Holly Lodge care home specialises in dedicated residential, dementia and respite care. The highly-skilled caring team creates a warm atmosphere with care tailored to each of the residents.

Residents are encouraged to personalise their own en-suite bedrooms to create their own sense of familiarity and identity. The shops and pub are popular trips as part of a wider programme to take residents out and about and form stronger bonds with the local community.

Dad has been in Holly Lodge for a number of years and I have been generally happy with his care. There have been some issues with the quality and suitability of food offered to him and cleanliness of his surroundings but these seem to have been resolved recently.
Also, the current manager has been
careful to monitor and retrain staff where necessary.

The home is excellently run from the carers up to the management. Everyone involved in the home is polite and friendly and nothing is a bother to them. Would recommend this care home to anyone.

My husband recently had a one week respite break at Holly Lodge. As a family, naturally we had reservations and concerns about his stay, However we were very soon put at east thanks to the lovely warm welcome and the care, understanding and consideration from the manager and every member of the wonderful
team at Holly Lodge. We felt my husbands needs were met with dignity and compassion and he was safe and happy during his stay. Holly Lodge will be our first choice for any further respite breaks. Thank you all.

The ground floor Senior Carer once again quickly identified that there was something "not quite right" with Mam (as she knows Mam so so well, it really helps as the Senior Carer is consistently based on the Ground Floor) and she promptly requested the GP to visit. Despite Mam not showing any signs of
infection, she knew Mam was not "herself" and the GP diagnosed/treated Mam for a chest infection. Once again this prevented Mam being potentially admitted to hospital, as she was assessed and treated very quickly.
The Senior Carer always always shows true kindness, compassion and genuine affection in her day-to-day care and support to Mam - she even took Mam to the local shop in her wheelchair whilst on her lunch break, this shows that she really really does care and demonstrates that she always goes the extra mile. Thank you so much for all that you do, words cannot express how grateful we are to you for really caring for Mam, what will we do when you shortly start your maternity leave.

The whole team at Holly Lodge have been excellent/outstanding re the care of my 75-year-old mother. The manager and deputy manager go the extra mile and are quick to respond to residents' needs. The staff are very friendly and pleasant. The standard of care at Holly Lodge is exceptional. Residents are
always treated with dignity and care. Thank you Holly Lodge for taking great care of my mam, and putting my mind at ease knowing she is happy and cared for.

A very friendly staff, always willing to talk and help.
A pleasing and clean environment with sensible flooring in rooms. Décor stimulating with various picture etc of the area.
Chairs in lounges impeccable. Good assortment of activities. The staff have good leaders.
Only bad comment mum's false
teeth disappeared last September 2017 and still waiting for the dentist.

My Grandmother was made welcome on arrival. All staff are friendly and helpful, nothing is too much trouble. There's no timescale on visiting, allowing myself and family members to visit as often and as long as we wish. I have peace of mind to know that my Grandmother is being cared for to a high standard.

We are really happy with Holly Lodge. My father has settled in really quickly. It is clean and friendly with a good atmosphere. There are a couple of members of staff that could cheer up a bit, but I think that applies to most places. Food is nice. One grip my father has is with the temperature of the
good. It can often be cool/cold.

My dad has been a resident at Holly Lodge since December 2017. The care workers treat him like a member of their family and always make time for us for any problems etc we may have. This has been a very traumatic time for us and Holly Lodge clearly understands that.

My dad went into Holly Lodge for a 2 week trial with a view to it being his permanent home. After 1 week he loved it so much he had already decided to stay. Every member of staff has been helpful, accommodating and supportive of his needs. The staff have been very supportive to us as it's a huge transition
for everyone involved.

The management and carers are all superb and polite and very respectful. They take time to get to know each person and always ensure they treat and care for my mother with dignity and respect. The meals provided are of a high standard and ample, there is always more if required. The home is always clean

From arriving to leaving, my mother was very well looked after and soon brought back to her normal self. Time will only tell after she has been at her own home after a few weeks.


If in the future she needs any help I don't think she would think twice about coming back.

Our mother was a very reluctant entrant to Holly Lodge and at 93 years has several difficulties. We have found the staff friendly, caring and knowledgeable. Mother says she loves the girls and couldn't be better looked after. Most of our worries about her having to become a resident have been dissipated
due to the care received. We would be happy to recommend Holly Lodge to anyone requiring care.
