Unfortunately, my mum only spent ten days in Tollesby Hall before ending her days in hospital, but she settled really quickly and was happy there. She liked to watch the activity outside her room and loved the friendly staff. I was confident she was well looked after and cared for by the professional,
supportive and caring staff. She also loved her pretty, spacious room.

My father was sent here for respite after spending several weeks in rehab due to his mobility.
Staff sounded very friendly on the phone, asked about family life, dad's needs, etc. The main thing for me was his diet due to renal failure and being diabetic.
I asked if I could visit Dad when he arrived
so I knew he was happy and settled and he had everything he needed close by due to his mobility. I was told I would need to take a lateral flow test which would take half an hour for the results and then I could have an hour with Dad. I was happy with that and they seemed accommodating. I said I would arrive early evening. When I arrived the member of staff went for a test, she was about ten minutes. Then another member of staff came and said I couldn’t see him, I said it was all arranged, etc… but no. This to me was a safeguarding concern! They ended up bringing dad down to see me, he looked dreadful. I brought dad home that night. The food they gave would have fed a 5-year-old.

We are sorry to hear about your experience at our home. It’s happened during the height of the pandemic at an incredibly painful time for all of us. The Government had strict guidelines and regulations. Anyone coming from a hospital or community had to isolate for 14 days, so they were not allowed visitors and this should have been communicated to you. We are sorry. Your father was only with us for a few short hours and so his appearance would not have changed much in that time. He came to us famished, so he was immediately given several options, he chose what he wanted and seemed to enjoy it. Once finished he was given the opportunity to have more but he declined. We were trying to get him settled in his new surroundings but you made the decision to take him home. We really wish you had delayed that decision and given us the opportunity to help your dad to recover with us and show to you as we have done so many times in the past to make a real positive difference to your family’s life.

My mother was admitted to Tollesby Hall, following a brief stay in hospital. She received end-of-life care after enduring four years of symptomatic treatment for cancer. The staff at Tollesby Hall were, at all times, caring and professional. My mother was gravely ill and she passed away at peace and
in no pain. It was a great relief to me to know that she was so well looked after by the genuinely kind staff.

I was in Tollesby Hall Care Home for thirteen months pre and post-surgery and was treated with kindness and dignity for all the time. Choice of food was two choices - lunch and tea. Variable in quality. The cleaners really put themselves out to maintain cleanliness and were most helpful. Unfortunately,
the covid virus curtailed activities, since strict rules were observed to avoid the infection. Visiting was extremely restricted unless a patient was 'end-of-life' and then there were special visiting measures in place. Laundry was washed, ironed and returned the next day.

I cannot speak highly enough of the staff at Tollesby Hall. My mum has dementia and the care she receives is second to none. Each and every member of staff shows her patience, understanding and compassion. I felt anxious about transition to a care home, but the staff have settled her quickly and it
has given me great peace of mind knowing that she is so well cared for. CQC report rating for caring is outstanding and my rating is outstanding ... and above!

I feel very safe and well looked after whilst in the home for rehabilitation after a fall when I fractured my femur.
All staff and management were wonderful with me.

We fell on our feet when our Auntie was accepted at Tollesby Hall at very short notice during the first Covid lockdown. Although we were unable to go into the home until the later stage of her life, the home felt ‘right’.
Our Auntie was very happy at Tollesby Hall, and the care she received was everything
we could have asked for.
In the last week of her life, we were allowed to visit - she was kept comfortable, had a clean nightdress on each day, and the staff showed great care and helped make sure she had a dignified departure. We cannot speak too highly about her care, and our thanks go to all of the staff who looked after her.

The quality of care received from the carers is exceptional. They were always very attentive to Mum and carried out our requests when we had complaints. They went out of their way to continue to check the laundry when we complained, as Mum, on many occasions was being dressed in other residents clothes,
which to us wasn't at all acceptable. They also look into account our requests that the meals she was given were what she liked to eat as Mum never ate red meat. When she rejected a meal, it would be because she would never have eaten it at home. Thank you very much for the caring staff who did support her.

My mother was only at Tollesby Hall Care Home for 5 days before she passed away. The staff were amazing. They could not do enough for Mam. Kind, compassionate, caring and considerate. The chef tried to tempt Mam and made anything she mentioned. Every member of staff was always on hand to help, whatever
we asked for. We were so pleased Mam spent her last days within their circle of love and care.
