Ayresome Court Nursing Home is located on the outskirts of the picturesque, historic market town of Yarm. It is just a short drive from the North York Moors National Park and has good road, bus and rail links, making it easily accessible.

The home offers nursing, residential and respite care in a purpose-built setting, with a caring environment where every resident is seen as an individual. Residents are fully involved in the planning of their care, with their dignity, privacy, choice and independence always respected and promoted.

Residents’ wellbeing is extremely important at Ayresome Court and they are encouraged to participate in physically and mentally stimulating activities, such as walking, cycling, chess, arts and crafts, and therapy sessions. There are also wheelchair-friendly gardens where residents can relax in a peaceful environment.

The home has strong relationships with the library, schools and churches in the local community, and they work closely with health centres, dental surgeries and pharmacies to ensure the care delivered is always of the highest quality.

Their hard work and dedication has been rewarded in the form of Ayresome Court being recognised as a top 20 Recommended Care Home North East England for 2015 and 2016 on carehome.co.uk. They have also won the Akari garden competition for beautiful exteriors.

My wife has been in Ayresome Court for about eighteen months, I think the staff - nursing and management are great and very pleasant. They are very quick to sort out any problems that arise.
My wife is always very clean and well looked after and the room is always spotless.
A lot of care homes tend
to have an air or odour about them but here smells nice and fresh all the time.

We were very pleased with the care given to my mum. The staff were friendly, helpful and responded well to the problems facing mum. They looked after my sister and I well when mum passed away - responding immediately when her breathing stopped.

I found the home to be very friendly and considerate. Extremely helpful and very very patient towards my mother and understanding. The home was very clearly homely. Nothing was too much trouble. We entered the home with my Mother as strangers, but we have left as friends. And will stay friends. I would

My 96 year old neighbour has been coming here for respite over the last several years. She enjoys coming and has made wonderful friends with both staff and residents. I enjoy coming to visit her and the staff are always friendly and chatty. My grandmother was here for her last few months 12 years ago
and we were so happy with her care.

My daughter is in the home for temporary care and stay whilst alterations are made to her present home. During her stay, I have witnessed extremely good care towards her. The staff have been very very good in all they do. They are also very polite and nothing is any bother to them.

Following two visits for respite care and visiting other care homes in the area prior to my mother-in-law's move into a home, we concluded Ayresome Court was the best home in the area for my mother-in-law. Since moving in, my mother-in-law has settled in much quicker than we expected and has been welcomed
and treated with great kindness and patience. The food has been scored highly too. I cannot speak too highly of the care she has experienced since moving to Ayresome Court.

Staff are always friendly and helpful. They give as much support to me as they do to my mum. Nothing is too much trouble. Someone is always available to speak to and any concerns are always dealt with. I cannot praise the staff enough for their commitment and dedication.

My mother suffered dementia and Alzheimers and was declining aged 93. Then home took her in and cared for her every need in great detail. What struck me most was the high quality of care across all sections, nursing, medical and caring, cleaning, food, laundry, maintenance and entertainment activities.
What gives the home its special warmth was the close collaboration and attention to detail shared by each staff team. Mum was very happy here up to the moment she died.

My father spent his last few days in Ayresome Court Nursing Home after suffering a stroke at the age of 91. The manager and staff moved heaven and earth to get him transferred late on a Friday and avoid another weekend in the hospital.


During his short time here he was treated with dignity, respect

and affection by the happy helpful and caring staff.

From the day he arrived at the home until the day he passed away, my Dad was treated with dignity and respect.
I popped in most days and was always greeted with a smile.
Nothing was too much trouble during my Dad's last days.
If I wasn't with him a member of staff was, and that gave me peace of
mind during a very difficult time.
Dad passed away peacefully, with dignity, in his own room and that was all I asked for.
Staff attended Dad's funeral and that was lovely for the family to see.
Dad was very happy in the home and was especially fond of being in the garden, doing a bit of weeding, eating ice-lolllies, chatting with other residents/staff or drinking his endless cups of tea!
At his funeral we asked for donations for the Home and raised enough to buy a Companion Seat, now others can benefit from sitting in the garden and enjoying what Dad loved to do the most.
I cannot compliment the staff enough, they were and are wonderful - thank you to the manager and the team.

My mum was admitted to Ayresome Court Nursing Home on 23rd May 2017. She had several bouts of pneumonia and was hospitalised from 19th Jan 2017 to 23rd May 2017. When she arrived at the home she was in a weak state and not interested in getting out of bed. The staff soon got her up and about and she
came back to life. Every time she got ill they were fantastic and seemed to blossom back. She died on the 4th January 2018 almost 95 years old. I did not want my mum to be in a nursing home but the staff were so friendly and cheerful. I could not have asked for anything better.
