Welcoming and friendly are the first words I always use when talking about Ty Enfys to friends and family. Staff always greet me and mum with our names and are so professional- from the reception desk to the laundry staff, the cleaners, the carers, the management. Nothing seems too much trouble with
a genuine sentiment that this is a home for my mum to welcome visitors to, anytime of day.
Efficient laundry systems, flexibility to share meals with my mum - the everyday and the special occasions - the freedom to help with care needs or ask for help and advice. It's consistently there whoever is on shift. I genuinely enjoy my visits to see Mum now as the options to use the cafe, garden, restaurant, private dining, communal lounge as well as Mum's room means I can easily respond to how Mum feels on any visit. It's also easy to temporarily park outside the front entrance to get Mum and her wheelchair into the car for our outings, with a porch to protect her from rain.

Dad moved into Ty Enfys in September 2020. He was warmly welcomed by everyone and had lots of his personal bits and pieces in his room to make him feel at home. Shortly after, visiting was stopped due to covid lockdown but as soon as restricted visiting was allowed the staff made sure a safe space was
made available for his family to reconnect until unlimited visits were again allowed.
As a family, we are more than happy with the care and support Dad receives on a daily basis as his health declines and all the care staff always have time with any queries the family have. The atmosphere is happy and a programme of events ensures there is always something going on. The home is always clean and tidy, with excellent, on site chef cooked meals offering a variety of tasty options. Much work has been done by both staff and residents alike in the gardens, both floral, vegetable and sensory areas making them a great place to enjoy, weather permitting. We would highly recommend Ty Enfys.

I am very pleased with the time Ty Enfys. My sister had a very unhappy experience in her previous home, she was only there for almost six weeks. Even though the previous home was modern and theoretically 'dementia trained staff', I would disagree, the staff at Ty Enfys are excellent and help with my
sister. My sister is a different person here. I cannot comment upon the food as I have not seen any or tasted it, though the cake in reception is very good. My sister is happy here, which is very important. Thank you.

My mother moved to Ty Enfys in January 2024 on the nursing floor. She has received excellent care. The nurses are approachable and always call if there are any issues. I feel that she is being very well looked after. Which is a big relief to me. In addition, the carers are activity staff and fab. They
never patronise, they laugh and joke and treat her like a friend. All the staff at Ty Enfys and the manager and domestic staff are always friendly to families of residents and are welcoming to us and the kids. It feels like a second home.

It is always a pleasure to visit Mum at Ty Enfys. There is always a friendly welcome and a smile. This makes a huge difference, as Mum does not recognise me and is no longer able to have a conversation. Mum has been a resident for 4 years. Mum is always well dressed and all her personal care needs are
met. The staff are always willing to put Mum in a wheelchair so that we can visit the garden or the coffee lounge.
This makes visits all the more pleasurable. Thank you Ty Enfys staff for your continued care.

I visited my Mum at Ty Enfys in April, having flown over from Australia, where I now live. The staff were so welcoming and helpful. They were so sympathetic to the travel distance there is between Mum and me and very supportive in every way. Mum has settled in extremely well and is happy, smiling, enjoying
eating again and doing activities. Ty Enfys welcomes all Mum's friends too, which is what she needs, as she was worried no one would visit her once she was not in her own abode. Mum gets all the help she needs, as well as allowing for her independence. The care is outstanding and Mum looks so much better, always smartly dressed and hair is fabulous. Everybody knows her and acknowledges her with a hello and her name.
A huge thank you to all at Ty Enfys.

My mam has specific nursing and dementia needs and so a care home became the only option for her needs and best interests, from the moment I entered the home I just knew it was the place for my mam, you enter into a lovely little coffee shop and there's a little hairdresser to the side. It's lovely
airy and bright and so welcoming, my mother's room is beautiful it's spotlessly clean and no expenses are spared with the quality of personnel items needed for the residents. I stayed a few times in the beginning for lunch with Mam to get her settled and the quality of food is exceptional no processed rubbish it's exceptional and honestly nothing is too much trouble for anyone, I don't feel like Mam has (carers) looking after her when I'm not there instead it feels like family, my mother is much cleaner healthier and happier since being in Ty Enfys. Management are amazing and they treat their staff as equals every person is important whatever their role and it shows.

Home recommended to me and I couldn't be more delighted. Staff are kind, caring and nothing is too much trouble. The ambience of the home is wonderful the moment you enter the building and throughout the whole home. I feel so much better knowing my sister is well looked after and safe. Lots of activities
on offer to help stimulate the residents. Meals are of excellent quality and good variety. Certainly made the right choice. Would willingly recommend to other families looking for excellent caring community accommodation for a loved one.

My mother was a resident at Hallmark Ty Enfys from October 2021 until her passing in March 2024. From the very first minute she arrived until the day of her death, she was treated with great care and love. The staff, without exception, were first class. They gave Mum the best possible care, managing
her many health issues with professionalism and compassion. I could have not wished for better! Fantastic.

It's hard to describe the difference in my mother since arriving at Hallmark Ty Enfys end of January 2024. She is like a different person, more alert and so happy and content. This is all down to the care and understanding of all the staff at Hallmark Ty Enfys. From our initial visit in December to
her actual arrival in January has been a pleasant, trouble-free journey. The ease of the app to check activities she has joined in is also a massive asset as we live abroad.

Mum joined Ty Enfys in April of 2023. After a stay in the hospital, she was weak and needed help to regain her fitness levels and confidence. The team at Ty Enfys have been nothing short of amazing, it is incredible to see how the Ty Enfys team have helped her with her rehabilitation through care, nutrition
and social opportunities. She is now engaging more in activities and developing her social network. We have found the perfect home for her.

Back in August, my 94-year-old father started a 2-week respite at Ty Enfys due to a trapped nerve in his leg. He stayed on for another month, but meanwhile, my step-mother also booked in for a 2-week respite due to ill health too. They then both decided to stay on a permanent basis.
When I first
stepped foot in Ty Enfys (August 2023), I was blown away by the immediate welcome I felt from the front-of-house staff. I can best describe it as a "home-to-home" feeling - I felt safe and secure and I knew it was the right nursing home for them. The facilities throughout are kept immaculate and they work so hard to ensure the residents' needs are met.
Now, 4 months later, I'd like to thank, very much, the management and all the staff. GP's, care, nursing, hospitality, catering, maintenance and activity, for the incredible services they provide and for bringing them both back to great health again.
I now have peace of mind they are both happy again, warm, well fed and content!

Christmas at Hallmark Ty Enfys is always a delight with loads of activities, both in-house and from outside. We were given a leaflet with details of all the events planned. Managed to attend two things with my sister, during the 2 weeks, was welcomed by staff, and helped with my sister.

I’m General Manager at Ty Enfys and have enjoyed working here for ten years. I completed my nursing degree in 1984 and then worked in the Middle East until 1999, gaining experience in nursing, psychiatric medicine and oncology. I am proud to be part of a passionate team that put the happiness of residents at the heart of everything we do. We are delighted to have been recognised as one of the top 20 care homes in the whole of Wales.

I am the Lifestyle Leader at Ty Enfys and have been since 2014. I get great job satisfaction out of my role and working closely with the residents, getting to know their likes, dislikes and life histories which are always fascinating; it’s the biggest perk of the job. I have lived in Cardiff since attending Cardiff University in 2008 and I couldn’t see myself anywhere else! Organising trips, events and entertainment allows me and the residents to see all of the great things that Cardiff has to offer.

I am the Dementia Community Lead and have been working at Ty Enfys since 2015. I have been a nurse for over 16 years, recently becoming the community lead position.


I enjoy my role and the difference I make in the care of those living with dementia. Relationship-centred care is at the heart of all I do and I love to see residents thrive each day.

Job Title: Nursing Community Leader

I am the team leader on the Nursing Community. I qualified as a nurse in India in 2009 and came to the UK in 2012 to study a Professional Practice Diploma at the University of South Wales which was incorporated with the overseas nurses programme.


I started as a Care Assistant at Ty Enfys in 2012 and obtained my UK PIN number in 2014. I have been a nurse at Ty Enfys ever since!
Building relationships with residents and colleagues, together with meeting the needs of the residents is what I most enjoy about my job.

Job Title: Love and Affection Manager

Ted has been with us since he was 8 weeks old and now it feels as if he has always been here. The benefits of pets within a care home have been widely documented and we can see first-hand the positive effect Ted has on the residents and visitors here at Ty Enfys. He works Monday to Friday 9 am-5 pm and is so friendly, bringing a smile to so many faces.
