The team at the Pavillion, many of whom have proudly worked at the home for over 10 years, provide residential, nursing, dementia, palliative and respite care, which can be booked in advance.

The home has a warm, homely atmosphere, with a team dedicated to Sanctuary Care’s vision of Enriching Lives. This is based on the six senses people need to feel truly happy and fulfilled – a sense of achievement, belonging, continuity, purpose, security and significance.

The team at Pavillion are passionate about supporting their residents to do the things they love, from music therapy, animal visits, gardening, trips into the community and coffee mornings, to gentle exercise sessions.

The residents had a ball when they celebrated the King’s Coronation – with live music, dancing and even a giant handmade London bus, lovingly made with the residents’ photographs displayed in the windows!

Pavillion has a hairdressing salon, for pampering sessions and weekly visits from a local mobile hairdresser.

The lounges and large gardens are lovely places to relax with family and friends, who are welcome to visit at any time.

In the dining room, the chef serves delicious, home-cooked food, from cooked breakfasts if residents prefer, roast dinners with all the trimmings, to lighter bites. And every day there are home-baked sweets for afternoon tea.

The team are proud of the home’s Good CQC report (June 2022), with a Good in every single area. The report highlights how the residents are actively involved in the running of the Pavillion, how varied the activities are and how kind, caring and respectful the team are. Knowing I had to have 24/7 care I chose this home and I feel I am in the right place. I am very happy here. I have been here six weeks. I love my room. I have some of my possessions around me and feel my room is cosy and homely. Thank you to everyone for their kindness in looking after me.

Always a friendly welcome on arrival. My sister is well looked after, clean, well dressed and it's great to see her laughing in her room when we visit, showing how comfortable she feels there. Communication is difficult due to her condition but she responds well to our fun interactions and stimulus.
My sister enjoys being part of the stimulating social activities and it's great to see her included in the photographer sharing these photographs, it's a great way to promote the home's activities.

I find that the nurses and regular staff are really good, however I don't feel the agency staff know about my mum's needs and worry about this. I sometimes think that the regular checks are are not done, or not done correctly as sometimes I have noticed my mam has not been moved or she has sneezed and
has snots all over her mouth as she is unable to wipe herself. I also think an interior upgrade is needed of the rooms and home.

Unfortunately, due to a recent flu outbreak, we had to rely on some agency cover because of staff being poorly, but I'm pleased to say that we are now back to normal with our dedicated, long-serving team. Please rest assured that we take all aspects of personal care and hygiene very seriously and are sorry to hear you feel we fell short on this occasion. The manager should be very proud of her staff. All of them from the nursing staff, care staff, housekeeping staff, catering staff and the bus driver went the extra mile with a smile. They treated my mam with kindness and dignity even though at the beginning of her stay mam wasn't cop-operative or even
nice to them. Your administrator, in the office, was so helpful to me and no problem, and there were quiet a few in the beginning, was too, great. I don't think I have ever meet a more positive and cheerful person.
I haven't rated activities because didn't have any experience of them. Never knew which ones were being offered, because Mam always said there weren't any, but she may not have wanted to participate.

After visiting for over two years, I find the Pavillion a good care home. The staff are very good and my friend receives the care I would hope for. The place is well managed and clean.
Things I would improve :
1. Rooms to be painted fresher, brighter colours.
2. Less dependence on agency staff
at weekends.

I am pleased to say that after a short period where our maintenance operative was off work, he is now back and our rolling redecoration programme to keep rooms fresh and welcoming has resumed. Regarding agency staff, we usually have a core team of long-serving staff, but a recent flu outbreak meant we had to rely on agency cover as many staff were poorly, but we are delighted to be back to normal now.

Mam, aged 96, had a stroke which greatly affected her mobility.
From the first moment she arrived at the Pavillion, she was given a warm welcome, treated with dignity and in a friendly but professional way.
It is such a relief to see Mam settle into her new home so quickly. I cannot thank the managers
and staff enough.
Mam is waiting for an assessment for care and support but what has been provided so far has been good.
No activities yet, but she has been invited to join in when she can.

My Mother-in-law needed to visit hospital urgently, from the care home, and we were unable to travel with her for personal reasons. So a carer from the Pavillion travelled with her and waited with her. Shortly after she had gone to the hospital I was able to make my way to the hospital. When I arrived
at the hospital I noticed the carer was very supportive and caring towards my Mother-in-law all the time she was with her, this reassured me that my Mother-in-law is getting the best care possible.

Our Mum had a fall and was quickly referred to hospital by the home. The day we were in hospital the care home rang us and we discussed the risks of falling as the room we had chosen was small and didn't have a lot of space around the bed. The team wouldn't have been more helpful, a room had very recently
become available and they suggested Mam could move into here, as it was more spacious and would have easier access for the carers. the team was brilliant, they had the room cleaned and refreshed (it had been cleaned previously and moved all of her belongings into the room ready for her return from hospital later that day. It was such a weighty of our minds and the whole team went above and beyond to help out.

My mother was recently moved to Pavillion Nursing Home after a series of traumatic and distressing events at her previous care facility. From the initial unannounced visit to see if Pavillion could meet my mother's needs, we were exceptionally impressed with the level of service offered. The Pavillion
is well-managed with well-qualified, compassionate staff who are now providing my mother with the holistic care she deserves. We honestly can't thank or praise the staff at Pavillion enough for their expertise in looking after Mum. Knowing she is safe and receiving first-class care gives me confidence we made the right decision moving her to Pavillion.

I stayed a couple of nights respite and found it comfortable and all my needs were being met. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. It was a relaxed and easy visit. The only negative would be the lack of internet and phone signal, could not speak to family or use the internet at all which is a
shame in this day and age. However a really comfortable stay and will be back for another stay. Thanks again to all the staff.

I am just writing to post a fabulous review for the staff and facilities of the Pavillion Care Home. I was lucky enough to get a bed for my mam on the 1st of September last year, knowing that she would eventually need nursing and palliative care. My mam unfortunately passed away on Sunday after a long
battle with physical, ill health and dementia. Her care at the Pavilion has been second to none. The friendliness, humanity, care and compassion from all the staff has been wonderful and much appreciated. I cannot rate the Pavillion high enough and would not hesitate to recommend to anyone needing a clean, friendly and welcoming home. Thank you so much for everything you have done for my mam! I cannot thank you enough!

My husband was admitted to the care home in March 2023, the care has been excellent and the staff are fantastic.
I would definitely recommend, it gives me peace of mind to know he is being so well looked after that we are free to visit whenever we wish.
