Ayresome Court Nursing Home is located on the outskirts of the picturesque, historic market town of Yarm. It is just a short drive from the North York Moors National Park and has good road, bus and rail links, making it easily accessible.

The home offers nursing, residential and respite care in a purpose-built setting, with a caring environment where every resident is seen as an individual. Residents are fully involved in the planning of their care, with their dignity, privacy, choice and independence always respected and promoted.

Residents’ wellbeing is extremely important at Ayresome Court and they are encouraged to participate in physically and mentally stimulating activities, such as walking, cycling, chess, arts and crafts, and therapy sessions. There are also wheelchair-friendly gardens where residents can relax in a peaceful environment.

The home has strong relationships with the library, schools and churches in the local community, and they work closely with health centres, dental surgeries and pharmacies to ensure the care delivered is always of the highest quality.

Their hard work and dedication has been rewarded in the form of Ayresome Court being recognised as a top 20 Recommended Care Home North East England for 2015 and 2016 on carehome.co.uk. They have also won the Akari garden competition for beautiful exteriors.

Absolutely cannot fault the staff at Ayresome Court Nursing Home. They are absolutely fantastic with my grandad and have been for the last nine months. They have so much patience, it’s unreal.
They treat him with dignity and make sure he feels loved and cared for and they do a great job at keep family
updated too.

The nursing home was very clean and orderly. The staff were very helpful and friendly, and nothing was too much trouble.

Since my mother came for rehabilitation with you she has had nothing but the very best of care. Following a very bad experience in a different home, she was very anxious. However, her room is great (very important she had her own ensuite) and the team have been nothing short of amazing.

Ayresome Court Nursing Home cared for my mother in the last few weeks of her life. The care provided was outstanding, both to my mum and to ourselves. Key to Mum's care with the staff for whom nothing was too much trouble, they were professional and caring but delivered this with a sense of humour that
Mum appreciated calling them her new friends. As a family, we cannot thank Ayresome Court Nursing Home enough.

The staff quality certainly is first class. Some of whom go above and beyond their support for me personally as well as for my husband. Certainly outweighs the somewhat tired appearance of the premises and the uninspired and unappetising food.

The care home is very clean. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. My husband was well looked after. We were reassured by there being nurses on site. We would use this care home again.

The staff are excellent, very short staffed. Food is terrible, my family brought it in for me. The shower didn't work on the second floor. In for eight weeks and had a shower once a week. A few were during the early hours like 5 am in the morning because there was not enough staff to do it any other
time. The visitors' toilets were broken and had to use mine in my room. I've had to fill this form in because you need to realise how residents and rehabilitation people feel, not a good experience.

Looked after well by the staff when rehabilitating at Ayresome Court. Mam appreciated all that was done for her whilst at the care home, although may not have sounded like it at the time.
Ayresome Court provided a safe environment for Mam to recover when she was unable to take care of herself.

We are really happy with the care and attention our mam has received during her stay at Ayresome Court. She has responded brilliantly both physically and mentally and it is so lovely to see her smiling again. I cannot praise the staff enough who are always quick to respond, cheerful and caring going
above and beyond. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.

Mam is cared for with compassion and dignity, with staff going beyond what would normally be expected, eg dressing, her hair and putting on make-up for her. We are delighted with the level of care the staff show her.

My mother is currently undergoing assessment in Ayresome Court. The care is excellent. Every member of staff, nurse, managers, health care assistant and domestic are extremely friendly and helpful; they show so much empathy for my mother, and she seems to be very happy and well cared for.
I have stated
excellent for food; although my mother is fed via a PEG, the care and friendliness given to my mum while she has been fed is excellent.

We chose Ayresome Court for some respite care for my mother while I have some medical treatment, as it is close to her normal home. The staff have been lovely with her, but I felt the initial welcome and set-up for her could have been more efficient and welcoming. It would have been helpful if someone
had sat down with us and explained how everything worked, meal times, activities etc rather we have been required to find our own way a bit. The food is adequate (can be cold when served in her room) but additional hot drinks are haphazard. No doubt this is due to the busyness of the staff, but more encouragement for Mum to join in activities, go down for meals etc to help her settle would be good. Rooms are clean, but a change of towels and bedding could be more frequent, although laundry is efficient.
