My wife came to Fulford Nursing Home at the end of May from hospital having had a stroke which affected her voice and swallowing. The home was a pleasure to visit and treatment from all the staff was excellent. During her short stay of three weeks, as she died on the 19th of June I was treated with
great dignity by the staff on duty that night. I have visited many homes in the York area and this is in my opinion top of the list. My friends and my Minister who also visited my wife all made the same comments to me about the home. A great credit to all at the home.

Fulford us a friendly place with a family feel. It has a couple of points worth mentioning. One is the very attractive front garden where you can sit and chat and there there is the garden room in the back undisturbed by television.

The care and compassion from the staff have been excellent. All were so friendly and did everything possible to make me comfortable. The staff do a wonderful job.

During the coronavirus pandemic, my Nan went downhill rapidly. Her mental health and physical strength declined and as time went on, she was having more and more falls. Eventually, social services deemed that it was unsafe for her to be left alone and that 24/7 care was in her best interest. Myself
and my family were heartbroken. This was something we had promised Nan we would never do and had believed we would never have to. Nan has already been a resident of Fulford Nursing Home for at least 8 months. She has made many friends with staff and other residents and constantly praises them to the heavens. I, myself, have seen the spectacular care given. It gives myself and my family peace of mind to know Nan is well looked after. Each time we visit, it’s as though we are visiting our extended family! I would recommend this home to anyone in a similar situation to ours.

My 96-year-old Mum was admitted to Fulford Nursing Home in June and from day one the care, kindness and professionalism in the way Mum was treated was wonderful. The manager always had her many needs treated with care, respect and compassion, as did all the staff. My daughter and I were always welcomed
into the home with warmth and friendliness, this is a well run and genuinely caring nursing home. Mums passing was peaceful there. Thank you all.

I was here for 3 weeks following a fall resulting in a fractured pelvis and humerus. Everyone was lovely from the cleaner up to the manager. Nothing was too much trouble and everything was done with a smile and a friendly chat. I needed help with everything in the first week and certainly received all
the help I needed. The food was of a high standard and on the odd occasion I didn't want anything on offer an alternative was always offered.

Mum was admitted to Fulford Nursing Home after being diagnosed as 'end of life' and I can honestly say this care home is one of the best. The staff are absolutely amazing with all the residents and showed my Mum the utmost care and compassion. The COVID measures were excellent, testing before every
visit to ensure the safety of the residents and staff. The food is excellent, cooked by their own chef to residents requirements, nothing was too much trouble. The house is an Edwardian building with a lovely garden and nearby parking.
The staff always had time to talk to me about Mum and I was always kept informed about her declining condition during her 10-day stay. One of the nurses was with Mum, holding her hand when she passed away and I'm eternally grateful for that. Many thanks to all of you for your kindness.

The staff were delightful but very hard-pressed. I sometimes needed to be escourted to the toilet and has to wait an hour or more if my need occurred at the 'wrong time'.

From feeling worried and insecure, my stay at Fulford Nursing Home has given me a new lease of life. The staff and service here are quite simply wonderful and have attended to my every need. All done on a family atmosphere. I lack achievement, but they do it a Fulford Nursing home. The staff work as
a team and all get on together.
Although situations can change rapidly, and as a result become very difficult for everyone. The carers cope very well and still provide excellent care. Thank you.

The staff and the food were excellent. The two chefs did a wonderful job with what they produced. Each meal had a choice of many dishes and their staff were caring. The nursing staff were caring, the nursing staff were always kind and they handled the difficult patients gently.
