My sister has been in this home for almost 10 years, she has been very well looked after and seems very happy. She doesn't talk much but seems very contented. Won't go out now not even in the garden, think she feels safe indoors. I cannot fault the staff, so caring and always friendly. Go above and
beyond in the loving care they provide. So very grateful to know she is happy and safe, wonderful.

Covid tests are done professionally with friendly helpful staff. All the staff are caring, always keep me up to date with any problems concerning Dad. Couldn't ask for a better place for Dad. He is safe, happy and well taken care of. Can't fault anything with Needham Court. I'm grateful he is there
being well taken care of.

Dad is here on respite and has been made very welcome by all staff on arrival. On one visit Dad was not wearing his own clothes. On looking at his room, I would prefer a wingback there for him to sit in. Dad said the food was good and seems to get on with all staff very well.

My father is on respite at the moment, when admitted he prides himself on being well dressed. On one occasion we visited, he was wearing none of the clothes we supplied. We visited his room and found there to be no water jug or glass in his room and also he was sitting in a chair which was very uncomfortable
looking for him. I asked if he could have a wingback chair in his room in case he wanted to nap. I think the care he is being shown is very good but requires a bit of prompting.

My mam has been in Needham Court for 7 years. The care and love she has received from the staff here is amazing. We are constantly kept in touch if there is a concern about her health etc. Lovely staff.

All of the staff at Needham Court Care Home are brilliant, my mum has received the best care here and is very happy and settled. Nothing is ever a bother for the staff you can ring night or day if ever needed. This is a very happy and caring care home and I would definitely recommend it. Due to Covid
I haven't been in properly and seen all of the rooms but what I have seen is spotlessly clean.

I am very pleased with the care my mother receives in this care home. The staff are very helpful, kind and do their best to show residents a cheerful mood which resonates throughout the care home. There is a variety of activities that my mother often joins in with. Overall they have worked hard to ensure
pod visits and, more recently, indoor visits which have been so good for both my mother and myself. Well done all the staff.

Needham Court has cared for my friend, who is like an adopted mother to me, for three years. During that time they have nursed her back to health following a fracture sustained in hospital and provided for all her needs. They are an amazing group of people who genuinely care for each and every person
they look after. I am so grateful to them, especially during this past year when I have been unable to visit.

My aunt has been living at Needham Court for many years now and although the family were worried, they have put our minds at ease. They care with such dignity and compassion. All staff go above and beyond to show kindness, consideration and empathy with our loved ones during what can be an extremely
difficult period for a family. It's spotlessly clean, very friendly and a safe environment. I have no hesitation in recommending Needham Court. During the lockdown, we have been able to stay in touch via FaceTime which they help my aunt with.

All the staff at Needham Court are very attentive to the residents, including my father who has been a resident since April 2018. They go above and beyond to ensure the safety and wellbeing of my father. Since lockdown, they have become 'family' to residents during these difficult times. I have been
lucky to have FaceTime calls with my father which has been organised by two particular members of staff. This has been a lifeline to physically see my father rather than having a verbal daily update. Needham Court is well maintained and has a lovely atmosphere. Staff are friendly, approachable and very helpful. Nothing is too much trouble. I look forward to visiting my father and seeing the other residents and staff, once restrictions are lifted and visits can resume.

The home is well kept and food is of a good standard. The carers on the floor are all very caring but overstretched. Staffing levels need to be increased and consistent. This would allow more interaction and 1:1 or group stimulation. The activities that are on display should take place. The residents
need stimulation on a consistent basis to promote their wellbeing. I cannot praise the carers enough and this needs recognition.

Thank you for your comments on our home and allowing us the opportunity to respond. Our new Wellbeing activities programme is now displayed throughout the home, on occasions events within the home may not reflect areas advertised, this may be due to our residents asking for different activities to be taken forward. Within Needham Court, we now have two Wellbeing Co-ordinators in post, therefore allowing us to deliver more one to one interactions with our Residents. The home also has access to the area minibus which allows Residents to have trips out in the community. With regards to staffing levels within the home, our Home Managers update a monthly dependency tool which reflects the level of staffing required to allow us to support our Residents care needed, this is currently in line with the needs of the Residents.

I have found this experience to be much easier than initially anticipated. I was very concerned regarding my mother's ability to settle in, but I was surprised how quickly she adapted which was made easier due to the understanding and level of support given by all the staff.

As a dedicated healthcare professional, Joann has gained a wealth of experience in providing care and nursing support to elderly people, to enrich their lives. She is a knowledgeable leader who is passionate about delivering the highest standards in care and quality of life for Residents.


Joann closely shares HC-One’s vision in aiming to provide the kindest care for each and every Resident. She extends this caring approach to her Colleagues and works closely with them to deliver care and support to Residents in a way that they gain the most benefit, in a warm and welcoming home.


She also works hard to arrange events and activities with nearby schools and clubs and is always keen to include the local community in life at Needham Court.


When asked what she enjoys most about her role, Joann remarked:


“There’s nothing I don’t enjoy about my job, but seeing a big smile on a Residents face is definitely a highlight.”


In her spare time, Joann likes to wind down with a good book or exploring the beautiful Northumberland coast.
