I have peace of mind knowing mam is looked after by caring staff, well fed and warm. Any health issues are dealt with and a community matron sent for. Her room is clean and clothes always laundered.

Most of the staff are excellent but there are never enough people on duty to carry out caring duties and residents have to wait longer than the allocated time.
The activities are not always carried out because of a shortage of staff.
Outings are very infrequent again, due to the lack of staff.

Thank you for your review and the great comments regarding the staff.
Staffing levels are determined by the dependency levels of our residents which are analysed on a regular basis to ensure we can deliver kind care. I can confirm that the staffing levels at the home are in place as according to the levels recommended by the dependency analysis.
We have organised activities and trips following consultation with our residents and these are advertised on our resident/relative's notice boards and we are always happy to discuss the planned activities with our residents and relatives.

Since my mother was admitted in June 2016 the care has been excellent, she was very ill however her health has improved plus her depression has lifted.

I began visiting Stoneleigh in 1995 when a friend of mine was admitted and I managed her affairs. When she died a few years later, I continued to visit all the resident's and I got to know them all by name. This I have done for the past 22 years. I feel that Stoneleigh is my second home and would be
my first choice if I needed care. I find the staff very friendly and enjoy visiting the residents each morning from Monday to Friday.

We chose Stoneleigh over other care homes closer to us because it gave a very welcoming first impression. We weren't wrong. The staff at every level are kind, caring and nothing is too much trouble. Obviously, Mam would have preferred to go home, but I feel she is safer and better cared for here
than she would be anywhere else and she loves the interaction with the staff who make as much time for her as their extremely busy schedule allows. In short, the staff make Stoneleigh an excellent care home.

Good security upon entry. Greeted nicely dressed well mannered happy staff. We were most welcomed. The place throughout was nice and clean, bright, smells nice and heated.
Bedrooms are nice too and very spacious.
Talked to some of the residents too. Activities daily.

All staff are approachable and friendly, happy to oblige with any duty of care that my mother has requested, treating her with dignity and respect.

I am a lady who has visited Stoneleigh Care Home every day for the last 22 years. I visit every resident and all the staff, who are always very pleased to see me and treat me as part of the family. If at any point I needed to go into a care home Stoneleigh would be my "home".

The home is clean, pleasant and the staff are so nice to talk to and seem to treat the residents with great kindness and care. I have visited two or three other homes in the Stanley area (to see friends) and I know that if I or any of my loved ones were to need care in a care home, Stoneleigh Care Home

The home has a lovely feel, I felt it as soon as I walked into initially for a visit. All the staff seem caring, hardworking and friendly from cleaners to carers and entertainment organisers. Residents seem settled and my mother is always clean and well cared for no matter what time I visit.

I find Stoneleigh has very hard working staff. They go a lot further to help my mother than can, in my view, be necessary.
Food is the best the kitchen staff can do with the budget that I am sure will be in place.
Activities which help to keep older people active are happening on very regular occasions.
This home is safe, secure, warm, friendly and gives peace of mind to other family members. Medical treatment is at hand at all hours. Stoneleigh and staff are very good.

The care home has a very nice atmosphere when you walk in. The management and staff are very nice. They treat the elderly with dignity and respect. If I had to go into a care home I would choose this one, you cannot fault any of the staff they are all very nice people. Caring and kind to the residents.

What does ‘kindness’ mean to you?


"Kindness to me is promoting safety, happiness and dignity."


Susan is a Healthcare Professional with a number of years’ experience in providing care and nursing support to elderly people to enrich their lives. She is a knowledgeable and dedicated leader who is passionate about delivering the highest standards in care and quality of life for Residents.


Susan closely shares HC-One’s vision in aiming to provide the kindest care for each and every Resident. She extends this caring approach to her colleagues and works closely with them to deliver care and support to Residents in a way that they gain the most benefit, in a warm and welcoming home.


She also works hard to arrange events and activities with nearby schools and clubs and is always keen to include the local community in life at Stoneleigh.


When asked what she enjoys most about her role, Susan remarked:


“I love working with and getting to know our Residents and hearing their stories.”


Outside of work, Susan enjoys walking holidays in the Lake District and Yorkshire with her partner and spending time with her daughters and grandchildren.
