My parents were resident in Long Meadows Nursing Home from February 21 to May 23. They were always treated with dignity and respect. Carers were unfailingly patient and kind. Communication with the manager and assistant manager was very good. Concerns and observations were acted on promptly. Staff,
including the manager, knew my parents well and responded caringly to their needs.
My parents were always in clean appropriate clothing. The interior and surroundings of the home were clean and welcoming. The food was good and alternatives were provided. Activities were regularly provided to engage those who chose to. Staff turnover during their stay was low and the manager was very supportive coming in at weekends and nights if problems arose. I shall be eternally grateful for the care they received.

My husband was here for a few weeks of emergency respite care. The home is clean and warm, and I found the Manager, and the staff, to be very friendly and caring. which gave me peace of mind and I can’t thank them enough for that. This was our first experience of care homes, and it was a very positive
one. I would recommend Long Meadows to anyone looking for a home to care for a loved one.

I really cannot speak highly enough of the manager and her staff at Long Meadows Nursing Home where my mum has been since January this year. Mum joined when the Covid-19 pandemic was at its height and during lockdown when things were very difficult for us all. I need not have worried as she was made
to feel very welcome and part of the family; she settled in remarkably quickly. The care that all the staff express is exceptional to residents and relations alike, a genuine kindness with warmth and compassion, nothing is too much trouble. Mum is now very settled and happy which is so reassuring, and of course, important for all her family to know that she feels this way. A big thank you to everyone who works at Long Meadows Nursing Home, no matter what part or role you play, you make a great team.

Thank you so much, Neil, for the kind review. We are a very caring home, and both staff and the management team go out of their way to ensure our residents are given the best care we can. Mum is now a member of our extended family, along with any member of her own family.

I would like to thank the manager and all the lovely staff for their kindness dedication and superb care they give to my husband.
This is a truly wonderful care home where the residents are their priority in every way. I can't praise them enough for the way they have welcomed my husband into their
care. He is a very quiet man but has settled in here really well which is very comforting to me.
They are also extremely helpful when I need to phone, nothing is too much trouble.
I would have no hesitation to recommend this home to anyone.
An absolute five-star rating in every way!
I am truly very grateful to you all.

I cannot speak highly enough of the new manager and her staff team in terms of their commitment to person-centred care and safety. My mother-in-law was able to have a special 90th birthday even at this difficult time. The support to relatives is above and beyond what is usually found in care homes.
I would not hesitate to recommend Long Meadow Care Home.

The registered manager is totally focused on the wellbeing and safety of those within her care. Her caring and dedicated staff team provide the residents at Long Meadows with person-centered care to a good standard. My mother has clearly thrived since the manager has assumed management responsibility
for Long Meadows care home.

Having moved from an inappropriate facility into Long Meadow, my grandmother settled quickly and the difference in care that she received was amazing. The staff are wonderful. They genuinely care - even with the occasionally ratty lady that gran becomes! They've done everything they can to involve a
bed bound old lady in activities. Whilst the actual house may look a bit scruffy, it's clean and the staff make it into the home that it is.

Current Review Score: 8.1 (8.116)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.1 (8.116) out of 10 for Long Meadows Residential Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 1 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.1 out of 5 from 1 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

The Average Rating of 5.000 for Long Meadows Residential Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (12 Excellents x 5) ) ÷ 12 Ratings = 5

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 3.116 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Long Meadows Residential Care Home is based on 1 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 = 3

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 43 registered maximum number of service users is 8.6. 1 Positive Reviews ÷ 8.6 = 0.116

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
