My husband has settled in well. The staff are very good with him, and he loves the food they provide. I'm happy with the care he has received during this terrible year and Covid-19 and isolation that had to be implemented which was unfortunate but necessary and think that Astell Care home has done a
good job keeping residents safe.

Overall condition of the internal decor very poor all areas. Most of fabric, doors, windows, lighting, requires better maintenance short term, with a program of upgrading for all areas, to look at installation of personal showers in all rooms as a future upgrade.

My dad went into Astell last August with dementia and was very well looked after by everyone, fed, dressed and took out on the times he was feeling ok. Everyone was really nice and very helpful, carers and staff even came to his funeral when he passed. I will recommend this care home, a safe and controlled
care home which puts your mind at ease, many thanks to all at Astell.

Visited my dad and found him wanting to go home as he said he was just visiting for the day. He got rather upset when I told him I could not take him home tonight. He was aggressive towards me, it's hard to cope with his dementia today was the worst I've seen him. I want to say thank you to the staff
who are always pleasant and helpful, they calmed him down and convinced him to stop tonight. There are some real diamonds working there and I can't thank them enough for the way they conduct themselves in the care and interaction with the patients and the visitors. You hear some horror stories about care homes but this one is a shining example of how the elderly should be cared for.

My father-in-law moved into the challenging behaviours unit at Astell Care Centre in July 2017. He moved from the dementia ward at another care home in the area where they did not seem to understand how his Alzheimer's was affecting his behaviour.
My husband and I spent a lot of time and effort looking
for a new home for him. We initially had a lot of misgivings about him moving to a challenging behaviour unit but these disappeared as soon as we met the staff. From our first meeting with the outstanding staff at Astell Care Centre, we were so relieved that we had finally found a team that seemed to understand his problems and have some idea of how to work with him effectively. We visited regularly over the last six months and found that staff were always calm, kind and professional, even when dealing with some quite challenging situations. They could connect with my father-in-law even when he was quite wound up. We were informed of any important developments in my father-in-law's care.

Mam has been here since January 2017. The care and staff have been excellent in caring for and looking after my Mam who has advanced Alzheimer's. She can be challenging to care for but I could not be more impressed with all the staff looking after her.

There is nothing bad to say about this care home. Everybody who works here is fantastic. If we have any questions, somebody is always there to answer. My grandad is very very well looked after and he is very happy here, as he has told us many time.

My granddad is in Brampton care home, Walker, he's been there couple weeks we have seen a massive change in him since coming here, he's so happy as are we his family. The staff in this home are amazing, so so helpful and friendly and seeing him like this is a weight off our shoulders can't thank them
all enough.
