Aycliffe Care Home is situated in Newton Aycliffe, County Durham, just a five minute walk away from the town centre.

It has received a lot of positive feedback about the warm and friendly greeting it gives to visitors . The setting is well known for its generous hospitality!

Staff engage in a very honest, natural way with the residents. They really care about them. They always make sure they look presentable – that the ladies have their make-up on and their clothing and accessories match, that the gents are shaved and their hair combed.

When members of staff pass the residents they’re always very positive and affectionate, at the same time treating them with respect and dignity.      

Aycliffe has a full-time activities co-ordinator who keeps the residents active. There is a film club. The local church has a weekly listening service. There is also a resident committee which produces a newsletter.

There’s plenty going on outside the home as well. Residents often get a taxi to town to shop, go to a café, the library, the leisure centre or perhaps to the ice cream parlour. Residents have regular trips out for example to the petting zoos.

Lovely care home with very caring staff. Regular use of agency staff does not seem to affect service delivery. Cleanliness is good, no awful smells (always a bonus). The only negative comment is around communication between management and me (as next of kin) but hopefully, this will improve when the
recently departed manager is replaced. Overall, very satisfied with my mother's care.

My dad went into the care home for end-of-life care in December and was there for a fortnight before he died. The staff were absolutely wonderful from start to finish and went the extra mile! I have nothing but praise for them. They implemented the Namaste plan we had developed to ensure my dad had
familiar and comforting sensations and cared for us as a family with compassion. Thank you.

All my family and I are extremely happy with the care my mother has received since arriving at the home in October 2023. We know she is being very well looked after and is safe. All staff at the home are friendly and genuinely care for her.

A lovely, very friendly warm atmosphere in the care home. The staff are always very helpful and always have a smile on their faces. Lots of activities going on, always clean and tidy. I know my mum gets really well looked after at all times.

I cannot put into words the high level of care and professionalism coupled with empathy the care home has shown my father.
His whole menina has improved alongside his well-being. This is down to the staff and facilities.

The staff, on a whole, are exceptional there are 1 or 2 who aren't generally as good. The exceptional staff give the home a family feel. They genuinely care.
The only times that they are let down is when there is short staffing, possibly holidays or staff sickness issues. Then you can see the staff
getting stretched and stressed.
I sometimes feel the meals could be a little better, they sometimes don't look the most appetising so we often bring fresh food in to supplement.

Mum, me and the rest of the family describe the experience at Aycliffe Care Home as "superb". We could not ask for better care for Mum. Every member of staff is pleasant and helpful, nothing is too much trouble. The whole of the atmosphere is happy and relaxed.

This care home is so welcoming and friendly. The staff are caring and very approachable. There isn't one member of staff who isn't understanding. Whilst the care home might not be posh, it is spotlessly clean and homely. The food looks very good and plenty of variety.

Aycliffe Court is a lovely care home. All the staff are so friendly and always ready to help. There is quite a diverse range of activities available to get the residents out and about as well as those based at the care home itself.

The care provided at Aycliffe Care Home is fantastic. The staff are very friendly and treat the residents with great care and respect. My mother has been here for the past few weeks and is very happy with all of the staff who are patient and kind. There are a lot of activities for mental health stimulation.
The food is excellent also.

The care home provides excellent care and facilities for my grandmother and other residents and provides brilliant social events and activities. The staff are superb and brilliant and engage with visitors and residents. I am extremely lucky and grateful for my nan's care.

I have found the home very good both in care of residents and visitors. The atmosphere is homely and welcoming, a real home-from-home. My mother-in-law was treated as a real person and despite having dementia was put at ease at all times. I would recommend Aycliffe Care Home to all.

My mum came here from another care home needing very much care. She came in February 2022, and I am so happy with the care and attention all the staff give to Mum, from carers, nurses, management and the boss! It helps my well-being knowing Mum's well-being is being taken care of 100%.

My mam was at Aycliffe Care Home and during this time she received the best care possible from all the staff. She was treated with utmost dignity and care and it was a happy place for her until the end (Dementia) took her. We were (family) all treated with respect and dignity, right to the very end.
