At Stoneleigh, we provide comfortable accommodation for our residents. Our home is warm, and friendly and welcoming. We have undertaken a lot of work to make the outside gardens more inviting and more pleasant to sit in for our residents. We also do activities outside weather permitting, we also, have a reminiscence and several lounges we can use. Several HC-One homes are receiving a refurbishment, and we are looking forward to this in the coming year. We work with the residents to choose the decoration for the refurbishment. We will put forward the idea of a conservatory when the planning commences for the refurbishment. We regularly review our menu and discuss the choices with the residents to ensure that all tastes are catered for. We continue to have residents’ meetings, and we discuss what they would like in the home.

At Stoneleigh, we provide comfortable, homely accommodation for our residents. Our home is warm, friendly and welcoming.
Unfortunately, due to the COVID 19 pandemic and the associated restrictions we have been unable to facilitate outings away from the Home for our residents. Due to the easing of restrictions, we are now able to offer some outings again and will be recommencing them this week.
Our meal service provision usually occurs at the following times: Breakfast – 9.00am to 10.00am, Lunch – 12.30pm to 1.30pm, Tea – 4.30pm to 5.30pm and Supper – 8.00pm to 8.30pm.
However, as Stoneleigh is our resident’s home, we always try to facilitate meal service provision outside of these times if that’s what our residents need/want. We have snacks and drinks available for our residents throughout the day.
At Stoneleigh, we offer a range of activities designed to encompass a wide range of tastes to suit all of our residents. We offer activities such as gardening, movies, quizzes, arts and crafts and have several projects on the go at the moment – such as making our gardens look wonderful with fairy and gnome gardens and lots of flowers. The residents are also growing some salad vegetables which they’ll hopefully enjoy when harvested. They are also experimenting with non-permanent henna-type tattoos. Of course, there are still the singalongs and bingo sessions held weekly. Our Wellbeing Co-ordinators are always open to suggestions for new things to do.

Thank you for taking the time to complete a care home review regarding Stoneleigh, and I am pleased to hear that you are happy with the staff and the care they give, as providing a caring happy home is what we pride ourselves on most. I am happy that staff have been responsive to concerns no matter how small they may be and have been able to resolve them to your satisfaction. I am sorry that you feel the room is too small and that storage is not what you would expect, unfortunately, this is something I cannot effect any change on. In respect of your comments re food, I would appreciate it if you could discuss your concerns with the management team in the home who will do their utmost to work with you and your Father to remedy this.

Susan is a Healthcare Professional with a number of years’ experience in providing care and nursing support to elderly people to enrich their lives. She is a knowledgeable and dedicated leader who is passionate about delivering the highest standards in care and quality of life for Residents.
Susan closely shares HC-One’s vision in aiming to provide the kindest care for each and every Resident. She extends this caring approach to her colleagues and works closely with them to deliver care and support to Residents in a way that they gain the most benefit, in a warm and welcoming home.
She also works hard to arrange events and activities with nearby schools and clubs and is always keen to include the local community in life at Stoneleigh.
When asked what she enjoys most about her role, Susan remarked:
“I love working with and getting to know our Residents and hearing their stories.”
Outside of work, Susan enjoys walking holidays in the Lake District and Yorkshire with her partner and spending time with her daughters and grandchildren.
