Bryony Lodge Care Home is located in Sunderland's Grangetown area and is close to shops, amenities, public transport and the A19.

This purpose-built care home provides accommodation in single occupancy rooms, all of which have en-suite facilities.

Bryony Lodge features TV lounges and a quiet sitting room for relaxation. Separate dining rooms, where residents can socialise at meal times, are also available. Traditional home cooked food is served using fresh produce, with residents being able to select from the choices available daily. Special diets can be catered for.

Residents may benefit from the regular visits made to the home by an experienced hair stylist and qualified chiropodist. Complementary therapies can be arranged.

The home provides a varied programme of activities for residents' enjoyment.

The home is clean and the rooms are small but pleasant. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Good variety of activities. Food looks nice and good choice of menus.

This is a very caring home. The staff are very proud of their reputation for genuine interest in each and every resident - quite rightly so. Nothing is ever a problem (even when they don't know they are being overheard). Nowhere is perfect but this care home is as good as you get. My mother has been
here for two years and five months and is very happy - she would let the staff know if there was a problem!

My dad has been looked after well since he moved in a few weeks ago. I am happy with the quality of care he is getting. He is on a special diet and the staff are working very diligently in order to get him to eat properly.

Hi, I am the Home Manager here at Bryony Lodge Nursing Home!


I am proud to say that I am a dedicated qualified registered manager I have completed QCF Level 5 in Leadership and Management. And I am fortunate to be in a position to lead such a wonderful group of staff I have worked in healthcare since I was 19 and started out as a healthcare assistant within a care home providing complex nursing care for residents, as well as rehabilitation and palliative care. I also managed a Home Care business where I provided help and support into the community.


I love my role at Bryony Lodge and take great pride in supporting the team. The nurses and the staff are a dedicated and well-established group, and are all very proactive. I live local to the care home so I have good knowledge of the area.


Our staff are what holds the home together. Each one of these team members are dedicated to providing high quality care and services to those we support, and ensuring the residents enjoy all aspects of life at our home.v
