, at all times, been treated with respect, empathy and good humour. Across the board, staff are not only kind and polite to residents but also to relations and friends, willing to spare the time to chat and discuss any concerns
we may have. As a family we couldn't be happier with The Craven Nursing Home and are thankful for the support it provides.

My aunt is very well looked after and for 5 years I have been very happy with her care. The management and staff are very helpful and caring people.

The main thing for me is the wonderful care she is being given from all the staff. This has given me the assurance that she is in the best place to be in. I now have the confidence to take holiday breaks. I also like the regular update I am given on her condition.

I have worked here for over 20 years, starting as a Care Assistant in 2002. I have been a Registered General Nurse now for over 15 years. I was Clinical Lead on nights for a year before being promoted to Deputy Manager in January 2020, and subsequently Home Manager in June 2023.


My passion has always been Palliative/End of Life Care, being able to deliver Person-Centred Care, in a respectful and dignified way to our residents and giving support to our relatives.


I enjoy delivering the very best care to our residents with kindness, dignity, and compassion. We have very experienced and caring members of staff at Craven, and I am proud to be part of this fantastic team!
