Never seen care like it. Above and beyond springs to mind. The lifestyle coordinator and the activities are second to none. The whole staff come together to make an amazing place. The precautions they have in place are second to none.

Superb home, there actions and procedures in place before and during lockdown were exceptional. The care and professionalism shine through. The activities are varied and very well organised. The pod is superb for seeing your relatives during this ‘new normal’. Great home in a great setting with dedicated
staff to match. Can’t recommend them enough.

My Mum is a resident at Nightingale Hall. Before the lockdown, the care and compassion and kindness shown towards my Mum from every single member of staff has been amazing. During lockdown nobody has been able to see their loved ones living in Care/ Nursing Homes and it has been so hard not being able
to see my Mum but I have had updates about how Mum is, I have been told what they are doing to stimulate the residents and to make them feel included, they have encouraged my Mum to sit with the other residents whilst they have a sing-song or a cheese and wine tasting session, anything that makes the residents smile. For the first time, I saw my Mum yesterday in a Pod that has been provided by Wellburn. It was lovely being able to see Mum even if I couldn't hug her. Nightingale staff are fantastic, professional and give me total peace of mind as I know Mum is being looked after by such a wonderful team of people. They are the best.

Nightingale Hall gave our mum back some control over her life and helped make her last three years comfortable, safe and - to some extent - happy. Mum had dementia and, though fiercely independent, was in need of care. They helped do things that she couldn't do, but supported her and encouraged her
to make decisions where she could. They did it all with good humour, patience and attentiveness.

My father has stayed at Nightingale Hall on two occasions for respite (most recently June 2020). The management has always been accommodating and made the process easy and seamless. The staff are fantastic and have proper personal relationships with the residents. My dad loved the team there and always
said how lovely everybody was. They took dad in even during Covid - a simple easy process of a negative test and short isolation (never really isolated as the staff always popped in to see him for a chat or activity). Visiting was possible in the garden or courtyard, and the online booking to have a video call, telephone call or book a visit was fantastic. Its the kind of place I would want to stay if I needed to go in to care and that means a lot when you're considering care for a loved one. Great team and place.

My mother received amazing care throughout her two years at Nightingale Hall. The staff were well trained, compassionate and always professional. The home had a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. Her autonomy was always respected and care was responsive to her changing needs throughout her stay in the
home. As a family, we all feel fortunate to have found such a caring home for our mother.

My mother is not the easiest dementia patient but the staff have been excellent. They have the patience, are friendly and so nice. The home is clean and she is well looked after. I am very happy with the home and the care my mother has and continues to receive.

The staff are all caring and the communication from the home, whenever there has been a problem, has been superb. This is a wonderful

I find the staff to be friendly and helpful, the premises are well maintained and kept clean at all times, the activities are varied and more is being done to improve these.
The lounge where they all sit is very pleasant and light, a relaxing place for them.

We are very pleased with the management, most of the staff are fantastic. The hairdresser and her daughter are so lovely with mam. Since the new manager has arrived, there has been some good changes, for example, the lounge has a better layout of seats so they can talk to each other. Another good thing
is that the manager writes everything down and gets things done. He also speaks to everyone rather than sitting in his office. The kitchen staff are lovely. One minor observation, would it be possible for all staff to wear badges clearly marked with their names so the residents see who they are talking to?

Nightingale Hall was home to my parents for over five years. My mother passed away in August 2016, three years after my father. Words are inadequate to describe the complete peace of mind we felt as a family as a result of the caring, friendly, professional, calm and dignified care that the excellent
staff gave our parents. The building, gardens,facilities, cleanliness are exceptional. The decor stunning. The food is first class and tailored to their needs. The activities and events are fun and appropriate we will miss the Christmas party. Genuine outstanding care.

Sonia

Sonia Metcalf

Job Title: Home Manager

Joined: 2014

Sonia has worked for Wellburn Care since 2014, starting as a Care Assistant at their Nightingale Hall home. Sonia has since progressed within the company, being progressing to a Team Leader and Deputy Manager, before being promoted to Home Manager in 2018 at their Glenholme House home in Roker. In 2021 Sonia then relocated back to Nightingale Hall in Richmond, returning now as Home Manager where she has built up a loyal, dedicated and caring team.


Sonia has worked in the care industry since 2008 so she brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to her role and her team, and has achieved her NVQ Level 2 and NVQ Level 5 in Health & Social Care.

Kaye's career with Wellburn Care homes began in 2014, starting as a night shift Team Leader at Nightingale Hall. After a transition to the day shift, Kaye was then promoted to Deputy Manager in February 2018. Kaye is the beating heart of the home, having been at Nightingale Hall for an impressive period of time she is well received with staff, residents, families and professionals.


Kaye has worked in the nursing and care sector ever since she left school, specialising in dementia and mental health care. Kaye has achieved her NVQ Level 3 & NVQ Level 5in Health & Social Care.
