Thank you for your comments about Hillside Lodge. We appreciate you taking the time to give feedback and have acknowledged the concerns you have. All of our care team are provided with training to support our residents’ oral healthcare, however, we will continue to monitor this.
Every meal we serve is planned and prepared with the utmost care to ensure optimum nutrition and variety for our residents. Our menu has been designed so that residents always have a choice of alternatives depending on what they fancy that day. This includes nutritionally balanced, soft-eating meals to help those who have difficulty chewing or swallowing.
Our chef is available from Monday to Friday every week to discuss any meal options that are required. Please do reach out to us at the home if you would like to discuss anything further. Thank you again.

Our Magic Moments Together programme aims to help our residents to love every day and is varied to provide interesting activities for mind, body and soul. Understandably, not every resident wants to participate. We will encourage participation, but respect resident’s wishes if they do not want to join in.
Our chef and catering team prepare all our residents’ meals fresh every day with seasonal produce and ensure that we cater to everyone’s individual tastes and dietary requirements. Our chef will take the time to meet new residents and discuss their preferences, but we have passed your feedback onto our team to ensure that new residents are made aware of this right away.

Vanessa has worked in the Elderly Care Sector for over 33 years. She started her career as a Care Assistant and worked her way up to the Unit Manager in 1991. In 2015, Vanessa joined as Home Manager. Vanessa has achieved a lot in her career, but her proudest achievement outside of her career would be deep-sea diving around the world! In her spare time, Vanessa enjoys spending time with her family and going holidays.
