Outstanding care home.
Before my aunt sadly passed away this year, the care she was given was the best I’ve seen.
Thank you so much for everything you did for us all, I am eternally grateful.
If anyone is looking for a place for a loved one, I cannot recommend Balmoral Court enough.
The way the
staff work to care for those with challenging behaviour is amazing.
Thank you.

Mum has been here since August 2018 and I have been very impressed with the care and kindness that the staff have given to Mum. They have also taken the concerns that I have had and taken the appropriate action. I am pleased that Mum is being cared for at Balmoral Court Nursing Home.

My father had a short break at Balmoral court and was very well cared for. The staff always go the extra mile. If you are looking for a care home that actually cares I recommend Balmoral.

Fantastic care home with a very family feeling vibe throughout.
My dad was cared for by a group of people who are very dedicated in every way.
I cannot thank you enough.
When other care homes failed him, Balmoral Court went above and beyond in every aspect and I will never forget that.

My grandad was recently in Balmoral Court for a respite stay and he thoroughly enjoyed his time there.
It was like home from home and gave us all great peace of mind to know he was so happy staying there.
I cannot recommend this home highly enough and I know next time he needs a break somewhere, we
will look no other place than Balmoral Court.

My mam was a resident here for a very short time. I can honestly say all the staff were very nice to her. They made my mam and all her family feel very welcome and they all do a great job. I would recommend this care home to anyone thank you for looking after my mam so well.

My mum sadly passed but her stay whilst at Balmoral was the best she could have wanted. The atmosphere is more like a family than a care home. Thanks so much for taking such good care of my mum.

Sadly my husband who had severe dementia was a resident in the home for only a short time but the care and dignity shown to him and his family was outstanding. Over and above the norm. It is not a 5-star luxury home, in as much that everything in the furnishings may not be top class, but what beats
all of that is the homely feeling of warmth and security instinctively given by this truly dedicated staff. They are amazing.

My father was a resident from August 2017 until his death in May 2018 at the age of 93. From the day he arrived he was treated as part of the Balmoral Cour family and once he settled in he was very happy there. All the staff were lovely with him and the treatment and care he received was very good.
My mother, sister and myself were also treated as part of their family and always kept fully informed of my father's condition, particularly towards the end. The staff all made sure he had the best quality of life possible and a very good, pain-free, calm and dignified death in his own room in the care home, for which we are very grateful. When he arrived a new management team had just started and the changes they made have been wonderful in terms of the environment, the care philosophy and practice and in fulfilling their main aim of making the residents happy. A lovely happy and friendly place to be.

My sister was moved to this nursing home as she required care for challenging behaviour. Within only a week I have noticed quite a change for the better. It's early days yet but she is in a more relaxed environment with dedicated staff who are set an example by a committed and enthusiastic manager.
My brother and I who jointly tend to her welfare are well pleased the home was recommended to us.

Current Review Score: 6.4 (6.430)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 6.4 (6.430) out of 10 for Balmoral Court is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 2.5 out of 5 from 13 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.9 out of 5 from 6 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 2.527 for Balmoral Court is calculated as follows: ( (33 Excellents x 5) + (26 Goods x 4) + (8 Satisfactorys x 3) + (81 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 148 Ratings = 2.527

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 3.903 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Balmoral Court is based on 6 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 = 3.6

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 99 registered maximum number of service users is 19.8. 6 Positive Reviews ÷ 19.8 = 0.303

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
