Mum has been a resident at the above since August 2010. Initially through lack of mobility, hospitalised following a fall she required 24-hour nursing care. She was then positively diagnosed with dementia and moved on to the mews. Eventually, her personal care needs became more urgent and she was moved
to another room in 2015-2016. She is now is bed 24/7 but the care she receives is still outstanding. She is encouraged to eat and drink by all staff despite her abusive tongue. Activities coordinator includes her in all that they do. Eg Mother's Day, Remembrance Day, Summer Barbecue etc. It really is home from home and we all feel like part of a huge family.

My mother has lived there for a few years now and we have been pleased with the way the staff respond to her changing needs.


My only criticism is that there is a regular turn over of staff which is a shame as there have been some extremely motivated people who, for whatever reason, have moved on.


Mum's

dementia makes it hard to express herself but she always appears happy in her environment.

I would like to start by thanking you for your comments, we are very pleased to see that on the whole, you find the services we provide to be good.
In response to the comment you have made about our staff turn over, unfortunately, care tends to be a transient industry in which staff do move around. Over the last year Wellburn Care Homes have been concentrating on improving our recruitment and retention procedures and hope that going forward this will provide more stability in the staff team.
Many of the staff who are now leaving are doing so for career development and are able to do this due to the training and experience they have received through Wellburn Care Homes, we wish them all well in their future careers.

We are so very pleased with the care our mum has received and is receiving here at St Catherine's. The care giving staff are so kind and understanding of all the residents' needs. They are extremely welcoming to us as family. Regular activities provide the residents with a great deal of stimulation.
My sister and I would definitely recommend St Catherines to someone searching for a homely, caring placement for a member of a family.

If I needed proof that my husband is extremely happy at St Catherine's Residential & Nursing Home, his return to the home from a three week period in hospital was proof enough: he showed how happy he was to be back with immediate effect! In fact, it was astonishing to see the transformation within a
few short hours of his return. The care and attention he receives are beyond good: the staff are incredible and go out of their way to ensure the wellbeing and safety of the residents in their care. The smile on my husband's face, a smile I did not see at all during his hospitalisation, returned almost immediately he was back in his room, which made me smile too! I hate to leave him but it is so nice to have the reassurance that he is so well cared for.

The staff are outstanding; they have endless patience, are courteous, affectionate, extremely kind and understanding, and somehow always retain their excellent sense of humour. The care my mother receives is personalised, compassionate,

The care workers and nurses are fantastic, so patient and understanding, my mum feels she has now many good friends especially the staff. This is the third Dementia Care Home in fifteen months and now one year on still very confused due to the dementia, thankfully finally settled identifying St Catherine's
as her home.

Lee

Lee Dale

Job Title: Senior Manager - Dementia Services

Joined: 2021

Lee has worked in the health and social care sector since 2004. Within this time, he has covered many roles working his way up from Care Assistant and previously a Peripatetic and Turnaround Manager before becoming Home Manager at St George’s, Glenholme House and Eighton Lodge. Lee currently is the Senior Manager at our Specialist dementia homes, St Catherine’s and The Manor at St Catherine’s.


Having worked in care management for 10 years, managing his first home at the age of 24, Lee brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in residential, dementia and nursing care.


Qualifications include:
- NVQ Levels 2, 3 & 5
- Level 3 Administration of Medication
- Moving & Handling Train the Trainer
- Basic Life Support Train the Trainer


Lindsey

Lindsey Mckee

Job Title: Deputy Manager

Joined: 2008

Lindsey's career with Wellburn started in 2008 at St Catherine's as a part-time administrator before she gradually began working shifts as a care assistant alongside her role as an administrator. Lindsey then became a full-time administrator before being promoted to Senior Support Worker at St Catherine's in 2023. In 2024, Lindsey was recently promoted to Deputy Manager of St Catherine's and The Manor at St Catherine's.


Qualifications include:
NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care.
