What an amazing, friendly, caring and excellently managed place!
We visited Ty Enfys as well as several other care homes in the Cardiff area to find the best available care for our mum. As soon as we walked through the doors of Ty Enfys and were greeted by the friendly, caring, patient staff and saw
the wonderful facilities, we knew it had to be the place for our mum.
The support, care and excellent communication we experienced from the Ty Enfys team allowed us to ensure a seamless move for our mum into the home, knowing that she would have the correct care she needed.
Since our mum took up residence at Ty Enfys, we have all felt part of the Ty Enfys 'family', as the staff are also concerned for relatives' well-being and are always ready to answer questions, offer support, explain medical issues and deliver cups of tea!
We would highly recommend Ty Enfys to anyone looking for care for a loved one, as you will have total peace of mind knowing they are safe and well looked after.

Can’t recommend Ty Enfys enough. The quality of care is second to none. There is a real warmth to the place, with kind and welcoming staff who take a genuine interest in Mum and her well-being. Despite being shy, she now has friends and has entered into the many activities on offer, including a book
club that she loves. She also has the opportunity to treat herself - having her hair cut, nails painted and even a sensory bath!
Aside from her quality of life, I have the peace of mind that Mum’s health is monitored, with staff very quick to pick up on any changes and a visiting doctor who comes once a week.
I’m also able to bring Mum’s dog to visit, so whilst she’s had to lose some independence due to the care she now needs, nevertheless, her life most certainly goes on, and there’s always something to do or someone to talk to.
As a daughter, I worried about ‘putting Mum into a home’, but this feels different. It’s a weight lifted for me knowing Mum is happy and cared for so well.

Excellent personalised care. Mum is treated with dignity and respect, and there are a good number of activities for her to attend. She is happy and contented when I visit her. I would recommend this home for anyone looking to place a relative unable to care for her/himself due to dementia.

My 92-year-old cousin, for whom I have POA, was relocated to Ty Enfys Care Home several months ago after a difficult period at his previous home. I cannot speak too highly of the care and attention he has received from the staff at Ty Enfys Care Home. He is happy, comfortable and safe. All the staff
have been unfailingly courteous and caring to both him and all his visitors. I am kept regularly informed of events and anything that impacts on him or his condition. The move has been an outstanding success and I have no hesitation in recommending this home to anybody seeking to move into care.

Ty Enfys is an absolutely amazing place, the care and support provided is second to none. Every aspect of the provision of care is excellent, the nursing staff monitor the residents and are quick to pick up any health concerns and act upon them, the care staff are friendly and patient and attend to
the resident's needs in every way, the independent living staff encourage the residents to take part in a range of activities providing motivation.
The front-of-house staff are welcoming, display warmth and friendliness and are extremely approachable. Nothing is too much trouble for them.
The management has a presence and makes you feel comfortable and relaxed assisting you in decision-making whilst demonstrating care and compassion.
The food is excellent with a fabulous menu choice. The kitchen staff will go out of their way to prepare a special meal and serve it in privacy.
The facilities are excellent. I have peace of mind knowing that my loved one is safe and well cared for.

My aunt has been in this home for over a year now and I would certainly recommend it. Every department works hard to ensure the residents are well cared for. There are regular reviews and relatives are kept well informed. The management is very approachable and all the teams from the cleaners, caterers,
laundry and maintenance etc. Are always very helpful. I did a lot of research before choosing this home and am more than happy to recommend it.

I could not have asked for better care for my husband in the last 7 months of his life. Staff are caring and kind not only to residents but to family members too.

My father recently passed away, having been a resident at Ty Enfys Care Home for the last seven months of his life. He had complex health issues & required around-the-clock care. My family & I couldn’t have asked for a better home where he would receive the support he needed.
The home itself was modern,
accommodating & had excellent facilities.
The staff & carers were absolutely wonderful from day one. They showed so much kindness, patience & compassion in caring for my father. They ensured my father’s final days were as comfortable as they could possibly be. My family & I are extremely grateful for this. We also found it incredibly touching that a few of the carers attended my father's funeral. It’s something that we won’t ever forget. Thank you so much!

My experiences from the first time I visited Ty Enfys Care Home, to look round with a view to moving my mother into long term care, to moving her in and the subsequent weeks of her residence and care have been nothing short of excellent. I have found the staff (at all levels) friendly and very caring,
but not patronising, and this has helped my mother settle much more quickly than I could have imagined. She is now telling me she is happy and loves her room, she's eating well and looks so much better than before she was moved to Ty Enfys. She has also started to join in some of the activities, especially flower arranging and knitting, something we as a family never dreamed she would do! So, thank you to all.

My Dad has been a dementia nursing resident since July 2022. He is comfortable, very well-fed and his caregivers have been consistent, kind and thoughtful. Ty Enfys Care Home is a warm and welcoming community, that is well run and heads and shoulders above some other homes we looked at for Dad. It is
a huge weight off our minds that the team are able to look after him professionally, as he now needs specialist round-the-clock attention. (The activities look great but Dad isn't able to access them as he has less capacity these days, so I haven't given a rating for them).

My sister sadly passed on, last November, after being in Ty Enfys for a long time. Her sense of well-being over the last 12 months was a continuation of many years. She had suffered from anxiety before she took up residence at the home but I am delighted to say that when she was at the home, the anxiety
left her. I believe the social aspects of the home and the priority given to entertainment, which continued over the last year, helped my sister a great deal. I am very grateful to the manager for the way the home was run and to the caring staff.

My mother moved into Ty Enfys in late October 2022. We chose this home as it is purpose-built, offers the care we needed, has a wide range of facilities and activities to engage in and all the team we met, were very friendly and professional. The team were very supportive both during the decision process
and then the preparation and moving-in process. They spent time with me to understand my mother's history, likes and hobbies so they could maximise her engagement in discussions and activities. All the team are helping my mother to settle in and are encouraging her to spend time in the communal areas and engage with others.

Mum was allocated a residential room in early November. From the minute we arrived, the staff at the care home were very attentive and made sure mum was ok. Leaving your home of 66 years is extremely difficult, but the transition has been made so much easier due to the lovely surroundings, caring attentive
staff and good food. I am very happy for mum to be a resident here and feel such relief that she is being looked after so well. All the staff are very approachable and do their best to help even when they are busy. Mum has always been reluctant to ask for help but the staff very kindly offer suggestions and mum is now accepting help on her terms. I would definitely recommend Ty Enfys as a safe, caring, modern comfortable care home. And of course, we love Ted the resident dog!

Ty Enfys Care Home is a bright modernised care facility offering a high-quality of care. Residents are encouraged to join in various activities to stimulate their day but if that's not their thing, then staff will spend some time with them just having a chat or having a hot drink. The rooms are adequate
and kept immaculately clean at all times. The main entrance reception area can be used by residents and visitors to enjoy a pleasant meeting space with a welcome, free tea and coffee machine. The gardens to the rear are also a lovely meeting space, when weather permits. My 93-year-old mother is well cared for and although she hasn't fully accepted the loss of her independence, I know that Ty Enfys staff do all they can to make her feel settled and welcome in her new environment.

It's such a load off my mind to know that Mum is in Ty Enfys and always has people on hand, if she has any problems. There are things for her to do and people to mix with but she has the choice to go to her room if she isn't in the mood for company. She enjoys the hairdresser and having her nails done
and likes the staff who look after her.

I’m General Manager at Ty Enfys and have enjoyed working here for ten years. I completed my nursing degree in 1984 and then worked in the Middle East until 1999, gaining experience in nursing, psychiatric medicine and oncology. I am proud to be part of a passionate team that put the happiness of residents at the heart of everything we do. We are delighted to have been recognised as one of the top 20 care homes in the whole of Wales.

I have over 20 years experience in both administration and care and bring to the role qualifications in both. I always ensure that everything I do is delivered to a high standard at all times.

I am the Lifestyle Leader at Ty Enfys and have been since 2014. I get great job satisfaction out of my role and working closely with the residents, getting to know their likes, dislikes and life histories which are always fascinating; it’s the biggest perk of the job. I have lived in Cardiff since attending Cardiff University in 2008 and I couldn’t see myself anywhere else! Organising trips, events and entertainment allows me and the residents to see all of the great things that Cardiff has to offer.

I am the residential community lead and have been working here for over 11 years.
What I love the most about working here is that no two days are the same. I love to help and care for our residents each and every day.

I am the Dementia Community Lead and have been working at Ty Enfys since 2015. I have been a nurse for over 16 years, recently becoming the community lead position.


I enjoy my role and the difference I make in the care of those living with dementia. Relationship-centred care is at the heart of all I do and I love to see residents thrive each day.

Job Title: Nursing Community Leader

Joined: 2012

I am the team leader on the Nursing Community. I qualified as a nurse in India in 2009 and came to the UK in 2012 to study a Professional Practice Diploma at the University of South Wales which was incorporated with the overseas nurses programme.


I started as a Care Assistant at Ty Enfys in 2012 and obtained my UK PIN number in 2014. I have been a nurse at Ty Enfys ever since!
Building relationships with residents and colleagues, together with meeting the needs of the residents is what I most enjoy about my job.

Job Title: Love and Affection Manager

Joined: 2011

Ted has been with us since he was 8 weeks old and now it feels as if he has always been here. The benefits of pets within a care home have been widely documented and we can see first-hand the positive effect Ted has on the residents and visitors here at Ty Enfys. He works Monday to Friday 9 am-5 pm and is so friendly, bringing a smile to so many faces.
