After a couple of bad experiences at other homes, we have found a great new place at Moorfield House, our mam has settled in really well. She's happy in herself and that makes us happy. The manager and all the staff are very nice and caring and can be approached and chatted to and are very helpful.
I can sleep at night knowing my mam is safe. Thank you.

My mum has been at Moorfield House since 2020 and during this time she has been living with dementia and has had decreasing mobility. The team at Moorfield House has been fantastic in adapting Mum's care to her changing needs, and the communication with the manager and staff has been great at all times.
Working in a care home is a challenging environment, but whenever I visit the staff are all cheerful and seem genuinely happy and fulfilled to be making a difference to the life of their elderly residents. It's a great relief to myself and our family that Mum is being looked after so well and I know that she is happy and content with her life at Moorfield House. I can highly recommend them.

Our Mother spent the last two months of her life at Moorfield House under the care of the nursing and care team there. We also spent a lot of time with our mother and were able to witness firsthand the exceptional care and nursing input that she received. Furthermore, the kitchen and domestic staff
went above and beyond in terms of ensuring that my mother had the diet that she needed. The cleanliness of her room was also kept to a very high standard. In the last few days of her life, we experienced significant support from the staff who were empathic and caring towards us as a family. They also enabled my mother to die free of symptoms and in a dignified peaceful way. We cannot thank them enough for enabling this to happen. Overall, we were humbled to see the dedication and commitment that all the staff at Moorfield showed towards my mother and ourselves during this time and will always be thankful to them.

Our mam went into care and was well supported by everyone who worked at Moorfield House. She loved joining in with all the activities. We as a family were made welcome whatever time of the day or night we went to see her. All the staff were so lovely to mam so much so we recommended others to go there.

My nanna was cared for by the staff at Moorfield House until she passed away in July. The staff were absolutely fantastic, everyone from the manager to the cook had a smile and always stopped for a chat with her.
The staff, despite being busy, always took the time to provide updates on her health and
daily well-being.
I am more than satisfied with the care my Nanna received at the end stages of her life. The staff were caring and compassionate to both my Nanna as well as her family.
Thank you to the manager and the whole staff team at Moorfield for everything.

My father moved into Moorfield House as his condition was rapidly deteriorating having suffered a fall necessitating first a hospital stay and then a period in a rehabilitation centre. I met the manager for the first time on the Monday who I immediately liked. She related to me as an individual and
I really felt the atmosphere of the home was both caring and professional. Moorfield worked with the rehabilitation centre extremely efficiently and my father moved on Tuesday. Throughout his sadly very short stay, I felt he could not have been cared for better and more kindly. It was wonderful to have the support of such a good team, including nursing support. I was also given positive reports of the home from the rehabilitation centre and All Saints Church who have close links to the home. In my opinion, the current rating of the home should not be relied on and has no bearing on the very high-quality experience of my father and I during his stay.

My mother was a resident in Moorfield House, she was happy, cared for and was looked after so well and treated with the utmost respect from all in the Moorfield team. All of the team would welcome us, as a family, when visiting Mam and anything that Mam required was forthcoming and available to her
without any problems.

The staff neglect the residents as they want the toilet but they say they are busy. They put drinks in front of residents that need to be assisted and go back in half an hour to give them a drink. The staff does not use the correct sling to hoist the resident.

The Moorfield team is a group of individuals all with a single focus, the care of the individuals living in Moorfield House. This team cares, it matters to them, I feel I matter to them and that my Dad matters to them and that means everything to me.

Moving a loved one into care has been a very emotional time for all the family but this decision and care has been made less painful by the staff and facilities provided at Moorfield. The decision to choose Moorfield was certainly a good one. Upon arrival into the home and then leaving I feel our loved

My mam went into Moorfield House from her own home in September as she was struggling. To date, she has gained weight her mood has improved she is now thriving. Care plans were put in place and followed. All the staff are friendly and very welcoming.
Any issues we have had have been listened to and
sorted by staff and management is always there for support and to listen to any concerns we may have. We have visited Mam at various times throughout the day and find her needs are being met by staff, management and domestics chatting to her painting nails, etc.
At first, Mam struggled to interact, but with support and encouragement, she now attends the dining room for meals, sits in the lounge and attends activities.
We have peace of mind knowing Mam is in a safe environment and is being well cared for. We are pleased as a family we found Moorfield House with such kind and dedicated staff; Mam herself has said she is happy and feels safe and well cared for.

On our first visit, we were greeted with such friendliness by a lady, who showed us around, so helpful. Explained everything. Fantastic, a credit to the home. My mother has settled in and praises the staff constantly even though they are so busy. Fantastic.

Mum was sent here just over two weeks ago, this place was ill-equipped to deal with Mum's needs and should never have accepted her from the hospital. Although the staff are friendly their care is not, I have never come across somewhere so neglectful in caring for a person/persons. We have been at this
home daily for the last couple of weeks and since then 3 safeguarding reports have been put in by various agencies and now the final has gone to CQC. Staff although friendly are careless, confused and ill-equipped to deal with care. Personally, I would treat a hamster better with no training. Between breaking so many regulations in care and handling the amount of errors daily was huge, 8 pages of complaints went to CQC concerning my mum and other residents, this has all been backed up by other agencies involved so not just from a disgruntled person. If you want to work in caring for elderly then do the job you are trained for not for the wage, staff do not listen to their seniors.

My mother became a resident on the 1st of February 2023, she needed end-of-life palliative care and I can't thank the staff enough for their excellent and compassionate care and wish she had become a resident much earlier as her quality of life would have been so much better. The staff not only cared
for my mother but also cared for the whole family giving us reassurance that she was comfortable and in safe hands.

Mum and Dad have been at Moorfield House for the past 8 months. Mum recently passed away and the kindness and professionalism of the staff were a real help to myself and Dad.
Dad unfortunately then took a turn for the worse and whilst the staff had a rough time with this they were understanding to
his needs and were very supportive.

Moorfield has gone through an incredibly tough and difficult time over the last two years with covid and several staff leaving, including the manager and deputy. However, they now have a new manager and are busy appointing a deputy, and already, I can see a big difference. The staff work tirelessly
and are so friendly, pleasant, professional and caring and I feel very confident in leaving my husband in their care. All the staff - the manager, the cooks, the cleaners, the carers and the office staff are all excellent and I have nothing but the highest regard for them. The only downside is that when they are short-staffed, they have agency staff in and there have been problems on the medication side. This, however, has been addressed so I feel much happier. Finally, I am delighted that they now have a gardener as the garden is looking so much better and is a pleasure to sit in it, weather permitting.

My friend gets no stimulation or company. Her room faces a brink wall. As she toilets and feeds herself, I imagine she probably gets 45 minutes at most of face contact. Very sad when I leave her. Last week's visit was a shock as all the staff were agency - how can you know the residents if only there
for a day?

After my father-in-law died suddenly, we had to find a home very quickly for my mother-in-law as she has advanced Parkinson's disease. The deputy manager was, from the start, friendly, kind and helpful, and gave me reassurance that my mother-in-law would not just be cared for but respected, valued and
genuinely looked after.
The home is full of fabulous, hard-working, caring staff, who love their jobs and are absolutely amazing.
