There aren't enough stars to rate Milsom House and this is because of the fantastic team of carers that look after my mum, going from the management to the cleaners, they are all just wonderful, it doesn't matter how busy they are, they always find time to stop and have a nice chat with us making us
feel incredibly welcome!
My mum was basically on her deathbed in hospital, when we managed to get her into Milsom House, within days, it was as though the clock had gone back 5 years as her very strong personality came back which was wonderful for all her family to see, this was down to the wonderful care and patience of all the staff at Milsom House
She has now been at Milsom for over 8 months and is absolutely thriving and that is down to the fantastic team that Milsom House are fortunate to have.
Thank you for looking after our mum/nan/great nan.

Thank you for your kind words. They are much appreciated. We endeavour to treat our residents as individuals and it pleases us that you feel your mum has regained her personality.

My mother of 97 years of age was allocated room 16 for a two-week stay in the first two weeks of June 2022. During her stay, she found that the emergency call pull cord in the en suite toilet did not work, and subsequently was stuck on there for over 45 minutes until one of the residents raised the
alarm! During the eleven days she was in residence, she was showered once! Although she booked for two weeks her stay was cut short when she contracted a chest infection and had to be transferred to the hospital. The home still insisted she pays the full amount for her stay. Even as I write this she is still being cared for, fed, and looked after in hospital nearly £2000 the worst off. This home is certainly not to be recommended.

Reply from Louise Johnson, Manager at Milsom House

Thank you for your review, feedback is always welcomed and is important to us. It is unfortunate that your Mum could not fulfill her booked two week stay with us however we do operate a minimum (non-refundable) stay of two weeks which is made clear from the point of enquiry.

We are sorry there was a fault with the en-suite call bell this was acted on immediately.

In relation to your Mum only having one shower during her stay, we encourage all of our residents at Milsom House to make choices about their care, personal preferences and to promote their independence in every way possible, their choices may not be agreeable to relatives and family members but it is important to us that we provide the care and assistance to a level with which a resident is happy and to respect their wish to refuse.
