Located in a residential area in Darlington, Eastbourne Care Home is a spacious home from home setting offering residential and nursing care.

There are 41 bedrooms in total, each offering en suite facilities, with residents encouraged to add a personal touch to help them settle in and feel at home. Across the home there are also spacious living areas, two dining areas where residents can enjoy varied, home cooked meals and snacks and a great outdoors area including a Memory Garden. There is also a café onsite and a hairdressing salon too, giving residents lots of opportunities to socialise and relax.

Today was the first time visiting my mother-in-law, and was very impressed with the home.
Very happy with the manager and all the staff are lovely, kind and professional.
Mother-in-law very happy and looks very well.
I have no worries or problems with the home or her care.

I live in this excellent well-run home, March 2024 will complete two years. The current management and the staff are wonderful. Pleasant with cheerful 'good morning' greetings. The speed of the leader is the speed of the team. She has a smile for me at 84 years old to a 19-year-old carer. The main manager
to cleaners all lovely people.

Mum has been here a year and a half now and has received excellent care during this time. Staff are very professional and friendly tending to Mum's needs. When visiting you're welcomed with a smile and a cup of tea.

Eastbourne Care Home is a home-from-home for my father-in-law. My dad has been in Eastbourne Care Home for nearly six years and loves every minute. Dad has a sound mind, and I have never heard Dad once call any of the staff. They are brilliant with him not only with Dad but with all the family. Always a friendly smile and always a cup of tea and a chat. As soon

I have always found the staff kind and helpful to my mum and me. The staff have been patient with her when she has been in an awkward mood. She likes the food and there is always plenty of it. Her room is always clean. Security is tight. She is always clean and dressed. She is unable to take part in
activities now but she was often in the lounge participating in activities. I am satisfied overall with her care and attention.

The staff, carers and nursing are very professional. The cleaning teams provide an excellent service. Beyond clinical duties, they all develop a personal level relationship with residents and family visitors that creates a wider family and friendly atmosphere. In turn, this makes for a very pleasant

Not a great experience at all. Regularly visiting my sister who would be lying in wet pads and a dirty bed.
Unable to get the care home to understand my sister needed a lot more support than she was getting.
Over 25 minutes once the bell was rang before someone finally came to help. Often we had struggled
ourselves to do the task we rang the bell for.
Alternative menu (non-existent). Showers are regularly missed (5 weeks my sister went without one) and don’t ask cause you won’t get.

It’s very difficult to try and warn people of this care home in a review, but I will try my very best.
It’s been the worst experience you could imagine and my poor mum has been so stressed living here she’s actually got a bald patch from constantly pulling her hair. This was mentioned to the home..
but guess what.. nobody came to talk with us and the upper management and nurses were unapproachable, we found that out very quickly.
Left in drenched pads, drenched bed. Covered in coffee, left lying down to drink hot drinks (I have photos). I was constantly telling the home she isn’t independent but fell on deaf ears.
Obviously some days mum could be more independent and then some absolutely not.
The care home failed to see this in the year mum has been with them.
5 weeks once without shower so you can imagine how my mum felt. She was ready for pouring her water jug over her head to feel clean. Good luck if you choose this home.

Absolutely first class home - could not fault it in any aspect. All the staff are so friendly and so willing to help. My father stayed here for four weeks, and he had nothing but praise and loved the food!
Would definitely recommend this well-run establishment to anyone.

My mum, who passed away in December 2021, had lovely carers who were kind, attentive, willing to go that extra mile. They were fantastic. This Care Home is warm, loving with a big heart, dedicated agency, and staff. I’m proud to say, she was in Eastbourne Care Home, at times they were run crazy but
never faltered in the level of care. Thank you for looking after my mum. Dedication to the end.

My dad was living in sheltered accommodation. He self neglected himself, refused to take medication and a lot of weight loss. When he came to Eastbourne he was eating and drinking very well and improved with his weight. He enjoyed doing activities. Staff have given him good care. My dad is a totally
different man now. I am very happy that my dad is in Eastbourne.
