  • At St Martins Care, they understand how important it is for families to maintain contact with their loved ones and the importance of the sustained and supported involvement of a resident’s families and friends. They also recognise that residents should have full choice over who they wish to see or be visited by.
    In normal circumstances, there will be no restrictions on visiting hours other than those requested by residents collectively or individually. The only exception may be in the incidence of an infection outbreak, where staff will refer to the Outbreak Management and Isolation Nursing Policy and Procedure.
    St Martins Care Limited will always have regard for the current national guidance in relation to visiting rights and they are determined to do all they can to ensure families see their loved ones as much as possible.

I had to place my mother into Willow Green in November 2020, at the age of 90, due to my father's illness and subsequent death. This was during the Covid restrictions and was not a pleasant experience, but the staff at Willow Green were brilliant. They met her at the door and from this first day until
now the staff at Willow Green have been exceptional in their care, whether it is medical or caring. We have been treated well, which helped my mother's transition from independence.
The care home is clean, does not have any smells including disinfectant. When we visit the staff are always cleaning. We have no complaints.
My mother is delighted at the quality of the food, and she is now gaining weight for the first time in ages.
We cannot express how happy we are (including my mother) we found this home from home and caring setting for her to stay. We are very happy to recommend this home to other people, as we feel we could not have found anywhere better.

Care for mental health non-existent, beds in the room changed every 2-3 weeks. When my husband passed, his things were packed in black bin bags. Clean, dirty clothes were with rubbish. We were also chasing missing things, no-one takes responsibility for things when gone wrong, data protection never
adhered to, never included in activities. Do not go there.

Willow Green Care Home has been under new management since April 2020, we experienced some challenges before that and this resulted in a poor CQC inspection and a local authority embargo. This did not reflect the ethos of St Martins Care and our commitment to deliver the best care to our residents. A new Senior Management Team were also appointed in April 2020 and they have restored confidence, improved the quality and invested in the workforce, this work very quickly resulted in the embargo being lifted and the CQC warning notice being removed. We now continue to build on these significant improvements and have introduced a new e-learning system to ensure our staff have the right skills and knowledge, implemented a new Quality Lead role to support the frontline care team and are investing in the Care Home Assistant Practitioner (CHAPS) programme to support our clinical team. Willow Green currently has a score of 9.9 on Carehome.co.uk and this is a true reflection of the care delivered.

The care given by the staff is excellent, my husband is happy and thinks a lot about the carers. In a very emotional and difficult time, having Willow Green being as good as they are has made the process much more manageable and easier to accept.

My sister and I decided to move my mum to Willow Green Care Home from her previous care home because we were no longer happy with their care.
After moving my mum into Willow Green, and within days, my mum had all sorts put into place for her care and needs.
Unfortunately, my mum was only in the home
for five weeks before she passed away, but I couldn't have been happier that she passed away in this home.
I cannot express enough gratitude for all the help and kindness the carers gave not only to my mum but also us.
The carers always had a smile for you, always helpful.
This home is the tops.

We travelled from Australia to visit my mother in law and as soon as I entered the home I knew she was in a lovely home.
It immediately had a lovely, comfortable feel.
Having visited numerous times I was impressed with the professionalism, friendly, caring staff and management.
Her food was always
well presented and good quality plus varied.
The lounge where we were able to sit with my mother in law felt like her home as it was lovely and the quality of furnishings and colours were excellent.
We can head back to Australia knowing she is in excellent hands and in the best surroundings.
Her room was also very nice.

The care home is light and airy, all the common rooms are nicely decorated and the furniture is very comfortable.
The staff are friendly and most helpful.
The whole set up is clean and tidy, with no awful smells.
Several of our friends visited my mother in the home and were very impressed, one visitor
being a nurse stated it was the best home she had ever seen.
The treatment my mother receives is very good especially as she can be difficult.

The staff members at Willow Green do an excellent job at looking after my dad and make sure that he is OK and also the way his mental state is.
The staff also respect our family as best as they can, it is wonderful. The chefs are excellent cooks as well.
I would recommend this home to many people
who need to put loved ones here. As the home is excellent.

A fantastic place to come and stay.
I would send my own parents here.
Every member of staff are absolutely excellent in the way they treat me and my family. If I have a problem, they will try their best to solve it.
I arrived before Christmas and was looking forward to Christmas dinner as a family
were invited. Each and every one of us enjoyed a very excellently made dinner.

My mother is receiving outstanding care. The staff all exhibits superb qualities - caring, kind and considerate.
Everything is done with a smile. This creates a warm, welcoming and most of all, a happy atmosphere within the residential section of the care home.

The carers, nurses and management work very, very hard and are very, very good. The activities coordinator is extremely hard working and very very good at her job and has become a personal friend to me. All the staff here are absolutely fantastic and I am very very happy living here.

Throughout my mother's time at Willow Green Care Home she was treated to the highest standards of care. This sums up my feelings for this care home. From the moment my daughter and I came to see it we knew this was home from home!. Clean as a whistle, staff polite and friendly whatever the time of day
and the residents were kept and treated to the best at all times. The standards were off the chart thank you to Willow Green.

Due to management changes that have been experienced over the past months, staff changes and instability caused by these changes the moving of residential care to a new suit has caused great concern for continuity and continuing levels of care provided. There is a now a manager of previous experience
at the home recently reinstated who has already created a much more caring homely feeling to the home and all the staff are responding well to the directions and guidance offered giving residents and family peace of mind.

My husband has finally settled after his move to the home in June. Staff provide most of his needs and he has a one to one carer. I find some staff really put themselves out to help you and it's appreciated. He enjoys his meals and snacks.

Thomas

Thomas Horn

Job Title: Registered Manager

Joined: 2020

Tom has worked within various elements of health/social care and adult social care over the past 20 years. He has considerable experience with Learning disabilities within treatment and assessments hospitals, mental health, domiciliary care and elderly care. Prior to this Tom worked within secure units for young offenders. Like many, Tom "fell into the care sector" as a career when he left the military. He was at a crossroads, not knowing what he should do next when he was offered a position within children’s services. From there he hasn't looked back, working in many roles and differing environments. Tom has continually developed new skills for each role and has always been able to bring that "something else", sharing the knowledge that he has developed along his career journey. When asked about his passion for care, Tom Says, "working within care is what I do, I can't imagine myself doing anything else. The friendships and bonds that we build with the individuals we care for are fantastic and the rewards are seeing someone thrive, witnessing someone recover from illness and being able to return home or just sharing a moment and seeing someone smile." Tom has worked for St Martins Care since April 2020, which Tom says has been great. "I’ve found that we all share the same vision which is the provision of outstanding care, this isn’t just a management ethos but the belief of all staff from the ground up. We believe that we do indeed provide excellent care but there is always room for improvement, our goal is to provide care which is perfect person-centred to each individual, care where we have full involvement of that person but care that includes families and friends and the local communities."


Kirsty

Kirsty Chapman

Kirsty began her career at North Park residential care home in 2008 and had no care experience prior to that. Her first role was as a Care Assistant within North Park looking after both general residential and dementia residents. She was supported to gain relevant qualifications and soon after was promoted to Senior Care Assistant. In 2019, Kirsty applied for and was promoted to a lead senior role and by 2020 became Deputy Manager. In 2021, Kirsty decided she needed more experience to develop her career and joined Willow Green and St Martins Care as a Senior Care Assistant. Kirsty says “I haven’t looked back since joining St Martins Care, I am now the Deputy Manager of Willow Green and I am very grateful for this opportunity. The entire team are fantastic, this includes care staff all the way to senior management. We are just one big team, we all care deeply about the roles we hold and work in partnership with families, friends and outside professionals to ensure we meet the varied needs of our residents. To nurse someone back to health, re-enable someone with mobility and to help people through some of the most trying times, is a privilege. I am very grateful to St Martins Care for this opportunity and look forward to a bright future.”
