Mill View was established in 1991 and was the first purpose-built care home in the Rhondda. It has an open, homely atmosphere and the manager and staff understand that it is important that residents and their loved ones feel listened to and valued.

The aim is to ensure everyone is cared for and made to feel safe and secure and to do this Mill View has a dedicated, professional team. They are skilled in nursing and elderly care needs, and promote a sense of family, warmth and wellbeing. Why not pop in and have a look round or give the home a call and talk to the manager.

Mill View is conveniently located right in the heart of the Rhondda Valley in the village of Ystrad with bus and train routes on the doorstep. It is registered to accommodate 40 people over the age of 55 with nursing and/or personal care needs and a maximum of five people over the age of 65 who may have a diagnosis of dementia.

When I knew my husband had to go into a nursing home, I was scared because I have heard about so many bad experiences that people have had in nursing homes. I tried to keep an open mind and judge for myself. It wasn't easy at first for my husband or myself, but the staff were patient and understanding.
I had a lot of support from the staff - they were good. The management there are excellent and there is a good team spirit.

My brother has complex medical problems but the staff at Mill View have worked to accommodate him and make him feel at home. The staff have kept his family well informed and made us feel welcome at every visit. I cannot thank them enough.

My mum has been a resident at Mill View for over two months and whilst she has been here, all the staff have been more than helpful every time I have asked for anything. Nothing has been too much trouble and anything asked for to help Mum has been fetched immediately. Mum has always been very well looked
after and I have never visited her and found her needing to be washed or not changed. I visit anytime during the day, even up until midnight. Thank you all so much.

My sister has been living in Mill View for a couple of years. Myself and my family have good faith in the staff and management. We are always informed of my sister's wellbeing.

My relative has been a patient at this home for some 5 years. In this time we have been satisfied with all that has been done, although there has been a blip re leadership it is now hopefully been resolved. At no time has our relative been unhappy. The staff throughout have always been caring, We look

You can not fault the home, the staff, everyone, the cleanliness. They have lovely entertainment - whenever we come there is something going on. We find the staff friendly and open, even though my sister is not always aware, the staff always take time to include her in the activities. I can not praise
them highly enough, they are all my heroes.

My mother has been in Mill View Care Home for almost three years and since being a resident there she has improved 100%. She enjoys the company of other residents and enjoys the meals she receives. She also enjoys the banter with the carers although she can be feisty, one of the reasons she has attained
100 years of age.

My mother, who had terminal cancer, was admitted to the care home, after looking at others it was decided we would use this one, as the staff seemed friendly.
Unfortunately, she only had a couple of months, but the time spent there, staff were lovely and she was well-looked-after.
On the night she
died, the staff informed us, and as we had a fair way to travel, when we got there, they looked after us offering not only support but refreshments. My brother was with her all night and the staff they came in to offer support.
When she died they treated her with dignity and respect. They also let us take as much time as needed, and chatted to us and supported us.
Although my mother was only there a while, I know she was happy and well looked after.
From myself and my family, I would personally like to say a BIG thank you, you made a very difficult time, run smoothly.


I would definitely recommend Mill View, it's not about the building but the people/staff inside. THANKS.

This care home is a good care home, I personally reviewed a few before choosing Mill View for my mother. This care home is clean and well kept. They provide a good service to the patients, where possible to be helped. The staff here are very helpful and friendly. This care home could do with increased
activities for the patients that are able. This meaning they can go out for the day or just on a trip.

After a six month stay at hospital, my Husband was discharged to Mill View Nursing Home early January 2016. My Husband has settled well due to the care and attention given to him by staff. He enjoys the food and has put on weight after losing 3 stone in hospital. As a family, we have found the staff
to be very welcoming and friendly, always eager to answer any questions we may have and understanding that this has been a difficult emotional time for us. While visiting, we have observed how staff treat all residents with respect and create a homely atmosphere for all.

My gran came here as a respite client originally but due to personal reasons had to become a full time resident. At first gran was very upset and unsettled but the staff were wonderful to her and to us as her family as it was very upsetting for us. She soon became settled and very happy, enjoying the
company, the activities and entertainment. She was very well looked after, personal needs- clean, hair done weekly, clean clothes. The staff were always calm, patient and fully involved with gran. Even up to her last days everything was the same. As a family visit we were welcome any time day or night, always informed of grans wellbeing and medical needs. I would recommend this home to anyone.
