My grandad has said he has not regretted his move to Connaught Court for a second. He likens it to a 5-star hotel and knowing that my grandad has stayed in hotels all over the world, I know this means he is extremely happy. I feel the staff go the extra mile, are always smiling and treat him with repect

My father particularly appreciates the space available to him here. As a wheelchair user, it is excellent to be able to get around so easily and to have access to roam.
Although originally he very much enjoyed the food available he now considers it poor. He has been a resident for a year so has maybe
grown tired of what is available.
Any concerns raised are dealt with promptly and well with the responsive management. It is a pleasure to visit.

I recently joined my wife here where she had been a resident since last April. She needs much more attention than myself but I am pleased that a place in the main area of the home has allowed me to help my wife's condition stabilise. I have settled in the main part of the home and enjoying its food
and activities - instead of trying to cope "on my own". Both of us try to get out into the grounds as much as possible - they are very good.

Following Mum's move into Connaught Court, she has settled in very easily. She is well looked after by the care staff dealing with her medical needs. She is well fed with a good choice of menu. The overall home is light and airy with a variable activity list. Overall, a very good home and a credit to
the management and staff.

I have very few reasons to complain about the care here. Before coming to Connaught Court I had a short time in another care home in York. It was nothing like as comfortable as Connaught Court in every way, and it was more expensive!

My room is more than adequate. I have a nice view from my window of open parkland and mature trees. Reception is handled by friendly and knowledgeable staff. The food is good and the menu repeats over a three week period. I particularly enjoy breakfast. The staff on Knavesmire are friendly and sympathetic.
I am concerned that another resident often enters my room without my permission.

Having been a resident for five years I am completely satisfied I receive very good attention and service from the staff.
I enjoy the entertainment and am prepared to join in. Most participants like to help out when asked. In-house activity usually arranged with many residents participating.

Marinda Aydinalp

Job Title: Home Manager

Joined: 2014

Marinda Aydinalp joined Connaught Court as Deputy Home Manager in June 2014. In February 2022, she was promoted to Home Manager.


Marinda demonstrates clear vision, passion and dedication for the residents in her care. She played a significant part in Connaught Court being rated ‘Outstanding’ by CQC in 2023.


Marinda leads a highly experienced and dedicated team. She inspires them by being a role model in both her leadership and her passion for delivering the best care for residents.


Marinda has achieved the Dementia Care Mapping qualification whilst also pursuing an NVQ Level 5 Apprenticeship Programme. This demonstrates her commitment to continuously expanding her knowledge, enabling her to provide exceptional dementia care.


Marinda has created a Namaste Room, which allows residents living with dementia to enjoy a relaxing environment. The room has sensory equipment, including tactile walls, fibre optic lights, a star projector and bubble tubes, which support residents’ mental health and well-being.
