With a large, landscaped garden for residents to enjoy, a therapy dog named Archie, and various features within the home – including a social café, activities room, and traditional pub – Shire Hall is a place where residents thrive.

Shire Hall Care Home is absolutely amazing at looking after Dad. It's so relaxing, a lovely cafe and a beautiful garden. From the minute Dad arrived, he was cared for and looked better than he had done for months. A particular member of staff and the whole reception team are outstanding at their jobs,
so friendly and always on hand for a shoulder to cry on. Thank you; it has been a great help during such a difficult time. Everyone is like a family; we couldn't wish for better. Thank you.

Since Mum moved to Shire Hall, I have gained peace of mind, knowing that caring professionals are looking after her. The staff are kind, caring and thoughtful towards Mum and keep me informed of anything I need to know. Mum is treated with dignity, and the staff that care for her impress me with their

Dad came to Shire Hall in October 2022 from the hospital bedridden. Over the last six months, Dad's care team have literally supported and cared for Dad back onto his feet and walking. They care for him. I feel as if he was one of their family members. They give him his dignity.

My father arrived very poorly from the hospital, and we found the Shire to be excellent. They have built up my dad's appetite and general overall well-being. In fact, he is now even starting to walk again on a frame after being bedridden for months in the hospital. We are happy because he is so happy.

Excellent care home - wish there was a Shire Hall is Barry. Fantastic staff and all are very welcoming. Mum is well looked after and cared for - home-from-home. Nice welcome when you walk in from reception. Staff, well done.

Mum has been here for nearly five years and has been looked after like family. All staff are friendly and caring, and Mum is very happy here. There is excellent communication, and visiting is a joy in beautiful surroundings of coffee shops, gardens or bedrooms. Activities regularly. I'm very grateful
for everything done for Mum, with many staff going above and beyond. Thank you!

My mother has lived at Shire Hall for seven years now. My father was there for the first two years. I can honestly say we could not have found better care for them. Each and every team member that works at Shire Hall do their best to make the residents feel at home. They are truly amazing. It was extremely
difficult and distressing not being able to see Mom through Covid but knowing that she was being cared for by the best. The team at Shire Hall are like part of our family now; we missed them through Covid too. I would have no hesitation recommending Shire Hall to others.

I have been visiting Shire Hall now since 2015, when both my grandparents lived here. Everybody there is just so caring, friendly and lovely and always talks to you. They are all like an extended family of ours now, and we wouldn't have it any other way. The care they give to my nan (and used to give
my papa) is just exceptional, and care/treat my nan like she's one in a million. I would highly recommend Shire Hall to anyone and all its staff members.

I moved my husband. He was there for 11 months. He had numerous unexplained bruising, the floor was dirty, he was not dressed appropriately and he was often dirty.
He was given someone else's medicine, given medication he was allergic to, which I had clearly informed them in writing that he was severely
allergic and it was also on his hospital records. I was not consulted about the change in medication or bruising. He had an allergic reaction.
There was very little care given, very little activities unless you count turning on the radio or TV as stimulating activities. My husband was left to wander with very little supervision. The garden which they boast about was often locked, residents were not given time there. I never saw residents there with staff at any time in the 11 months he was there. It was for visitors, not residents.
They destroyed a direct debit, asked me for 4 months fees @ £1400 per week, tried to charge me £5400 which I had already paid. After numerous complaints it was found. Staff complaints common.
