Philips Court care home provides care for residents with mental health issues and has an on-site psychiatrist.

Residents can get involved in a variety of activities which are always tailored to their individual interests, empowering and enriching their lives. Activities include pet therapy, with visits from cows, chickens, rabbits and guinea pigs. There are also regular trips to the local community, including visits to the beach and the opera.

The home has a residents’ committee where they can discuss issues and ideas in the home as well as more general topics such as politics, ensuring their opinions are valued and heard.

Residents are cared for by a dedicated and resourceful care team who always work hard to solve any issues that may arise.

We have been so very lucky to have my friend in Philips Court, no complaints whatsoever. On my visit yesterday for 2:15, out all morning, realised hadn't done lateral flow test, ran, no problem, come half-hour earlier, they were so busy, but were so lovely. Saw my friend, he looked so clean, hair cut
etc. Felt so happy to see him so settled, 94 next month. Thank you all at Philips Court.

We moved my mother into Philips Court over two years ago. From the beginning, I found all the staff friendly and approachable, Management, admin, nursing staff, care staff and Domestic Staff. They treat everyone including families with care.


Philips Court has really done well throughout the Covid,

crisis keeping residents safe. I would recommend Philips Court to anyone who asks for my opinion.

My mother receives excellent care from all the staff and I have found the organisation of the home is impeccable, this includes management, admin, nursing staff and care staff - along with the activities coordinators. I could not have wished for a better place for mum to live. During the pandemic, all
staff have kept everyone safe and well, and despite the hard work, the staff have always been positive and understanding.

My mother in law has lived at Philips Court for approximately 2 years. In that time, my wife and I have seen a massive improvement in mum's well-being, I can't thank the staff enough for giving mum the care and support she needs to be happy with dementia. The staff are caring and supportive to both

My mother-in-law moved into dementia care at Philips Court only a few months prior to the outbreak of Covid-19. Since then, the care that she has received from staff on the unit and in the establishment as a whole has been absolutely first class. Especially during periods of lockdown we have been kept
fully informed of developments and staff are only too happy to give updates on her care when we call. In addition, the manager is very approachable, understanding and accommodating of my mother-in-law’s particular needs and wants. Staff always appear happy in their work even when it is challenging, which I feel gives a very good indication of how Philips Court is managed. The family and I are enormously grateful to them all and I would highly recommend the home to anyone seeking quality care for a loved one.

My friend has lived at Philips Court for 4 years. I am extremely happy with her care. I chose Philips Court because of the garden, rabbits, guinea pigs and chickens, as she loved her own garden and animals. There is plenty of room for her to walk about and she has a nicely lit room. My friend has settled
amazingly well and always looks content, happy, clean and tidy when I visit. She loves music, there is often some sort of musical activity going on which she can dance to. The staff are very kind and knowledgeable about her complex needs. She enjoys her food and her sometimes picky eating is well managed. She can be difficult at times but staff know how to get around her in the nicest possible way, her sparkly eyes, winning smile and polite nature enable her to get around the staff too. Philips Court always contacts me if there is something I need to know and they are happy to hear from me when I ring. My friend's family and I cannot thank them enough.

The long-awaited CQC report came out today and the home is rated Good in all areas. I've just left a relatives meeting and it's clear to see that this management and staff are not going to rest on their laurels and have set their sights on gaining an Outstanding rating.

My mother-in-law has resided her for some 11 years during all time her complex physical and mental needs have been met with dignity. Any issues are managed well and dealt with quickly and professionally. My mother-in-law is always clean and well presented. Staff at any level are knowledgeable about
her current condition and can provide regular and accurate updates. Care plans are regularly reviewed and myself and my husband are asked for input.

Philip's Court is a tremendous place - my mother has lived here 2 months and she loves it there (and so do I). The staff and manager are priceless, they take time out of their busy duties to make the residents feel special - often it's just a few words in passing but it shows a deep respect and care
for the people.


The home is a hub of activity and it is quite large so there are plenty of places for those who are able to walk and mingle. There is a wonderful outdoor courtyard which the residents and visitors can go out to - and out in the courtyard are penned rabbits, guinea pigs and other creatures. It's all very bucolic especially considering it is located in a fairly busy area.


There is always tea and coffee on the go, my mother likes the food very much and the staff organizes a lot of other activities which they and the residents really seem to enjoy.


I would definitely suggest checking out Philip's Court if your loved one is in need of a care home.
