I have been extremely impressed with the way the home is run. I have found all members of staff to be very caring towards my mum. They have been very approachable and are always ready to talk and answer any questions. They have given all members of the family fantastic support, for which we are truly
grateful.

My mother was very caringly looked after by all the staff from nursing to housekeeping, activities girls, handyman and carers. Her every need until she sadly passed away on February 1st was taken care of.
The manager's door was always open to us if we had a worry, or even just needed to talk. I was
very adamant to place my experience of mams care into a thank you letter which I sent to various authorities to read.

I moved in on the 14th November for 3 weeks. I found the staff very helpful and pleasant. My room was very nice and I also enjoyed the meals they prepared for us. As I can't eat red meat, the chef would prepare me something different, omelettes or toasted sandwiches or if they had chicken he would cook
that for me which was very kind.
The staff would help me into a chair and change my pad as well. Everyone was very nice.
I also had my hair cut and styled here and the hairdresser was very nice and good at her job.

Victoria House is a lovely care home with some hardworking staff. Residents are always dressed smart and always clean. The activity team work hard making sure there are lots of different activities for them to do. Office staff are very friendly to talk to and happy to help with anything.

My father in law has been a resident for over 2 years, when he first moved in we felt the standard of care was very poor. It has now improved in every aspect and we are more than happy - give the manager a well-deserved pay rise!!

My mum has been at Victoria House for several months now and always looks happy whenever I visit. The staff are really friendly and know my mum really well. I've met the managers and they always have time to chat to me and have always made sure any requests on mum's behalf are dealt with. I would like

The service that was provided for my mother was excellent. The only complaint she had was her clothes occasionally go missing at times, even though her name is in every garment. Many garments were returned days later. However, I would recommend this care home, as the staff are wonderful. It's also clean
and pleasant. Outside/garden could do with a facelift but it's a very nice space, just could be better.

Thank you for your review. As the home has up to 70 residents at any one time, unfortunately the laundry requires a few days to return garments to the residents which you reflect in your review. The company have taken on board your comments regarding the garden and work has just been undertaken to level the patio area to make it a pleasant area for our residents.

My Dad has been a resident for a few months now since coming from a hospital setting. In the time he has been here, he has improved greatly with his mobility and his confidence is growing all the time. Dad is very happy and content here and the staff are friendly, supportive and amazing in their care
- giving they extend that support to my Mam and our family and keep us fully informed in all aspects of Dad's care. It really is a home from home environment. Very impressed.

My husband was depressed whilst in a hospital setting, but since he has been in residence here, he is improving greatly. He had lost 10Kg whilst in hospital and was unable to feed himself. Now he can eat proper food and can feed himself and hold a cup of coffee. He is happy here, comfortable and is
comfortable around the staff whom he trusts and feels safe with. The staff are very kind and helpful to my husband, myself and my family for which I am very appreciated of. Myself and my family are very impressed and we would recommend this home to anyone one hundred percent.

The best part of Victoria House are the staff! Very caring, kind and honest. Had an incident where they found a large sum of money in a pair of trousers which has probably been there for years! They were on the phone immediately to report it, very much appreciated. They respond immediately to the smallest
problems - maybe regarding mislaid items, mixed up equipment etc. They all seem to treat the residents with dignity and kindness.

What does kindness mean to you?

As a Health Care Professional, Vicky has gained many years of experience in providing care and support for older people to enrich their lives. She is a knowledgeable and dedicated leader who is passionate about delivering the highest possible standards of care and quality of life for Residents.


Vicky shares that HC-One’s vision is aiming to provide the kindest care for each and every Resident. She uses her experience to motivate her team to deliver care and support in a way that Residents gain the most benefit, in a warm and welcoming home.


When asked what she enjoys most about her role, Vicky remarked:


“We have a great team; our Resident's best interests are at the heart of all we do. No day is the same, it is an ever-changing role and there are rarely any dull moments.”


Outside of work, Vicky enjoys eating out, and watching sports, she loves anything that involves competition. Vicky also enjoys a good pamper session and most cuddly things with fur!”
