At Prince’s Court Care Home the staff pride themselves on giving visitors a warm and welcoming greeting when they arrive, whoever they are. That’s what you’d expect, because Prince’s Court is in North Shields, close to Newcastle and in the North East people are known for their friendliness and hospitality.

Staff at the home are very professional, committed and caring, and work hard to forge close relationships with residents, getting to know as much as possible the residents’ individual needs, their likes and dislikes – to really know and understand them. They do the same with their families and friends, who they encourage to visit and get involved in activities, as much as possible.

Regular resident meetings are held, where they discuss what’s happening in the home and every effort is made to get them to be part of the decision-making process and to be involved in the running of the home.

Great facilities for physio treatment. Wonderfully helpful and caring staff who have time for the residents. My mum made a speedy recovery because of the care she received at Prince's Court. Couldn't be happier with the care she received there.

The atmosphere at this unit is welcoming. All the staff we had interaction with were professional, caring and helpful. We had no reservations at all. It is clean and warm.
The only negative is there is no communal room for residents to meet to chat and socialise with each other. Some patients I spoke
to were very bored and lonely. The mental health of people, especially older people in hospital, is paramount. The rooms are equipped with a television but are very insular.

Lovely care home with lovely staff. The food used to be okay but has seriously improved in the past month, my nana seems to enjoy meal times and the atmosphere of the home.
The manager is lovely and always says hello.

Mum has been treated with the utmost care, respect and dignity. The staff are professional, friendly and have an attention to detail.
The staff obviously read the individual care plan following medical advice and any physiotherapist's recommendations.

Although my mother was more or less at the end of her time, the experience of Prince's Court was nothing short of outstanding from day one. Excellent staff and management who really do care. Really nice facilities throughout the building. Nice touches like hairdressing on site and tea/coffee available
to family visitors. If you are in need of fantastic care, please be assured Prince's Court is 1st class from top to bottom - fully endorsed!

I found communication with staff and residents' relatives slightly difficult because of the constant change in staff. Staff were thin on the ground, especially at weekends.

I arranged a room and care for a friend who has no family and for whom I had a POA. The staff were always responsive and helpful. He was doubly incontinent throughout the three and a half years he lived there. I never smelled any urine or found him dirty. Hair, nails, teeth and clothes were always tidy
and clean. No mean feat! I am profoundly grateful for the care he received.

My dad who at the time was 70 came into the care home in October 2020 after having an accident in April. He is unable to walk, talk, or eat (he is peg feed) We got told by the hospital that there was nothing more they could do for him and that he would never improve. Well after the dedication of the
staff especially his carer he is now having soft foods and even soft ice lollies! We are overjoyed at this as we never thought it was possible and because my dad still can't talk just the odd few words, his carer and the staff have worked hard to make this work for him and he absolutely loves his soft food. We never thought we would be able to get out of bed due to his one side not working and thought he would be bedridden but again with the support of the staff we now have his own reclining wheelchair that we are now taking him out of the home and taking him to all the places he loved to go before his accident.
Thank you Prince's Court I don't think any of this would have been possible without you.

My mother was transferred to Prince's Court from hospital and was cared for as an end of life resident. The nursing and care staff were clearly very caring, professional and helpful. My mother died after three days and the staff were very caring and respectful after her death.

My mother was in Princes Court in North Sheilds during 2021 and 2022. The care and support she has from the staff was outstanding. the personal touches and kindness they showed to my mother made this difficult time more manageable. In Covid times, there were days and weeks when we could not visit more,
and it was always a consolation to know that she was being booked by such warm-hearted, professional and caring staff. They has such a human touch. Thank you.
