The staff I've met are all lovely.
Don't have any complaints about them.
Only trouble is that my friend seems to stay in her room a lot.

We can't get up to visit very often as we live in West Yorkshire, so we love to be updated on my sister-in-law's progress and the staff are well informed and eager to tell us how she is fairing. Since moving here, she has gained weight and become more relaxed and settled in. It's obvious that she has
come to terms with living in the care sector (due to chronic illness) and it has given us some reassurance that she is in safe hands. It is obvious that they treat her with kindness and humanity and the result is, she is thriving. She is sleeping better at night and family visiting hours are relaxed and informal. It's a win win situation and for that we are grateful.

My friend is in the dementia sector she still recognises me and is able to share a joke with staff and myself. She has settled well the staff are excellent very patient and caring.

Very friendly staff. Generally good standard of care. All residents treated with dignity and respect. Good activities programme. Friendly atmosphere in the house. I feel that my father is well looked after and safe here.

Mam has been in the home for almost 18 months. My sister and I are very pleased and comfortable with the home. The staff are wonderful, very caring and soon spot a problem when there is one. They are also very good with our family, very friendly and always keep us informed of any problems. The activity
ladies are also great, they are very much for the residents and look very hard to keep them happy and to raise money so they can have special treats. No complaints!

My Grandmother resided there for the past 4 years, her care was was excellent however, they are very short staffed in my opinion. On a night shift they only have one nurse and one carer, even on a day shift they have a lot of paperwork etc. which takes them away from the care they need to give.
Our
Nana was unwell on her last week and all the staff needed to give her more attention and they did not put on extra staff. This matter needs to be addressed as we are talking about people's lives and the care and dignity they need.

The thought of my husband going into care was so heartbreaking after 54 years of marriage that I kept putting off the decision until my family really insisted. Howdon Care Home is lovely, the staff are caring and welcoming whenever I visit my husband, he has a lovely room with an en-suite. I never would
have thought that I would be happy for him and me, but I am.

My mum has been with the care home for over one year now. See has been well looked after and I know at times she can be demanding. The staff have been very patient and understanding. I feel the staffing levels could be increased as when visiting for an hour, I rarely see staff calling in to check on
my mum unless she uses the call button. I find the cost of the home is excessive for the care/food provided.

Everyone is very pleasant. Cleaners always work very hard, the place is gleaming. The activity girls are extremely good, always come into see me every day, I spend a lot of time in bed but I am always invited to join in, I am particularly interested in art work so I like to get up and join in with that.
Management is great the place runs like a dream, laundry staff are nice they do a good job. The carers do a lot of work, I am always thanking them. Food is okay I would like to see more variety, mainly at tea time.
