The approach road to the home is a disgrace. It is positively dangerous due to the surface finish, i.e. potholes, patches, very uneven surface.
The shock absorbers on my car scream in protest. The gas injections can be heard inside the car.
How the staff and ambulance men put up with it amazes me.
Don't
the managers or area managers drive and then complain about it?

Thank you for your comments-the drive has been constantly repaired when needed for short periods, mainly due to us requiring emergency access for our residents at all times,and we will be attending to it again soon despite the huge inconvenience it poses.We are a small private company,not eligible for funding the access road, and made the decision in the last few years to reinvest in the areas around the Home ie the extensions and the grounds ,where residents are able to spend quality time in lovely surroundings.

I would highly recommend this care home. My uncle was with you for eight years, and the care is outstanding. There's so much going on and to do, and this is what the residents need to keep them occupied. Keep up the good work.

Ysguborwen Care Home is, without a doubt, the best I've come across. We wish things were different for my grandmother, but we have reassurance knowing that she is well cared for in a home that provides lots of stimulation, warmth and personalised care. We particularly love the grounds and regularly
take my grandmother for a stroll around the pond, which she loves. We are so grateful to all staff, who go above and beyond to care for her. Thank you.

My mother has been in Lilac unit since February 2021 and we are so relieved and happy with the care she receives there. Following my father's death from vascular dementia my mothers' Alzheimer's dementia deteriorated considerably and she came to Ysguborwen Care Home. We had heard only good reports and
peace of mind was paramount in our choice of home. The staff are brilliant, they are all friendly, caring and seem to go out of their way to engage with the residents to make them happy. My mother, although she doesn't realise why she's there and thinks she's going home tomorrow to dad says "It's a very nice place and the staff are lovely". She engages with all the many activities and entertainers and looks so much more healthy since being here. She is vegetarian and the catering staff give her a veggie diet. The building and grounds are well maintained and she loves the pond and chickens which makes visits in the better weather more easy and pleasant. 10/10.

What can I say about this nursing home; it's absolutely amazing.
The staff are so caring and friendly.
The home itself is beautiful and absolutely clean.
The care they show my mother-in-law is amazing; they have welcomed her into her new home with open arms... and have settled her in so well that
she now does not miss us.

My dad was 90 years old and quite ill when he went to live in Ysgburowen. Within ten days, he was far better and enjoying his stay, in his words, in this hotel. The ladies were great with him and really cared.

My grandad stayed in Rose Ward for over two years, and the staff were exceptional throughout. They extended his life and really cared. The Facebook photos were great for the family, who couldn't see him so often. Grateful for everything they did for him.

The staff on the Lilac Wing have been excellent in managing my uncle's needs.
There are plenty of activities throughout the day, and the surrounding grounds provide plenty of interest for residents and are great for outside visits.
I have been impressed by all the staff, who have been involved with
my uncle's care, and there appears to be a good rapport and banter between my uncle and the staff that care for him.

My cousin only spent the last six weeks of her life at Ysguborwen. She was treated with dignity and respect, responded to her needs, and anticipated them when she was too poor;y to make her wishes known. Staff were supportive, involved and communicated with me. They took time to feed her. They ensured
the best care by contact - ring the relevant medics. My mother-in-law is still a resident at the home where she is kept well and busy with numerous activities, kept us informed throughout Covid restrictions and has a good understanding of her dementia.

We visited some care homes locally when looking for a facility to look after my grandparents a few years back, and were struck by how much better the Lilac unit here appeared than others.
The facilities, philosophy of care and staff were perfect for their needs to live life with dignity, respect and
stimulation. They seem to have the right balance in encouraging residents to join in with activities but are mindful not to force people when they just don't want to.
My mother is now a resident, and we are so happy with the care she receives too. The staff are very kind to not only the residents but their families too and go well over and above in their roles. When I learned she had a placement here, it was a big relief, as I knew she would be looked after at the best possible level.

My mother arrived at Ysguborwen Care Home following a long stay in hospital. Her general physical condition and mental health were low from illness/isolation from family in hospital due to covid restrictions. After 6 months on the Lilac unit she has flourished.
She is the happiest and healthiest I
have seen her in years. She has started to enjoy life again after years of loneliness thanks to the fantastic care and entertainment staff at Ysguborwen.
This care/residential home allows all the residents to live their older lives to their full capacity. My mother is always clean, smartly dressed, and joining in activities with other residents and has her sparkle back in her eyes. Excellent home.

I was glad I attended the review everybody had the chance to speak and notes were taken. I was amazed when it was revealed that the carers all have training and exercise in the event of a fire, it opened my eyes to the fact that the staff at Ysguborwen are highly trained in all aspects.

I watch staff grow and develop and seeing the residents laugh and smile each day is a big bonus to my working day.
