Coble House is a residential and nursing care home for up to 52 residents. It is located on the outskirts of Whitley Bay, close to the picturesque bay of Cullercoats, and has good road and public transport links. The home is situated close to local shops, a Post Office and a number of coffee shops and restaurants.

There is a warm, friendly atmosphere at the home and residents can relax or socialise in the courtyard garden and one of four communal lounges, where daily activities also take place. There are sea views from some of the bedrooms and communal areas and the home’s interior is thoughtfully decorated to provide a relaxed and calm environment. There are also various seating areas around the home where residents can spend time relaxing or catching up with their loved ones.

The home does not have separate nursing and residential units which means that, should a resident’s health needs change, they can stay in a familiar environment, in their own space.

Residents are encouraged to remain both mentally and physically active and are encouraged to pursue their hobbies and interests wherever possible.

I find everyone friendly and caring, my husbands gets well looked after, and the staff are very nice and friendly to me nothing is too much bother for them.

I would highly recommend this home. The staff are really approachable. The residents are treated with dignity and a high level of care is given. The home is always clean and tidy.

Through circumstance, my Mum is in a Care home, the Coble House which is over 300 miles from where I live. I never have any worries that she might come to harm or not be cared for as the staff are always so nice and there is an open-door policy in the home.
Staff are always available to carry out
tasks which may arise at short notice such as toilet visits or something as small as a fresh cup of tea when I visit.
There are always activities laid on for the residents even though many are at a stage in their lives when they just want to sleep most of the time.

My dad moved into Coble House after a period of time in hospital following a short illness. The care support and dignity shown by staff when visiting him in hospital prior to moving and when he arrived on day one was excellent.
He was made to feel at home and a respected member of the Coble House
"family". We were told that we should treat Coble House as if it was my father's home and could visit at any time. He liked us and his friends dropping in.
The caring nature of the team, the attention and interest they showed him, whatever mood/situation he was in was fantastic. Every member of the Team is a character and he spoke to us a lot about them and what they had discussed during their numerous visits to his room each day.
Even in his terminal condition, his quality of life during the last few months of his life was enhanced by moving to Coble House.
The respect and support provided by the team in his final days, in what were challenging circumstances were appreciated by the whole family.

I like this home very much, my father is happy here and all the staff are brilliant, My father likes all the staff and they have a lot of time for him. He sometimes joins in the activities but prefers to be in his room. I and the rest of the family are often there to see him.
