Middleton Hall Retirement Village is an award-winning, purpose-built retirement community set in a beautiful 45-acre estate that offers a range of residential care services and supported apartments. Independent retirement living apartments and bungalows are also available to purchase on site.

The care services offered include:

Middleton Grove - supported apartments in the historic heart of Middleton Hall offering spacious and comfortable rental accommodation. Care support, housekeeping and dining services are included to enable residents to enjoy an independent lifestyle.

Middleton Court - a higher dependency care service designed for people living with, for example, a progressive neurological condition such as Parkinson’s disease, those recovering from a stroke and people requiring a higher level of physical care, such as a needing a hoist to help with mobility difficulties.

Middleton Gardens - residential care in bright and spacious ensuite rooms with communal dining and sitting areas, supported by friendly and professional care teams.

Middleton Oaks – three households providing innovative small group living facilities for up to 8 people living with dementia or memory difficulties. A lifestyle where residents can participate in different events and use all the facilities available on site is promoted.

All residents are supported to stay active and independent and daily activities and regular trips are organised. Residents, their families and friends can enjoy the village’s extensive community amenities including the Orangery café and shop, restaurant, library, art studio and the estate, with sports pavilion, bowls, boules and pitch and putt, woodland walks and community allotments.

The onsite Health and Wellbeing Centre team also assist residents to use the gym and fitness studio, swimming pool, jacuzzi and therapy rooms and undertake one-to-one sessions.

We have been so impressed with the high level of care and attention that Mum has received during her time at Middleton Hall. She has benefited enormously from the increased social interaction and really enjoys the film club! Staff are superb; friendly, helpful and supportive. The assisted living area
has a welcoming kitchen/dining room where we can join Mum for a cup of tea after work, much like we would at home.

I was persuaded by my daughter to come to Middleton Hall for some respite care, despite some initial reluctance on my part. However, I can honestly say that I have been overwhelmed by the kindness and friendliness of everyone here. I have been made to feel very welcome and more at than I was expecting.
I have thoroughly enjoyed the excellent food, the only problem being it is too nice!

Three weeks respite care at Middleton Hall was enjoyable. I have been there before it allows my daughter to take holidays. I am always very well cared for and the staff are very kind, helpful and sincere. I treat this as my holiday, the food is varied and very enjoyable. The place is set in beautiful
grounds providing lovely walks and also there are trips out arranged by the staff, all in all, they warrant full marks.

My mother-in-law was quite poorly in 2015 and was when feeling better, installed in the independent living section of Middleton Hall having had experience of respite care in March 2015. From the day she moved in it was apparent immediately that she was in a special place. Anytime she needed help it
was given freely without the need to ask. All of the staff walked down the same path with her until she sadly died in September. Primarily Middleton Hall is a home filled with people who are very caring without exception. I feel Middleton Hall should be the yardstick by which all care homes are measured. Their standards are unbelievably high.

I can't rate the staff at Middleton Hall highly enough as they are always smiling, friendly, patient, caring and supportive, all of which made the move of our friend from her own bungalow into a home much easier than expected.


Middleton Hall is set in beautiful grounds which are immaculately kept,

as is the Hall itself. The facilities are amazing - spa with swimming pool, bistro (the Orangery), library, hairdresser, vision room where films are regularly shown - and there are plenty of planned activities and outings.


We always enjoyed visiting our friend, having lunch with her in the Orangery or accompanying her to one of the special evening meals.


A big thank you to everyone at Middleton Hall and the Grove.

After 3 weeks in a hospital and 2 not well at home it became obvious I could not go on our family holiday to Cornwall.
At very short notice we asked if I could go into Middleton Hall.
In 2 days I was in.
In the week that followed I was shown great kindness.
I have a shake on my hand and preferred
to stay in my room for meals, that was arranged.
The food was excellent, there was a choice the day before, lovely soups and sweets.
The ladies who looked after you were so interesting to talk to and never made you feel uneasy.
I missed the holiday but had another.

A pleasant 9 day stay. The smiling, happy staff helped in every way to fulfil all my requirements. The chefs and all serving staff gave me every satisfaction to cook me 1st class meals appropriate for my inability to chew. Every request was dealt with speedily to my satisfaction.


The room was excellent,

possibly a new mattress would make the bed more comfortable. I would like to have more than one art class a week for my next visit in December.

All services were excellent, staff very pleasant and courteous. There were daily activities to be free to join in and other residents I met were friendly and welcoming.
I would have no hesitation in going to this home again!
Excellent all round, I can't say more!

The nursing home facility at Middleton Hall is superb. My father has been a resident for 4 months and everyone involved in his care has done their utmost to ensure that he is comfortable and content. His personal care is tailored to take account of his medical conditions and what he told the Middleton
Nurse he wanted when he first went to the home - a friendly and customer focused facility. The staff know my father well and now know me (as an occasional visitor). The icing on the cake is that his health has improved week by week.

This is my second visit for respite care and now I am unable to travel alone, and do not see the point of going to hotels to sit and watch TV all day. I hope to visit yearly, in place of an annual holiday. The hall is immaculate and provides a homely, although luxurious environment.
Nothing seems
too much trouble for the cheerful, efficient staff and a first rate chef. The grounds are extensive and all provide suitable walks for those not so active as they once were. I have had a lot to do with care homes, for both family and career reasons. Middleton Hall is by far the best I've come across.

My mother has been a resident of the small (8 people) family unit for the past 4 years. Her vascular dementia has progressed so from being mobile and able to communicate when she first lived here, she now does not communicate coherently and is not mobile. In that time the dedicated team of carers have
patiently dealt with all these changes, never has she been distressed, she is content and they understand her moods and needs probably better than we do now. All residents are encouraged to join in all activities adapted to their abilities, many of them take part in household tasks as well as physical activities. Their motto is living well with dementia and they certainly do that. The staff in the unit are truly dedicated to their happiness and well-being at all times.

Colin

Colin Inglis

Job Title: Care Director

Joined: 2021

I was honoured and excited to be join the team at Middleton Hall Retirement Village as their Care Director on March 1st 2021. With this role, comes the opportunity to shape, develop and influence how Middleton Hall’s care services move forward and fully believe in the vision and values that have been established.


One of the exciting things is that this is a completely new role at Middleton Hall and I am planning to use my knowledge and experience to add value to the important services that we provide to our residents and families as well as our care teams.


Having initially qualified as a Registered Nurse, I have spent all my career predominantly in the private healthcare sector working with some local smaller companies, as well as larger national care providers. During this time, I have developed my managerial and leadership skills working in different roles within the sector, from Care Home Manager, Regional Director and Operations Director, before joining Middleton Hall.


As Care Director at Middleton Hall, I am responsible for providing clinical and some operational leadership and with the support of the Co-owner team, am focused on Middleton Hall being established as a provider of high-quality care and wellbeing and developing a motivated and engaged care services team.


In my spare time, I enjoy watching all types of sports, particularly rugby and trying to play a bit of golf.


Debby

Debby MGinnes

Job Title: Head of Care and Quality - Registered Manager

Joined: 2000

Debby wanted to be a nurse since childhood and qualified as a nurse in 1984, with honours. Debby spent the early part of her career working for the NHS in a private hospital in Grimsby, working on surgical wards and occupational health, whilst also working part-time as a teacher at the local college.


Throughout her career, Debby always admired older people because of their life stories that make that person unique. A passion she still holds today.


Debby is constantly looking to broaden her skillset having qualified as a Reiki practitioner and in addition Indian Head & Swedish Body Massage. Whilst at Middleton Hall, she has studied a degree in Dementia Studies graduating with a first-class degree. She built on this with further dementia training by becoming a Positive Approach to Care (PAC) trainer with Teepa Snow.


Debby enjoys that every day at Middleton Hall Retirement Village is different. Working as part of a team that is inspired to make a difference to the lives of older people gives job satisfaction and enables us to ensure that residents live well. She enjoys keeping up to date with practice and ensuring everybody is on the same page so residents have the best quality care possible.

Sheenagh

Sheenagh Young

Job Title: Middleton Oaks Care Manager

Joined: 2010

Sheenagh is responsible for the care and wellbeing of 16 residents predominately with dementia and a team of 30 Co-owners in Middleton Oaks. Her team are responsible for every aspect of their care; cooking, cleaning, caring for and entertaining all Middleton Oaks residents.


Sheenagh's team ensures that person-centred care is provided, and achieves this due to the relationships they build with their residents. The team in Middleton Oaks don't see themselves as a care facility, they see themselves as home.
